Session Key Agreement Protocol for IoT Home Devices using Shadow Passwords (그림자 패스워드를 사용한 IoT 홈 디바이스 사이의 세션키 공유 프로토콜)

  • Although various home services are developed as increasing the number of home devices with wire and wireless connection, privacy infringement and private information leakage are occurred by unauthorized remote connection. It is almost caused by without of device authentication and protection of transmission data. In this paper, the devices' secret value are stored in a safe memory of a smartphone. A smartphone processes device authentication. In order to prevent leakage of a device's password, a shadow password multiplied a password by the private key is stored in a device. It is proposed mutual authentication between a smartphone and a device, and session key agreement for devices using recovered passwords on SRP. The proposed protocol is resistant to eavesdropping, a reply attack, impersonation attack.

  • Almost of industrial measuring instruments usually are equipped only with serial communication devices. In order to connect these instruments to internet, we implement an embedded translator. This device has the hardware components composed of one WAN port, two LAN ports, and two UARTs, and functions as a communication translator between serial and internet communication. it also provides web-based monitoring function that is absent from existing serial-to-ethernet converter. The hardware is implemented using the KS8695 network processor which s an ARM922T as processor core. We have installed the boa web server and utilized the CGI function for internet-based remote control, added the IP sharing function which allows the network with private IP addresses to access the internet, and developed a serial-to-ethernet translation program. Finally, we show an application example of the developed translator that remotely monitors the solar energy production system.

An Authoring Strategy of Educational Contents using Component Technology and Concept-Based Branch Method (컴포넌트 기술과 개념단위 분기방법을 이용한 교육을 콘텐츠의 저작지침)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel model and effective authoring strategy of educational contents which improve the drilling effects in the cyber education through Internet. Especially we offer an authoring process of digital contents of engineering departs using JAVA component library technology and concept-based branch method, making the element of the library as unit-contents separated in accordance with their characteristics arid then accessing them at arbitrary instant in the replaying time. In proportion to the proposed model and strategy, the resultant contents shows advanced adaptabilities and interactions so that the contents can be user-oriented considerations. Combining and realizing the proposed authoring strategy for constitution of digital contents, we can get a more efficient scenario of making and drilling especially in the area of engineering or language courses.

  • Design of efficient Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols with both high throughput performances is a major focus in distributed contention based MAC protocol research. In this paper, we propose an efficient contention based MAC protocol for wireless Local Area Networks, namely, the Developed Collision Resolution (DCR) algorithm. This algorithm is developed based on the following innovative ideas: to speed up the collision resolution, we actively redistribute the backoff timers for all active nodes; to reduce the average number of idle slots, we use smaller contention window sizes for nodes with successful packet transmissions and reduce the backoff timers exponentially fast when a fixed number of consecutive idle slots are detected. We show that the proposed DCR algorithm provides high throughput performance and low latency in wireless LANs.

An Interactive Approach to Categorize Questions on the Internet BBSs (인터넷 게시판 질문 분류를 위한 인터랙티브 접근방법에 관한 연구)

  • In a traditional customer support environment, mainly call centers or service centers are responsible for receiving inquiries from their customers via telephone calls. Due to the rapid growth of Internet with its widespread acceptance and accessibility, means of communication with customers in the traditional customer support center, such as telephones, letters, and direct-visiting, have been replaced by e-mails and bulletin board systems (BBSs) using the Internet constantly. BBSs are basically question and answer systems, they require some lead time to get answer from administrator. To reduce lead time, BBSs enable remote customers or users to log on and tap into a knowledge database that is generally formatted in the form of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) that provide answers and solutions to the common problems. And, many different types of the questions are mixed on the BBS. It is a burden to administrator. To build FAQs and to support BBS adminstrator, a supporting tool which is to categorize questions is helpful. In this research, we suggest an interactive question categorizing methodology which consists of steps to present question using keywords, identifying keywords' affinity, computing similarity among questions, and clustering questions. This methodology allows users to interact iteratively for clear manifestation of ambiguous questions. We also developed a prototype system, IQC (interactive question categorizer) and evaluated its performance using the comparison experiments with other systems. IQC is not a general purposed system, but it produces a good result in a given specific domain.

  • 최근, 웹(World Wide Web) 환경에서 효율적인 인터넷 서비스를 위해서 정적 서비스보다는 동적 서비스에 대한 다양한 요구사항들을 만족시키고자 많은 연구자들의 노력이 시도되고 있다. 웹 상에 있는 서버들로부터 정보를 얻기 위하여, CGI는 분산 응용들 간의 상호연동의 한 방법으로 제안되었다. 이 방ㅂ버에서 서버는 서비스 객체들간의 정적 바인딩 인한 과중한 처리 부담 및 네트워크 트래픽 부하를 극복할 수 없는 문제점들을 가지고 있다. 이러한 이유에서 본 논문에서는 기존의 CGI를 사용하는 대신에 확장된 객체 지향형 미들웨어를 사용하므로 웹 상에서 분산자원을 효율적으로 지원할 수 있도록 한다. 목표 시스템을 웹 상에서 구현하였다. 여기에서 클라이언트 모듈들은 임의의 서버에게 정보를 요청하기 위한 CORBA 미들웨어 접속용으로 서버 모듈은 클라이언트의 요청을 CORBA/JAVA 미들웨어를 통해 받아 웹 서버내의 멀티미디어 정보를 검색하도록 각각 구현되었다.

A Probability based Message Synchronization Mechanisms for Massively Multi-Player Online Game (대용량 온라인 게임을 위한 확률 기반 메시지 동기화 기법)

  • In the online game that thousands of participants connect to a game world by using Internet simultaneously, participants of the game world may have different hardwares and network environments, and messages of participants should be synchronization. A solution for the synchronization problem is to wait for a certain amount of time until the server processes the message. It is not easy to determine a suitable waiting period because of the trade-off between the fairness and the responsiveness. In this paper we propose a method to decide a waiting period by considering features of the MMOFPS game and the probability of interaction among participants. We implement the proposed method and perform experiments for the performance evaluation.

Design of Home Gateway Architecture for Efficient Multimedia distribution in Home Network (홈 네트워크에서 멀티미디어의 효율적 분배를 위한 홈 게이트웨이 구조 설계)

  • The need for a unified data communication for home digital devices and realtime multimedia services in home network has led to recent research on home gateway over the broadcasting and communication convergence network. In this paper, we discuss requirement for such home gateway design and define services that the home gateway provides. Then, we propose a home gateway architecture aimed to efficient multimedia distribution for heterogeneous devices in the home network. The proposed home gateway has a role of protocol gateway, media server, and media trans-coder. Finally, we show the feasibility of the proposed home gateway in several multimedia distribution scenario.

  • A network neutrality is the concept that ISP assures users non-discrimination, interconnection, accessibility for ensuring users without control or interference of equal services in the network. But today a network traffic is growing rapidly in sensitive buffering services as P2P service diffusion and mass video stream service. To manage this problem, ISP violates a net neutrality by control, change and interfere with service. And then the debate about net neutrality is happening. Therefore in this paper, we compare and analyze net neutrality principles, concepts, and legislative policy in the native and foreign. Based on this, we suggested the issues and improvement plan of net neutrality guard line.

  • From the reciprocal connection by this Internet network researchs about the efficiency improvement of the whole system is accomplished with the method which reduces delays in message transmission. From here, we will do a comparative study between the user data program protocol (UDP) and the zero copy which does not use the buffer cache to fine out the valid method to improve the efficiency. In this thesis, I will change the message copy from execution process of the buffer cache of the TCP/IP on Unix OS with process on Linux OS. The object of conversion is to show you that the zero copy which doesn't use the buffer cache from transfer control class improves the communication efficiency.
