A Study on Efficient Design of PUF-Based RFID Authentication Protocol (PUF 기반 RFID 인증 프로토콜의 효율적 설계에 관한 연구)

  • A PUF is embedded and implemented into a tag or a device, and outputs a noise y with an input of x, based on its own unique physical characteristics. Although x is used multiple times as inputs of PUF, the PUF outputs slightly different noises, ($y_1,{\cdots}y_n$), and also the PUF has tamper-resistance property, hence it has been widely used in cryptographic protocol. In this paper, we study how to design a PUF-based RFID authentication protocol in a secure and an efficient way. Compared with recent schemes, the proposed scheme guarantees both authentication and privacy of backword/forward under the compromise of long-term secrets stored in tag. And also, the most cost and time-consumming procedure, key recovery algorithm used with PUF, has been desgined in the side of RFID reader, not in the tag, and, consequently, gives possibility to minimize costs for implementation and running time.

  • The RFID Technology (which is importantly used at the Ubiquitous environment) is attached to all of the units like the ID cards and then information on the units and units' environment is transferred and processed through the radio frequency. so it is the no touched recognition system. RFID Technology's research of the middle ware and wireless interface etc. is currently conducted and variously broaden like the industry of the distribution and logistics. This paper suggests that the gate control system which is based on RFID middle ware is realized to prevent the district and facility for security. The indication of this paper is that algorithm (which is to certificate Users' enterance through RFID EPC code) is proposed and realizes the user certification module, the control module of the gates' opening and closing, the maintenance module of the gate, the display module of coming and going information, test program ect. through RFID technology.

  • Because the embedded watermark of luminance component guarantees the extraction of ownership information when the color image is converted to gray scale image, the information of ownership right as to the luminance component is embedded in the luminance-chrominance color space such as YCbCr. Therefore, this paper proposes watermark embedding, extraction and authentication algorithm of color image. which considers the device and performance of multimedia contents service by focusing on the robustness and invisibility of watermark. The color image is converted from RGB color space to YCbCr color space, and then the properties of each component of Y(Luminance), Cb(Color Differences) and Cr(Color Differences) are considered in order to embed, extract and certify multi-level watermark in the frequency domain based on the wavelet. As a result, it can guaranteed the robustness for the JPEG compression and invisibility of watermark for multi-level.

  • There are relatively many research results of the validation of the cryptography. But few researches on the validation of cryptography implementations were accomplished. However, developer\`s misunderstanding the crypto-algorithm or a mistake in implementation of the crypto-a1gorithm leads to lose reliability of security products. Therefore, as validation of the crypto-algorithm itself also validation of the implementation is important. The major objective of this paper is to propose Security Products Validation Tool. Our tool validates implementation of the public key algorithm (RSA. KCDSA) and hash algorithm (SHA-1, HAS-170). The validation process is composed of several items and our tool performs validation teats for conformance to related standard.

  • Hash based RFID protocols proposed by Ha and M.Burmester is a scheme that tag's ID is updated using hash function to provide forward secrecy after session end. But this protocols have a problem both privacy and efficiency. This paper analyze a problem for privacy to apply a privacy game model proposed by Vaudenay. we analyze the cause that these scheme is difficult with tag's cheap implementation and efficient resynchronization. To solve these problems, we proposed a new hash based mutual authentication protocol which apply only two protocol's advantages. this protocols is based of resynchronization algorithm for Ha et al.'s protocol and added a new simple counter to record the numner of continuous desynchronization between tag and reader secret informations. this counter is more simple than cyclic counter proposed by M. Burmester's protocol. Also, we prove that proposal protocol improve a privacy against a privacy attack which is executed for Ha and M. Burmester's protocols.

  • With the development of communication infrastructure, the number of network equipment owned by one person is gradually increasing. General-purpose devices such as smartphones can implement theft/loss prevention function by implementing S/W. However, other small devices lack practicality such as long-distance communication problems due to standard communication technology specifications or H/W limitations, and lack of functions(authentication and security). This study combines the Lora communication protocol in the LPWA standard environment and the blockchain technology. Anti-theft and security functions were added to the protocol, and the PBFT consensus algorithm was applied to build a blockchain network. As a result of the test, the effectiveness of safety(authentication and trust network) and performance(blockchain processing performance) were confirmed. This study aims to contribute to the future development of portable or small device anti-theft products as a 4th industrial convergence research.

Recognition of Resident Registration Card using ART2-based RBF Network and face Verification (ART2 기반 RBF 네트워크와 얼굴 인증을 이용한 주민등록증 인식)

  • In Korea, a resident registration card has various personal information such as a present address, a resident registration number, a face picture and a fingerprint. A plastic-type resident card currently used is easy to forge or alter and tricks of forgery grow to be high-degree as time goes on. So, whether a resident card is forged or not is difficult to judge by only an examination with the naked eye. This paper proposed an automatic recognition method of a resident card which recognizes a resident registration number by using a refined ART2-based RBF network newly proposed and authenticates a face picture by a template image matching method. The proposed method, first, extracts areas including a resident registration number and the date of issue from a resident card image by applying Sobel masking, median filtering and horizontal smearing operations to the image in turn. To improve the extraction of individual codes from extracted areas, the original image is binarized by using a high-frequency passing filter and CDM masking is applied to the binaried image fur making image information of individual codes better. Lastly, individual codes, which are targets of recognition, are extracted by applying 4-directional contour tracking algorithm to extracted areas in the binarized image. And this paper proposed a refined ART2-based RBF network to recognize individual codes, which applies ART2 as the loaming structure of the middle layer and dynamicaly adjusts a teaming rate in the teaming of the middle and the output layers by using a fuzzy control method to improve the performance of teaming. Also, for the precise judgement of forgey of a resident card, the proposed method supports a face authentication by using a face template database and a template image matching method. For performance evaluation of the proposed method, this paper maked metamorphoses of an original image of resident card such as a forgey of face picture, an addition of noise, variations of contrast variations of intensity and image blurring, and applied these images with original images to experiments. The results of experiment showed that the proposed method is excellent in the recognition of individual codes and the face authentication fur the automatic recognition of a resident card.

  • Coordinator is defining so that function as most trust center that is point in security in ZigBee Alliance. Because must do height connection with coordinator in device signing to PAN newly, coordinator has shortcoming that subordinate is revealed to danger directly to Centered and cattish device. When do height connection some device, do not become problem, but if network is huge, coordinator's subordinate shall increase as traffic quantity which happen in coordinator increases. Also, in ZigBee security to link network kina of transmission and mutually certification in ZigBee Alliance standard include, but I do not provide method to deliver master key in each node safely. Because process that transmit master key passes through channel that do not secure, master key has shortcoming that is revealed directly. In this paper, I suggested Parent-Child key establishment algorithm to solve these problem. Proposed algorithm consists of two structures. Master key establishment algorithm and device that sign to PAN newly that can use one-way Hash chain and transmit master key safety are consisted of Parent-Child network key establishment algorithm that do child node and parent node key establishment as can do key establishment efficiently. Method that device proposes in case method that propose in case have master key establishment time was shown better performance $200{\sim}1300ms$ than existing method, and device does not have master key than existing method height connect time about $400{\sim}500ms$ better performance see.

  • Many research demonstrations and commercial applications have been tried to develop face detection and recognition systems. Human face detection plays an important role in applications such as access control and video surveillance, human computer interface, identity authentication, etc. There are some special problems such as a face connected with background, faces connected via the skin color, and a face divided into several small parts after skin region segmentation in generally. It can be allowed many face detection techniques to solve the first and second problems. However, it is not easy to detect a face divided into several parts of regions for reason of different illumination conditions in the third problem. Therefore, we propose an efficient modified skin segmentation algorithm to solve this problem because the typical region segmentation algorithm can not be used to. Our algorithm detects skin regions over the entire image, and then generates face candidate regions using our skin segmentation algorithm For each face candidate, we implement the procedure of region merging for divided regions in order to make a region using adjacency between homogeneous regions. We utilize various different searching window sizes to detect different size faces and a face detection classifier based on a back-propagation algorithm in order to verify whether the searching window contains a face or not.

  • The development of Internet technology and the deployment of smart devices provide a convenient environment for people, and this is becoming common with the technology called the Internet of Things (IoT). But the development of, and demand for, IoT technology is causing various problems, such as personal information leaks due to the attacks of hackers who exploit it. A number of devices are connected to a network, and network attacks that have been exploited in the existing PC environment are occurring in the IoT environment. When it comes to IP cameras, security incidents (such as distributed denial of service [DDoS] attacks, hacking someone's personal information, and monitoring without consent) are occurring. However, it is difficult to install and implement existing security solutions because memory space and power are limited owing to the characteristics of small devices in the IoT environment. Therefore, this paper proposes a security protocol that can look at and prevent IoT security threats. A security assessment verified that the proposed protocol is able to respond to various security threats that could arise in a network. Therefore, it is expected that efficient operation of this protocol will be possible if it is applied to the IoT environment.
