A Study on Information Users' Needs and Information Seeking Behavior of Doctoral Researchers in Digital Age (디지털 환경에서 학술연구자들의 정보요구 및 이용행태에 관한 연구 - 인문사회분야와 과학기술분야의 비교를 중심으로 -)

  • In the digital environment where the Internet and IT change rapidly, researchers have utilized scientific information by relying on more complex and various media than before. This study performed a group interview with thirteen questions derived from five categories in order to understand information needs and information seeking behaviors of Korean doctoral researchers in this information environment. The five categories are (1) identifying information resource usage pattern, (2) attitude towards information resources and reasons for use, (3) IT skills and information literacy, (4) physical library use vs electronic access, and (5) attitudes toward the digital library. In particular, this study focused on analyzing similarities and differences of two groups of researchers selected equally in the humanities and social sciences and in science and technology by doing the interview. The research showed that there are no differences in the goal of using scientific information, information literacy, the ratio of using written materials to electronic resources, and routes of acquiring research ideas or knowledge, but there are differences in materials used for studies or researches and in favorite scientific portal sites.

An Analysis of Urban Environment Characteristics Influencing on Satisfaction of Residential Environment (주거환경 만족에 영향을 미치는 도시환경 특성 분석)

  • A residential space where a person lives in may change following the flow of time and it has evolved in various shapes through the development process of a city. In particular, after the 1900s when the modern urban planning was first applied in full-scale, the urban environment and residential environment have formed cities through systematic planning. Under the assumption that the level of satisfactory life for urban residents residing in such an urban environment would be influenced mutually with the residential environment and urban environment to carry out this study, and as for the methodology of this study, the questionnaire was implemented with the subject of residents in Seoul City and analysis was implemented for regression analysis through SPSS 20.0 program. The results of the study are shown as follows. First, the relationship of the residential environment and urban environment is classified for convenience, safety and pleasance to have the important implication, and the level of satisfaction for the residential environment is analyzed to show implications with influence on the level of satisfaction for settlement consciousness. Second, the relationship of influence of residential environment on the settlement consciousness with the characteristics of urban environment is statistically noticeable and the stability and pleasance would have the statistically noticeable influence on satisfactory residential environment and the convenience would not render noticeable influence. And, third, under the characteristics of urban environment, convenience does not have direct influence on the settlement consciousness and it is confirmed to influence on the settlement consciousness indirectly only through the satisfaction of variation in the residential environment.

Study on Deriving the Items related to Investigation and Planning for the Comprehensive Maintenance Plan of Scenic Sites (명승 종합정비계획 수립을 위한 조사 및 계획 항목의 도출에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to excavate the items of the comprehensive maintenance plan for scenic sites considering sustainability and analyze the needs of them. In this sense, based on 35 reports of the comprehensive maintenance plan established between 2006, when scenic sites started to be designated, and 2017, the items used in 'investigation field' and 'planning field' were examined, and then a survey regarding the needs of the items was conducted using a "5-point Likert Scale", targeting officials at 60 local governments in the whole country. Of 60 local governments, opinions from 48 officials at 45 local governments were analyzed. In order to verify the consistency of their opinions, "Reliability Analysis" was conducted, and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.968 and 0.970 for 'investigation field' and 'planning field', respectively, showing high reliability. As a result of the survey, most opinions generally expressed the needs of 6 items of 'investigation field' of the comprehensive maintenance plan. Especially, the needs to investigate 'historical environment', 'natural environment', 'humanistic environment', and 'landscape' turned out to be high. In addition, as for 'general environment' and 'users', the needs of specific items such as 'distribution of main cultural properties and historic sites' (4.04) and 'acceptance of opinions from local residents and interested parties' (4.15) were found to be high. Besides, the items of 'planning field' also turned out to be needed in general (4.0). Particularly, the needs of 'enhancement of designated value and status' (4.26) and 'the comprehensive maintenance plan for designated areas of cultural properties and historic and cultural environment preservation areas' (4.25) in 'historical environment', 'maintenance of historic buildings at scenic sites' (4.28) in 'humanistic environment', and 'landscape trail planning' (4.28) in 'landscape' were found to be high. In conclusion, the practical items related to investigation and planning of the comprehensive maintenance plan for scenic sites are expected to contribute to effective conservation and management of scenic sites in the future.

The Effects of Environmental Factors on the Multicultural acceptance of Adolescents in Korean Schools (청소년의 다문화 수용성에 영향을 미치는 요인 환경요인을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the environmental factors influencing the multicultural acceptability of adolescents, and to improve the multicultural acceptability of adolescents. This study seek to confirm family environmental factors, school environmental factors, community environmental factors on the multicultural acceptability of adolescents, and provide an alternative to increase the multicultural acceptability of adolescents. This study used data from the first grade of middle school in the Korean child and youth panel data, and a total of 2,278 data were used for analysis. The analysis was done by multiple regression analysis through SPSS 18.0. The results were as follows: the environmental factors shown to significantly affect the multicultural acceptability of adolescents were school factors, such as school adaptation, and community factors, such as community awareness and community consciousness. As a result, it was found that school adaptation, school environment factors, community awareness and community consciousness affect the multicultural acceptability of adolescents. These results suggest that the role of school environment and community environment is important for enhancing the multicultural acceptability of adolescents. In the school environment, various education and programs should be prepared, and in the community environment, it is necessary to strengthen the role of the community and community consciousness.

A Study of Agenda Mining for Humanities-Based Convergence Research (인문사회기반 융합연구 의제 도출 연구)

  • In this study, we analyzed future emerging technologies from the perspective of convergence research and arranged them into mega-trends, trends, and issues, to carry out predictions of the future environment and search for technologies that are expected to be closely related to human life, and ultimately to achieve convergence research agenda that can predict various social problems. First, we investigated and analyzed the literature mentioned about various promising technologies and analyzed them to analyze key words and summarize the most frequently used core key words to infer trends. Then, an agenda was drawn that emphasized connectivity with the humanities-based convergence research by stratifying and organizing the inferred trends and classifying them as core and derived trends. The necessity, innovation, convergence, feasibility, future-oriented, and acceptability of these derived agendas were investigated through a survey. The analysis showed that researchers conducting convergence research showed a high interest in agenda items that deal closely with daily life with feasible technologies in the near future, while they showed a rather low interest in issues such as technology that can be realized in the distant future, terrorism or international conflicts.

Scandinavian Designs Based on the Anthropocene Discources (인류세 담론으로 본 스칸디나비아 디자인)

  • This study links the concept and implications of the anthropocene to the humanistic functionalism of Scandinavian design. Since the Industrial Revolution, the direction of modern design has been centered on the standardization of mechanical products and functionalism aimed at standardization. This is based on the human-centered dual idea of human and nature. But Scandinavian countries have developed humanistic functionalist designs, with exceptions emphasizing human organic relationships to nature instead of dual thinking. This is believed to be in line with the anthropocene discourse, which envisions the emergence of a new level of humanity and the regeneration of the natural environment under the banner of equality for all species on Earth. In this paper, the discussion was embodied in a way that combines the wide range of anthropocene discourses with the major issues of posthuman and postnature, which are the latest human and natural views. And we have selected and analyzed examples of modern Scandinavian designs focused on the circulatory potential of materials, and have sought the direction of trends suitable for the anthropocene era.

Linguistic Turn and the Education of Liberal Arts (언어적 전환과 인문교육)

  • In this paper, we try to criticize a bias that liberal arts are not practical. First, I introduce holistic models of knowledge and constructivism in education. Second, I suggest 'linguistic turn' as another noticeable phenomenon. Language is an element of culture, but a priviledged one because culture, in itself, is linguistic. So culture is a sort of a text. We can see that liberal arts or humanities to deal with texts, contexts and languages can have an important role to read, understand and construct a world. So the rediscovery of the traditional model of the education of liberal arts like processes of graduating studies of liberal arts or humanities, is relevant to a new 'practical' model of reading and leading recent social transformations. An important point is academic contribution. And current situation called 'Knowledge-Based Society' also supports my point in another way. The situation of rapidly changing knowledge requires an education of problem-solving ability by unifying and reconstructing knowledge supporting with constructivism in education rather than the cramming system of education.

Classification of Subregions in Yeongnam Region (영남지역 내 하위지역 구분)

  • This paper is to classify subregions of Yeongnam region, to realize their core area, and to provide the basis on studying inherent cultural characteristics in Yeongnam region. To do so, I made a overlay human factors of administrative district and dialect with physical factors of drainage basin and climate area. The limit of subregion is the range of possessing environmental factors similar to provincial center. The parcels possessing a equivalent combination of environmental factors are 27, the size of parcel is various from one-city/county to six-city/county. These parcels are classified to six subregions(Andong, Sangju, Kyeongju, Daegu, Kimhae, Jinju). The boundary of subregion is high mountains and large river which are obstacle to communication between subregions, and in case of little obstacle exists transitional zone.

Development of Satisfaction Factors and Evaluation of School Education System (학교교육시스템 만족도 요인 개발과 평가)

  • This study focuses on the evaluation on the satisfaction of school education system based on perception levels of students corresponding to school locations. Twenty eight variables concerning with school education system were selected based on literature review and six factors such as reliability, sympathy, student supporting system, teachers' ability, principal physical environments, secondary physical environments were extracted by factor analysis. Satisfaction evaluation was performed by SERVPERP model based on perception level, and differences among respondents as well as school locations were analyzed by t-test and ANOVA. The results said there is no difference on teachers' ability factors. Especially, perception levels of students in rural area were lower than those in urban area except teachers' ability and secondary physical environments factors. Most respondents dissatisfy the school education system and they have no intention to recommend their school facilities (hardware) as well as educational programs (software) to other students in different schools.

The moderating effect of malicious comments neutralization by gender difference (성별 차이에 따른 악성댓글 중화의 조절효과)

  • As malicious comments are emerging as social problems, the solution is needed. Many studies have been conducted in various perspectives to understand and prevent malicious comments. In the previous researches, the neutralization of malicious comments has attracted attention as an important factor explaining the malicious comments, but the difference of the degree of neutralization according to the gender has not been rarely considered. In addition, although there are many environmental characteristics that are different from reality in online, research with malicious comments is insufficient. Based on these facts, this study examined moderating effects of gender on relationship between malicious comments and neutralization, and demonstrated the effects of online environmental factors (anonymity, lack of social presence) on malicious comments. As a result of the study, we discovered that the influence of online environmental factors was not found, but neutralization of malicious comments had strong direct influence on malicious comments and moderating effect of gender difference. Based on the results of this study, we discuss academic and practical implications and suggest limitations of research and future research directions.
