This study is the academic work to explore the potential meanings of print advertisements. Linguistic features such as repetition, variation, contrast and phonological structure in the verbal texts of ads can give rise to shades-of-meaning or slight variations in advertising. The language of advertising is not only language in words. It is also a language in images, colors, and pictures. Pictures and words combine to form the advertisement's visual text.. While the words are very important in delivering the sales message, the visual text cannot be ignored in advertisements. Forming part of the visual text is the paralanguage of the ad. Paralanguage is the meaningful behaviour accompanying language, such as voice quality, gestures, facial expressions and touch in speech, and choice of typeface and letter sizes in writing. Foregrounding is the throwing into relief of the linguistic sign against the background of the norms of ordinary language. This paper focuses its discussion on the advertisements within the framework of the paradigmatic and the syntagmatic relationship. The sources of ads have been confined to Malboro. The ads were reselected based on purposive sampling methods.

This study investigated a utilization deficiency phase in the situation of children's acquiring mnemonic strategies in which children successfully execute a strategy but the strategy does not facilitate memory performance. This study examined spontaneous acquisition of elaboration strategy among 5th grade children in the learning of noun pairs for 5 sessions. Participants were tested in memory task using different list of word pairs in each session. Results showed that children increased the use of elaboration strategy significantly in 5 sessions but they did not gain benefit in recall. When the word pairs were associated, the use of elaboration strategy was significantly increased but children did not gain benefit in recall. This results were discussed in terms of utilization deficiency.

Social network service provides an excellent platform for people seeking for advices. This research analyzed the effect of rational and emotional response and social distance on people's acceptance for advices online by the construal level theory. An experiment was completed to test the relationship between advisers and questioners and verify the content of online feedback would influence people's acceptance for advices on social network site. The online response included emotional advice and rational advice. Social distance between advisers and questioners was divided to close social distance condition and distant social distance condition. The study showed: (1) comparing with emotional advice, rational advice had a higher persuasive effect in both close and distant social distance conditions; (2) the impact of feedback from people with close social distance was stronger than the impact of the advices from people with distant social distance; (3) there existed an interaction effect between social distance and affective advice. The results revealed that the adviser's affective expression and relationship with the questioner would interactively impact the online persuasive effect.

This paper on the socioeconomic role of One Dollar Campaign project initiated by Rwanda Diaspora in the reconstruction of the country after 1994 genocide against Tutsi tends to show how Rwanda Diaspora contributes to the socioeconomic development of their home country. The 1994 genocide against Tutsi in Rwanda has destroyed the country and the Rwandan society; and rebuilding the trust, unity, hope and socioeconomic status of genocide survivors in particular and of all Rwandans in general had to engage all Rwandans wherever they were. The focus of this paper is to assess the change on socioeconomic status of the beneficiaries of the one dollar campaign project initiated by Rwanda Diaspora which aimed to help genocide survivor orphans to have a shelter. The results showed that the amount of money contributed by Rwanda Diaspora for this project is of paramount importance as it exerts a positive impact on genocide orphan survivors' daily life, change of their socioeconomic status and to the country's development in general.

But Europe is not the most welcoming place for North Koreans at the moment. The European Alliance for Human Rights in North Korea, an advocacy group, reported in 2015 that many European countries had rejected the vast majority of North Korean asylum cases. Partly this is to do with how governments view North Korean defectors: the UK "considers North Koreans as South Korean citizens, thus excluding them from refugee status".

Today, men's appearance is an important part of the global fashion industry, including Korea, with such fashion concepts as the Metrosexual and Ubersexual. Domestic and overseas beauty and cosmetics related organizations are using this phenomenon for marketing and researching to improve the function of cosmetics. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Prunus persica L. Batsch leaf extract on the skin condition after clinical application to male subjects with oily skin to determine the possibility of functional cosmetics utilizing this extract. The cleansing bars were prepared by the MP method and the cleansing packs were prepared using natural ingredients. After 8 weeks of application, moisture, oil, erythema, melanin, pH, elasticity and tactile sensation were measured using MPA5. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in T-zone moisture and T-zone oil after using the natural cleansing bar, but there was no significant difference between the two groups for other items. However, the statistically significant changes were found in the individual skin condition change items of the subjects in each group, and it was judged that the two kinds of formulations could be used at the same time to have a higher skin improvement effect. Thus, Prunus persica L. Batsch leaf extract demonstrates potential to be used as a functional cosmetics item.

This study examined the relationships among financial capability, self-esteem and money relationship. For empirical analysis, the study conducted a survey of 429 users from 6 community center users in Seoul, Gyunggi and Chungnam areas in South Korea. Frequency analyses and structural equation modelling were carried out. The main findings are as follows: Firstly, household income had no statistically significant effect on the users' self-esteems. Second, the users' financial capabilities increased their self-esteem. Third, the users' money relationship problems lower their self-esteem. Fourth, the impact of financial capability on self-esteem was partially mediated by money relationship problems.

Clustering is a method that collects data objects into groups based on their similary. Performance of the state-of-the-art clustering methods is different according to the data characteristics. There have been numerous studies that performed experiments to compare the accuracy of the state-of-the-art clustering methods by applying various kinds of datasets. A common problem of these studies is that they only consider clustering algorithms that yield the most accurate results for a particular dataset. They do not consider what factors affect the execution time of each clustering method and how they are affected. Nevertheless, execution time is an important factor in clustering performance if there is no significant difference in accuracy. In order to solve the problems of the existing research, through a series of experiments using various types of datasets, we compare the accuracy of four representative clustering methods. In addition, we perform practical clustering performance comparisons by deriving time complexity and identifying factors that influences to its performance.

This paper presents the measurement of stress intensity factors of inclined cracks by use of photoelasticity. The distributions of isochromatics near a crack tip of the specimen loaded by uniaxially tensile load are used for analysis. Accuracy and reliability is enhanced by twice multiplying and sharpening the measured isochromatics using digital image processing. Photoelastic results are compared with those obtained by finite element method. Good agreement between them shows that the photoelastic analysis is reliable.

Java is an interpreted language that can run on a variety of platforms, also Java has a number of useful features for network. Due to theses features of Java language, Java is used in various fields. In this paper, we will talk about how the malware that threaten the Java Security Manager of the Java Virtual Machine is using the vulnerability of the Java Virtual Machine. And for corresponding measures, this paper suggest vulnerability analysis method of Java system class by using Java Call Graph and Java Access Permission Checking Tree. By suggesting that, we want to lay groundwork for preventing Java security threats in advance.
