쿼크(Quark)에 도전하는 인디자인(InDesign), 왜 인디자인이 주목받는가? 쿼크는 10여 년 이상을 우리나라 출판 인쇄 분야를 독점한 편집 프로그램이다. 대부분의 출력실이나 인쇄소에서는 현재까지 쿼크를 사용하므로 편집 디자이너도 그 흐름에 따라가야 했다. 이번 호에서는 실무 현장 분위기와 함께 쿼크의 아성을 무너뜨리려는 인디자인의 이유있는 도전을 살펴본다.

편집 디자인계에서 인디자인은 강력한 루키다. 인디자인은 10여 년 이상을 우리나라 출판 인쇄 분야를 독점한 쿼크에 정면 도전하고 있는 어도비의 편집 전문 프로그램이다. 실무 현장의 대부분인 출력실이나 인쇄소에서 현재까지 거의 쿼크를 사용하고 있기는 하지만 인디자인은 끊임없는 관심과 기대를 한몸에 받고 있는 프로그램이다. 총 5회의 연재에 걸쳐 인디자인의 모습과 장점, 특징, 쿼크(Quark)와의 대결 구조, 인디자인으로 작업하는 전반적인 과정, 출력 전 PDF 파일로 만드는 방법 등에 대해 알아본다. 이번 호에서 먼저 인디자인의 정의와 용도, 접근 방법 및 작업을 위한 기본 환경 설정에 대해 살펴본다.

This study multi-dimensionally analyzes "Indie Game: The Movie", The game documentary film published in June, 2012. As game industry increases, game-related documentary films are also being produced. Previous game documentary films usually focus on the success of popular game or game users and deal with the reason of success. However, "Indie Game: The Movie" centers on Indie game developers who are not from famous and huge companies. Due to the development of the game engine, these days, Indie games become a new trend that game developers are able to develop their own game freely. Then, this study has a purpose to study the life of Indie game developers and explore how and why they want to make their own game. More specifically, this study analyzes "Indie Game: The Movie" by 1) Story 2) Conflict and Resolution 3) Form 4) Sequence. As a result, it concludes that "Indie Game: The Movie" has interview section mainly and represents that Indie game developers want to develop their own games due to their ego and identity. In other words, throughout the analysis of the documentary film, it explores the reality that Indie Game developers face and many features of Indie Game in the game industry.

최근 들어 한국 주류의 대중음악 시장은 대형 기획사의 기획형 음악으로 획일화되고 있는 현상이 증가하고 있다. 대중음악의 장르가 편중되는 현상이 나타나면서, 그중 다양성에 대한 대안으로 인디음악이 주목되고 있다. 그러나 최근 인디음악 역시 문화의 획일화 현상을 닮아가고 있다는 의견이 지배적이다. 급변하는 시대의 흐름 속에 인디음악의 상업적 변화에 대한 원인을 분석하고, 인디음악이 나아가야 할 방향에 대하여 고찰한다. 이에 본 연구는 인디음악의 본연의 의미가 사라져가는 문제점을 파악하고 인디음악의 향후 방향에 대해 연구하기로 한다.

Academic interests have long left from the field of indie musicians, despite of their social and cultural values. This also means indie musician policies have enjoyed lack of evaluation. Main purpose of this study is to understand the indie musicians' environment, music activities and their job satisfaction by employing online survey method which were conducted over 105 Korean indie musicians. Survey results show that indie musicians feel the lack of performing facilities that can hold over 50 seats. Indie musician group with experience of 6 years and more has more chances of performing at big facilities. This group also tends to play more often, and earn more money from music activities. Also, analysis shows that satisfaction level of Indie musicians is affected by two factors - music activities and social reputation. From the results, we can conclude that indie musician policy needs to build grounds to harmonize supports from various field rather than play as a single supporter. Patriarchal attitude that government should do and can do everything is no more in effective at least in indie music field.

The flowsheet for the recovery of gallium and indium from zinc residues has been established based on the sulfuric acid treatment. In comparison with the alkali treatment, the method proposed in this work allowed the recovery of indium together with gallium. The majority of iron contained in leach liquor could be removed through the two-stage neutrallization under oxidative or reductive atmosphere. Crude gallium and indium could be obtained through the alkali and/or acid leaching of the products generated from the above treatment. In addition, cementation of indium with zinc powders could also be used for the concentration of it from weak acid solutions.
