Using Degree of Match to Improve Prediction Quality in Collaborative Filtering Systems (협업 필터링 시스템에서 Degree of Match를 이용한 성능향상)

  • Recommender systems help users find their interesting items more easily or provide users with meaningful items based on their preferences. Collaborative filtering(CF) recommender systems, the most successful recommender system, use opinions of users to recommend for an active user who needs recommendation. That is, ratings which users have voted on items to indicate preference on them are the source for making recommendation. Although CF systems are designed only to use users' preferences as the source of recommendation, use of some available information is believed to increase both the performance and the accuracy of CF systems. In this paper, we propose a CF recommender system which utilizes both degree of match and demographic information(e.g., occupation, gender, age) to increase the performance and the accuracy. Since more and more information is accumulated in CF systems, it is important to reduce the data volume while maintaining the same or the higher level of accuracy. We used both degree of match and demographic information as criteria for reducing the data volume, thereby naturally enhancing the performance. It is shown that using degree of match improves the prediction accuracy too in CF systems and also that using some demographic information also results in better accuracy.

  • The data mainly used for the model are as follows: the personal information, the information of insurance product, etc. With the data, we suggest three types of models: content-based filtering model, collaborative filtering model and classification models-based model. The content-based filtering model finds the cosine of the angle between the users and items, and recommends items based on the cosine similarity; however, before finding the cosine similarity, we divide into several groups by their features. Segmentation is executed by K-means clustering algorithm and manually operated algorithm. The collaborative filtering model uses interactions that users have with items. The classification models-based model uses decision tree and random forest classifier to recommend items. According to the results of the research, the contents-based filtering model provides the best result. Since the model recommends the item based on the demographic and user features, it indicates that demographic and user features are keys to offer more appropriate items.

A parametric bootstrap test for comparing differentially private histograms (모수적 부트스트랩을 이용한 차등정보보호 히스토그램의 동질성 검정)

  • We propose a test of consistency for two differentially private histograms using parametric bootstrap. The test can be applied when the original raw histograms are not available but only the differentially private histograms and the privacy level α are available. We also extend the test for the case where the privacy levels are different for different histograms. The resident population data of Korea and U.S in year 2020 are used to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed test procedure. The proposed test controls the type I error rate at the nominal level and has a high power, while a conventional test procedure fails. While the differential privacy framework formally controls the risk of privacy leakage, the utility of such framework is questionable. This work also suggests that the power of a carefully designed test may be a viable measure of utility.

  • 본 연구에서는 기술수용모델과 혁신확산이론을 기반으로 스마트폰 혁신기술 저항에 관한 재사용 의도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 한다. 외부변수는 기술수용모델의 인지된 유용성과 인지된 사용 용이성 그리고 혁신확산이론의 적합성과 복잡성을 4개 변수를 두고자 한다. 예측변수는 혁신저항 변수를 두고 재사용의도에 미치는 영향으로 하여 개념모델을 완성하였다. 또한 혁신저항 변수가 인지된 위험 요인을 매개하여 재사용의도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 부산 경남지역 및 전북지역에 거주하는 스마트폰 사용자를 대상으로 설문을 통해 자료를 수집하고자 한다. 인구통계학인 분석은 IBM SPSS Statistics 19로 하고 확인적 요인분석과 변수들 간의 인과관계에 대한 경로분석은 Smart PLS를 사용하여 분석하고자 한다. 분석결과를 바탕으로 이론적 실무적 시사점을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 서울시를 대상으로 2020년 기준 자치구별 공공체육시설의 개수를 분석하고, 도출된 서비스 지역 적정 개소 수를 기준으로 추가 설치가 필요한 자치구 내 입지를 예측하였다. 기존 공공 체육시설 수와 선행연구의 입지 지표를 활용해 회귀분석을 바탕으로 유의한 입지요인을 도출하고, 이를 변수로 한 k-means 군집화를 통해 자치구별 입지 후보군이 될만한 행정구역상 동을 구분하였다. 이후 선정된 행정구역 내 기준 인구 당 공공체육시설 비율이 같아지도록 공공체육시설 설치 개수를 결정한 다음 각 구역의 중심점으로부터 가까운 동 순으로 공공체육시설의 추가 설치가 필요한 동을 선정하였다.

Forecasting Electric Power Demand Using Census Information and Electric Power Load (센서스 정보 및 전력 부하를 활용한 전력 수요 예측)

  • In order to develop an accurate analytical model for domestic electricity demand forecasting, we propose a prediction method of the electric power demand pattern by combining SMO classification techniques and a dimension reduction conceptualized subspace clustering techniques suitable for high-dimensional data cluster analysis. In terms of electricity demand pattern prediction, hourly electricity load patterns and the demographic and geographic characteristics can be analyzed by integrating the wireless load monitoring data as well as sub-regional unit of census information. There are composed of a total of 18 characteristics clusters in the prediction result for the sub-regional demand pattern by using census information and power load of Seoul metropolitan area. The power demand pattern prediction accuracy was approximately 85%.

  • Nowadays, overflowing data produced every second from the internet make people to be difficult to search for the useful information. That's why people have invented and developed unique tools that they get some relevant information. In this paper, the recommender system, one of the effective tools, is used and it helps us to get the useful information that we want by using demographic information to predict new items of interest. The demographic recommender system in this paper computes users' similarity using demographic information, age and gender. So we performed demographic analysis on movie ratings on Internet Movie Database (IMDB) web site that movies are rated by thousands of people, where users submitted a movie rating after they watched a recent popular film. Meanwhile, we can understand that user's ratings, among various determinants of box office, is very essential factor in the study on recommendation of movie. This paper is aimed at analyzing movie average ratings directly given by film viewers, categorizing them into groups by sex and age, investigating the entire group and finding the representative group by examining it with F-test and T-test. This result is used to promote and recommend for the target group only. Therefore, this study is considerably significant as presenting utilization for movie business as well as showing how to analyze demographic information on movie ratings on the web.

Analysis of the Seoul public bikes usage for new rental locations (서울 공공자전거 신규 대여소를 위한 수요량 예측 분석)

  • Seoul public bike program facilitates access to bicycles and offers potential for greater mobility and health for users. Furthermore, it would have positive impacts on transport congestion, energy use, and the environment. Hence, it is important to find future rental locations by taking to account both bike-demand and regional imbalance. This paper first finds eligible candidates of rental locations with the required spatial conditions such as a sufficient sidewalk width and accessibility of bike pick-up vehicles. And then, estimates public bike daily usage for each selected location via random forest based on Seoul public bike historical usage, Seoul geographical features, regional characteristics, and populations. This study contributes to a better comprehension of the Seoul public bike program, and would be useful in determining new public bike rental locations.

Analysis of the relationship between satisfaction and use value of the amount of construction technology information provided (건설기술정보 제공물량의 만족도 및 사용 가치 간의 관계 분석)

  • The Construction Technology Information System collects, processes, and provides the public with free of charge 16 types of construction technology-related texts or index information, such as construction standards, construction practices, and construction reports, required at construction sites to enhance domestic construction technology. This study judged that user satisfaction could be increased if the budget was allocated first to the most effective construction technology information DB establishment. For each type of construction technology information, the level of satisfaction felt by the population for the quantity provided and the value of use according to the acquisition and utilization of information were investigated. Reliability between independent variables and dependent variables through a multiple regression analysis process to identify how the demographic characteristics of the population affect user satisfaction and the factors that affect the use value of information for each type of construction technology information. and the correlation was analyzed. The correlation between the demographic characteristics of respondents and users' satisfaction with the provided quantity was generally low, but construction experience, age, etc. were found to have an effect on satisfaction with the provided quantity. In particular, among the demographic measurement items of respondents, the more construction experience they had, the higher their satisfaction level with the quantity provided of low-level technical standards, and it was analyzed that older age had an impact on satisfaction with the quantity provided for small and medium-sized business support information.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze consumers'choice behavior with regard to information and communication technology(ICT) devices and related services. This research focuses on the relationships not only within each category but also among different categories by considering multiple choice situations in a variety of categories simultaneously. The multivariate probit model with demographic variables and the alternative specific constant model with variance-covariance matrix are estimated using survey data; moreover, the multi-dimensional scaling method is utilized for the presentation of the relationship map. It is evident from the results that some devices and services have a complementary or substitute relationship each other. This study can provide useful information for the development of new products and services by understanding and predicting consumer's behavior.
