This paper investigates the determinants of port service quality from a resources-based approach. The research model is derived from the relevant literature in port management, service quality, and resource-based theory. It is hypothesized that tangible and intangible resources contribute to port service quality, which in turn leads to the enhancement of reputation and loyalty to ports. To test this, a questionnaire survey is undertaken on three major ports in Korea: Busan, Incheon, and Gwangyang; the collected data are then analyzed using partial least squares. It is suggested that both tangible resources and intangible resources have a positive influence on general service quality and that general service quality has a positive influence on customer satisfaction, thus improving port reputation and loyalty. The contribution to the literature is that resource-based theory is applied to a port service quality model and the model is verified. In addition, an augmented model is adopted to examine the effect of individual resources on service quality. It is also possible for port managers to use the constructs to monitor their resources and develop more specific strategies to gain reputation and loyalty from customers.
The purpose of this study was to identify the effects influencing path behaviors of pre-service childcare teachers to present the educational and social welfare measures for promoting children's character development and preventing the alienation of the elderly. The subjects for this study are 176 students who completed the childcare teacher course in four universities located in G city and J province. The scale of this study utilized modified, supplemented scale used in previous studies[1][2] that was constituted for a newly transformed model based on planned behavior theories. The contents of research design include salience beliefs such as attitude beliefs, normative beliefs, control beliefs, etc. as well as a model of planned behavior theories such as attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavior control, behavior intension, behavior, etc. This study conducted frequency analysis and regression analysis for the data collected by using the SPSS 18.0 for Windows. From the results of verification, all hypothesis was supported. Thus, usefulness of this theory was reconfirmed, and the results of this study are to be utilized as basic materials for professionals who make every endeavor in a perspective of children's character development and in a perspective of reducing alienation phenomenon of the elderly.
This study is the first model to apply the concept of media engagement to a political campaign by which the voters' mind toward the supporting political candidates, are read. Thus it provides the theoretical and practical implications to the political campaign, and eventually contributes to the development of democracy. For these objectives, the total of 729 people who have the right to vote were telephone surveyed using the peoplemeter, CATI program in the 18th Presidential Election (12 areas including Seoul) of Dec. 19th 2012, and Re and By-election of April 24th 2013. Research question is to examine how the 5 attributes of the media engagement (interest, immersion, relevance, satisfaction and participation), play a role as the moderating variables in cross-correlation, socio-economic status and media properties. The result shows that of the five properties of media engagement, the relevant factor is the important parameter of mediating variable to the causal relationship. The media usage (TV, SNS, print media), socio-economic status (gender, age, income, marriage and area), involvement and the Presidential Election, and Re and By-election are also effective in the five attributes of media engagement. These results suggest that the a study model can measure the campaign effectiveness. This study will contribute significantly to the development of politics, election, media, advertising, and public relations area as well as to promote interdisciplinary research.
This study investigates convergent influence on test anxiety and its association with job seeking stress, academic burnout, self efficacy among health college students in TOEIC class. Data collection was carried out using a self-administered questionnaire from April 3 to April 14, 2017 and the target was randomly selected 291 Health College Students in TOEIC class from 1 college located in J city. Test anxiety was positively correlated with job seeking stress and academic burnout, and it was negatively correlated with self efficacy. With the analysis of covariance structure, we could confirm relationship among job seeking stress, academic burnout, self efficacy and test anxiety. Job seeking stress was more influential on test anxiety than academic burnout and self efficacy. The results of the study indicate that the efforts, to manage these factors, are required to decrease the test anxiety of health college students in TOEIC class. The results are expected to be useful for the development of TOEIC learning curriculum decrease the test anxiety of TOEIC study among health college students in TOEIC class. In the following study, the survey about additional factors of influence on test anxiety will be needed.

The purpose of this study was to identify the components of the adaptation experiences and factors that help male nurses adapt to clinical nursing settings. The participants were eight male nurses working at general hospitals. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using Giorgi's phenomenological analysis methods. The core components of the adaptation experiences of the participants in clinical nursing settings were summarized as 'dedication to work', 'challenges in reality that are different from expectations', 'establishing a professional identity', and 'self-development for the future'. The relationships between these components showed causative, accelerative, and recursive characteristics. The adaptation process was structured in the temporal context. In order for male nurses to adapt well to clinical nursing settings, policy efforts should be made to improve their working conditions and resolve inequalities, such as granting equal opportunities for promotion regardless of sex. In addition, it is essential for male nurses to have sufficient internal control for them to make self-directed efforts to strengthen their willpower and self-development efforts to facilitate their adaptation. This study suggests that developing suitable strategies and policy efforts based on the results is required to assist male nurses in adapting to clinical nursing settings.
Verification for the causality of factors affecting fear of criminal victim which has a bad influence on the senior's quality of life and directions to prevent the crimes against the elderly have been suggested. This study proves the applicability for fear of crime to old people especially based on risk interpretation model consisting of perceived risk of crime, behavioral response and fear of crime. Analysis results are as follows. First, disorder factors as social characteristics showed statistically significant influences on perceived risk of crime, behavioral response and fear of crime. Second, direct experienced crime victimization only affected perceived risk of crime while indirect experienced crime victimization had an effect on perceived risk of crime and fear of crime as well. Third, perceived risk of crime influenced fear of crime. Fourth, perceived risk of crime was concerned with fear of crime. Fifth, behavioral response was affiliated with fear of crime. These results reveal that risk interpretation model can be applied to senior's fear of crime. Moreover, disorder factor as social characteristic and experienced crime victimization as individual characteristic help the elderly perceive the risk of crime, bring behavioral response. Consequently, they play a role of factors affecting fear of crime. It is emphasized that support policy is required for the elderly who had experienced crime and stabilization of community environment if necessary to improve the quality of life.

This study conducted a sediment culture experiment to investigate the effects of sediment oxygen demand (SOD) and environmental factors on sediment and water quality. We installed a leaching tank in the laboratory, cultured it for 20 days, and analyzed the relationship between P and Fe in the sediment. As a result, the dissolved oxygen of the water layer decreased with time, while the oxidation-reduction potential of the sediment progressed in the negative direction to form an anaerobic reducing environment. The SOD was measured to be 0.05 mg/g at the initial stage of cultivation and increased to 0.09 mg/g on the 20th day, indicating the tendency of increasing consumption of oxygen by the sediment. The change is likely to have caused by oxygen consumption from biological-SOD, which is the decomposition of organic matter accumulated on the sediment surface due to the increase of chl-a, and chemical-SOD consumed when the metal-reducing product produced by the reduction reaction is reoxidized. The correlation between SOD and causality for sediment-extracted sediments was positive for Ex-P and Org-P and negative for Fe-P. The analysis of the microbial community in the sediment on the 20th day showed that anaerobic iron-reducing bacteria (FeRB) were the dominant species. Therefore, when the phosphate bonded to the iron oxide is separated by the reduction reaction, the phosphate is eluted into the water to increase the primary productivity. The reduced substance is reoxidized and contributes to the oxygen consumption of the sediment. The results of this study would be useful as the reference information to improve oxygen resin.
The This study aims to verify the causal relationship among physically disability persons participation in exercise, heart rate variance, and facial expression recognition. To achieve such research goal, this study targeted 139 physically disability persons and as for sampling, purposive sampling method was applied. After visiting a sporting stadium and club facilities that sporting events were held and explaining the purpose of the research in detail, only with those who agreed to participate in the research, their heart rate variance and facial emotion awareness were measured. With the results of measurement, mean value, standard deviation, correlation analysis, and structural equating model were analyzed, and the results are as follows. The quantity of exercise positively affected sympathetic activity and parasympathetic activity of autonomic nervous system. Exercise history of physically disability persons was found to have a positive influence on LF/HF, and it had a negative influence on parasympathetic activity. Sympathetic activity of physically disability persons turned out to have a positive effect on the recognition of the emotion, happiness, while the quantity of exercise had a negative influence on the recognition of the emotion, sadness. These findings were discussed and how those mechanisms that are relevant to the autonomic nervous system, facial expression recognition of physical disability persons.
This study investigates convergent influence on TOEIC learning flow and its association with self efficacy, academic control and school resilience among health college students. Data collection was carried out using a self-administered questionnaire from May 1 to May 29, 2018 and the target was randomly selected 255 health college students in TOEIC class from college located in J city. TOEIC learning flow was positively correlated with self efficacy, academic control and school resilience. With the analysis of covariance structure, we could confirm relationship among self efficacy, academic control, school resilience and TOEIC learning flow. School resilience was more influential on TOEIC learning flow than self efficacy and academic control. The results of the study indicate that the efforts to manage these factors are required to increase TOEIC learning flow of health college students in TOEIC class. The results are expected to be used to develop TOEIC learning curriculum increasing the TOEIC learning flow among health college students in TOEIC class. In the following study, the survey about additional factors of influence on TOEIC learning flow will be needed.
The purpose of this study is to identify the main factors helping university students sucessfully adapt to campus life and achieve academic accomplishment through a critical period in personal development. For this purpose, the analysis verifying influence of self leadership as an individual trait variable and social support as a socio environmental trait variable on academic achievement of university students and the mediating effect of school adjustment among them was conducted. Total 271 responses collected by implementing a questionnaire survey in "S", a four-year private university located in Seoul, were used for the analysis. The validity of the measurement was verified through confirmatory factor analysis and the relationship among the variables was examined through structural model equation, bootstrap and sobel test. The major finding of this study are as follows. First, this study confirmed the causal relationship of self leadership and social support impacting on academic achievement of university students. This result suggests that an integrated approach taking into account both individual and socio environmental factors is necessary to support academic achievement of university students. Second, it was proved that self leadership and social support indirectly influences academic achievement through school adjustment. This demonstrates that school adjustment is an important predictor of academic achievement as well as plays a major role in mediating among self leadership, social support and academic achievement. In conclusion, the results of this study conveys its significance in suggesting the necessity to provide insititutional support on individual trait and socio environmental factor enabling university students sucessfully to adapt to campus life and achieve academic achievement.
