In this paper, a new rehabilitation training system was developed to improve equilibrium sense by combining virtual reality technology with a fixed exercise bicycle. The subjects consisted of two groups. A group of young people, was compared against a group of elderly. We measured three different running modes of virtual bicycle system with two successive sets. The parameters measured were running time, velocity, the weight movement, the degree of the deviation from the road, and the variables about the center of pressure. The repeated training, our results showed that the running capability of the elderly improve compared. In addition, it was found out that the ability of postural control and the equilibrium sense was improved with the presentation of the visual feedback information of the distribution of weight. From the results of this experiment, we showed that our newly developed system might be useful in the diagnosis of equilibrium sense or in the improvement of the sense of sight and, somatic, and vestibular sense of the elderly in the field of rehabilitation training.
The formation reation of anhydrite (CaSO$_{4}$) depends upon the amount and velocity of the SO$_{3}$(g) and CaO(s) produced in the process of the thermal decomposition of alunite[K$_{2}SO_{4}{\cdot}Al_{2}(SO_{4})_{3}{\cdot}4Al(OH)_{3}$] and limestone (CaCO$_{3}$) respectively. Therefore, this study had carried out to investigate the amount and velocity of SO$_{3}$(g) produced by roasting alunite and pyrolytic materials. In air, alunite was transfouned into KAl(SO$_{4})_{2}$ and Al$_{2}O_{3}$ by dehydration at 500~580$^{\circ}C$. The dehydration velocity of alunite was found to be kt=(1-(1-${\alpha})^{1/3})^{2}$, the activation energy, 73.01 kcal/mol. SO$_{3}$(g) ware slowly produced by the thermal decomposition of KAl(SO$_{2})_{2}$, at 580~700$^{\circ}C$, rapidly, at 700~780$^{\circ}C$, The pyrolysis velocity of KAl(SO$_{4})_{2}$ was found to be kt=1-(1-${\alpha})^{1/1}$; activation energy, 66.84kcal/mol. The SiO$_{2}$ and kaolinite in alunite ore scarcely affected the temperature and velocity in which SO$_{3}$(g) were produced.

A particle trajectory model to simulate two-phase particle-laden crossjets into two-dimensional horizontal free stream has been developed to study the variations of the jet trajectories and velocity variations of the gaseous and the particulate phases. The following conclusions may be drawn from the predicted results, which are in agreement with experimental observations. The penetration of the two-phase jet in a crossflow is greater than that of the single-phase jet. The penetration of particles into the free stream increases with increasing particle size, solids-gas loading ratio and carrier gas to free stream velocity ratio at the jet exit. When the particle size is large, the solid particles separate from the carrier gas , while the particles are completely suspended in the carrier gas for the case of small size particles. As the particle to carrier gas velocity ratio at the jet exit is less than unity, the particles in the vicinity of the jet exit are accelerated by the carrier gas. As the injection angle is increased, the difference of the particle trajectory from that of the pure gas becomes larger. Therefore, it can be concluded that the velocities and trajectories of the particle-laden jets in a crossflow change depending on the solids-gas loading ratio, particle size, carrier gas to free stream velocity ratio and particle to gas velocity ratio at the jet exit.

The hydraulic line haulers are now widely used to haul the main line, but the other hauling operations are still done manually in most pot fisheries. The oval type hooks which are connected between the loops and the post are tested for basic capability by the universal tension meter in order to develop the automatic separating system. The pots attached to the oval type hooks are separated automatically from the loops while the oval type hooks are running through the trumpet separator with the side roller and the results are as follows: 1. The tension of the large oval hooks (ø3.1mm) for missing pots and the compressive load at the end of hooks by hand are about 60kg and 6kg, and range of tension for passing through the trumpet is 11~15kg. 2. Automatic separating ratio of the pots with the large oval hooks is about 99% when the trumpet separator is attached to front or rear of the side roller in the laboratory. 3. The separating ratio of the pot with the large oval hooks while hauling operation in the sea is about 97% when the trumpet separator is oriented on the port bulwark departed 2m from the side roller.
The pedestrian traffic flow has more complicated microscopic features than vehicular traffic flow. Without any designated lanes or any guidance, pedestrians naturally move and change their routes in two dimensional domain with ease. Thus the assessment of pedestrian comfort level should be considering the microscopic features of pedestrian flow. This study is aimed at developing pedestrian comfort criteria based upon pedestrian flow simulation model. This study suggests three criteria to determine pedestrian comfort level; the deviation of route, the acceleration of walk, and the number of collision. Each criterion, which can address the unique walking patterns of pedestrian flow, is represented as each different function with respect to traffic flow rate. The criteria can be the additional indicators to determine the level of service of pedestrian flow together with traffic flow rate and walking speed.
The cage of a tapered roller bearing keeps the gap between the rollers, which prevents friction, wear and suppresses heating. The material of the cage is changing from metal to plastic for lightening the weight. If the cage is severely deformed due to resonance, the roller may not be able to roll and even get off the cage. In this paper, the dynamic characteristics of the cage is analyzed according to the cage material. Under the assumption that a train runs at the highest speed, frequency harmonics of that speed is calculated, and the comparative analysis is carried out in order to select the optimum thickness of the cage, which is easy to change among the cage design variables for avoiding the resonance.
An experiment was performed to obtain cryopreservation techniques of starry flounder (Platichthys stellatus) sperm. Milt obtained from 24 males were cryopreserved using two diluents, artificial seminal plasma (ASP) and Stein's solution (SS) with three cryoprotectants, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), methanol, and glycerol concentrated from 5% to 20%. Post-thaw sperm activity (motility and/or speed) revealed the highest in 10% DMSO and 15% methanol in ASP and SS as diluent. Motility and speed of cryopreserved sperm were decreased according to increase of glycerol concentration. To conclude, DMSO was a better cryoprotectant than methanol or glycerol for cryopreservation of starry flounder sperm. Glycerol was incongruent cryoprotectant because of toxic to starry flounder sperm. Most cryopreserved spermatozoa without cryoprotectant showed the enlarged head with granulated chromatin and ruptured plasma membrane by freezing and thawing injuries compared with unfrozen normal spermatozoa.

Stereochemistries of acetoxy 1,3-oxathiolane 1 were determined by two methods. First, the structures of $\alpha$ isomer 7 and $\beta$ isomer 9 were confirmed by the difference of their conversion rates to dihydrooxathiin 2 under acid catalysis. When the acetoxy leaving group is located in trans relationship to sulfur, a isomer in which carboxanilide is less hindered sterically against the 1,3-oxathiolane ring is $\beta$ isomer 7, and the other isomer of which the reaction rate is slower than 7 is $\beta$ isomer 9. Second, in the deuterium reactions of diastereomeric sulfoxides, the isomers of which methine hydrogen is substituted to deuterium were cis isomers 15 and 17, and another isomers of which methyl hydrogen is substituted to deuterium were trans isomers 16 and 18. Substitution of either methine or methyl hydrogen to deuterium resulted from stereospecific ring opening followed by recyclization by [2,3] sigmatropic rearrangement.
The rates of hydrolysis of aryl phenylacetates have been measured in the presence of piperidine in 80% acetonitrile-20% water(v/v). For the electron withdrawing substituents of leaving group, the hydrolysis is catalyzed by a general base and the Hammett $\rho_{LG}$ and Bronsted value $\beta$ are 5.28 and -2.72 at $30^{\circ}C$, respectively. These high senstivities of Hammett and Bronsted values are $E1_{C}B$ mechanism. But in the electron donating ones, the hydrolysis is catalyzed by a specific base and $B_{AC}2 mechanism is predominated. $pK_{SH}'s of phenylacetic acid ester and rate constants of hydrolysis $k_1$, $k_{-1)$, $k_2$ were calculated.
A new frequency weighing sensor was applied to grow Bi12GeO20 crystals in the auto-di-ameter control system of Czochralski method. The rotation rate was varied in the range of 23 to 21 rpm to preserve flat interface in a given heat configuration. To prevent the constitutional super-cooling from the evaporation loss, 105% stoichiometric amount of Bi2O3 was employed, equivalent to 6.18 molar ratio of Bi2O3 to GeO2. Transparent and light brown Bi12GeO20 single crystal in uniform diameter was grown. The dislocation density was determined to be 103/cm2 corresponding to the optical quality in commercial applications. The grown crystal measured diameter 25 mm and length 70 mm and the preferred growth direction was confirmed to be <110>.
