A Study on the mechanism of Dispersive Mixing in Blends of PC and SAN (PC/SAN 블렌드의 분산혼련 작용기구에 관한 연구)

  • 폴리카보네이트와 스티렌-아크릴로니트릴 공중합체의 블렌드를 이축 압출기에서 용 융혼련할 경우의 분산혼련 작용기구를 연구하였다. 분산상 형성에 관계되는 지배적인 과정 은 sheet, lace 및 ligament 생성에 이어 Rayleigh 형태의 불안정성에 기인한 구형의 분산상 (droplet) 형성으로 확인되었다. 분산상과 연속상의 점도비와 분산상의 크기에 대한 상관관 계의 조사에서는 주어진 점도비의 범위에서 점도비 약 70인 경우를 제외하고는 거의 무관한 관계를 나타내었으며 이는 이축 압출기의 강력한 혼련요소인 kneading 부위에서 주어지는 연신 흐름장에 의한 영향을 반영한 것으로 해석되었다. 분산상의 최종크기는 오히려 분산상 들간의 coales-cence 정도에 크게 영향을 받았으며 연속상의 점도가 상대적으로 낮은 경우 에 동일한 분산상에 대한 coalescence 정도가 심화되어 분산상의 크기가 증가되었다.

Modeling and Parametric Studies on Moment-Curvature Relation of a Reinforced Concrete Column Subject In Axial-toad and Bi-Axil Moment (축하중과 이축모멘트를 받는 철근콘크리트 기둥의 모멘트-곡률에 관한 모델링 및 변수고찰)

  • A analytical model is developed which can simulate a complete inelastic biaxial moment-curvature relations of a reinforced concrete column. The model can simulate sudden drop in moment capacity after peak moment and due to spalling of cover concrete. Parametric studies are performed examine the effects of constituent material properties as well as topological arrangement of reinforcements on moment-curvature relations and P-M interaction curve. It has been analytically observed that ductility of a reinforced concrete column is influenced mostly by magnitude of the axial load and spacings or the volume of lateral reinforcements. Compared to ACI P-M interaction curve, overall increase about 10% in square root of sum of squares of axial force and moment, and about 20% in peak load are observed for the columns reinforced according to ACI seismic design code.

Characteristics of the Progressive Brittle Failure around Circular Opening by Scaled Model Test and Discrete Element Analysis (축소 모형시험과 개별 요소 해석에 의한 원형 공동 주변의 점진적 취성파괴 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Progressive and localized brittle failures around an excavated opening by the overstressed condition can act as a serious obstacle to ensure the stability and the economical efficiency of construction work. In this paper, the characteristics of the brittle failure around an circular opening with stress level was studied by the biaxial compressive test using sealed specimen and by the numerical simulation with $PFC^{2D}$, one of the discrete element codes. The occurring pattern and shape of the brittle failure around a circular opening monitored during the biaxial loading were well coincided with those of the stress induced failures around the excavated openings observed in the brittle rock masses. The crack development stages with stress level were evaluated by the detailed analysis on the acoustic emission event properties. The microcrack development process around a circular opening was successfully visualized by the particle flow analysis. It indicated that the scaled test had a good feasibility in understanding the mechanism of the brittle failure around an opening with a high reliability.

Influence of the Insulating Properties on Charge Injection Phenomena of Biaxially-Drawn Polypropylene Film (이축 연신된 폴리프로필렌 필름의 전하주입 현상이 절연특성에 미치는 영향)

  • The reduction in dielectric strength of insulating polymer material when applying electric field is known to be substantial due to the trapped carrier effect. In this study, the carrier property of Biaxially-Drawn polypropylene, which has superior heat-resistance compared to ordinary one, is examined to improve electrical characteristics by measuring TSC spectra as a function of electric field applied to a sample of ($50{\mu}m$) thickness film. The TSC spectra in the temperature range of 303-413(K) and electric field of 2-80(MV/m) have shown no observable effect below 12(MV 1m) but TSC currents of Hetero-and Homo-peaks formed from trapped space charger and space charger injected from electrode have been observed above that point, which seems eventually lead to dielectric breakdown. Finally, this study has shown the superior dielectric proporty of Biaxially-Drawn polypropylene film compared to the non-oriented one for electrical insulation.

Behavior of Fatigue Crack Initiation and Propagation under Cyclic Tensile or Torsional Loading with Superimposed Static Biaxial Load (이축 정적 하중이 부가된 반복 인장 혹은 비틀림 하중하에서 균열 발생과 성장 거동)

  • Fatigue crack initiation and propagation behavior under cyclic biaxial loading has been investigated using thin-walled tubular specimen with a hole. Two types of biaxial loading system, i.e. cyclic tensile loading with super-imposed static torsional load and cyclic torsional loading with superimposed static tensile load, with various values of the biaxial loading ratio, $\tau$ s/ $\sigma$ max (or $\tau$ max/ $\sigma$s) were employed. Fatigue tests show that fatigue crack near the hole initiates and propagates at 900 and 450 direction to the longitudinal direction of the specimen under cyclic tensile and torsion loading with static biaxial stress, respectively, and the static biaxial stress doesn't have any great influence on fatigue crack initiation and growth direction. Stress analysis near the hole of the specimen shows that the crack around the hole initiates along the plane of maximum tangential stress range. Fatigue crack growth rates were evaluated as functions of equivalent stress intensity factor range, strain energy density factor range and crack tip opening displacement vector, respectively. It is shown that the biaxial mode fatigue crack growth rates can be relatively consistently predicted with these cyclic parameters.
