  • Experiments have been conducted to investigate synergistic effects and mechanisms of the Alaskan subbituminous coal/polypropylene (PP). Coliquefaction of coal/PP gave the synergistic effect in yields by 17% compared to independent liquefactions of coal or PP at $430^{\circ}C$. To analyse coliquefaction mechanisms, the second and zeroth order kinetic models were developed for coal and PP conversions respectively. When the models were simulated to fit coliquefaction results, those represented results successfully with the correlation coefficient of 0.99. The amount of tetralin needed to liquefy unit mass of coa 1(${\beta}$) was also calculated using the developed model. According to the calculated results, $\beta$ increased from 0.4 to 1.0 as the coliquefaction temperature increased from $410^{\circ}C$ to $470^{\circ}C$. This indicated that tetralin lowered the molecular weight of oil produced, and this phenomenon was recognized by the GPC analyses. Furthermore, it was found that tetralin prohibited the liquefaction of PP when coal was not added. On the other hand, tetralin was believed to act as a hydrogen-donor solvent to coal rather than prohibit PP liquefaction during coliquefaction. Therefore, the liquefaction rate of PP increases and synergistic effects in oil yields are mainly due to the increase in PP liquefaction during coal/PP coliquefaction.

  • In this paper, we proposed a Hangeul detection method using structural features of histogram, consonant, and vowel to solve the problem of Hangul which is separated and detected consonant and vowel The proposed method removes background by using DoG (Difference of Gaussian) to remove unnecessary noise in Hangul detection process. In the image with the background removed, we converted it to a binarized image using a cumulative histogram. Then, the horizontal position histogram was used to find the position of the character string, and character combination was performed using the vertical histogram in the found character image. However, words with a consonant vowel such as '가', '라' and '귀' are combined using a structural characteristic of characters because they are difficult to combine into one character. In this experiment, an image composed of alphabets with various backgrounds, an image composed of Korean characters, and an image mixed with alphabets and Hangul were tested. The detection rate of the proposed method is about 2% lower than that of the K-means and MSER character detection method, but it is about 5% higher than that of the character detection method including Hangul.

  • This paper is a study of Gustav Deutsch's film (2013). The film transformed the painting of Edward Hopper into an homage film. So it gives the impression that the picture is moving. In this regard, it raises the issue of 'remediation' between film and pictures. In this study, We ask how (2013) dealt with the movement in turning Hopper's paintings into movies. To that end, To this end, we look at two aspects of movement: the actor's movement and the screen's movement. The concepts of "tableau vivant," Agamben's gesture and mediation were used in the process. The actor's movement in the film is not an act of making and developing events. It is a gesture that moves a person's body and expression itself. It is not a story-oriented acting, but a gesture that Giorgio Agamben said. Editing and camera movements are used while maintaining frontality. This suggests that the movement of the screen is the eye of the audience. At first glance, it embodies the voyeuristic gaze of the original work. However, But the audience isn't looking at the image unilaterally, as in mainstream fiction films, but they are also being seen by that image. Also, the camera's movement to take a closer look at the details of the screen shows the movement itself rather than the means to reveal the details. The 'vision of reality' in a film is made through movement. The film questions the vision of reality between painting and film, between words and images. The move is a means of mediating reality, but the film is regaining the "lost gesture" that Giorgio Agamben once said by revealing its mediated nature. This tells us that the vision of reality appears when it obscures its mediated nature.

  • Lattice-based cryptography is the most practical post-quantum cryptography because it enjoys strong worst-case security, relatively efficient implementation, and simplicity. Ring learning with errors (R-LWE) is a public key encryption (PKE) method of lattice-based encryption (LBC), and the most important operation of R-LWE is the modular polynomial multiplication of rings. This paper proposes a method for optimizing modular multipliers based on approximate computing (AC) technology, targeting the medium-security parameter set of the R-LWE cryptosystem. First, as a simple way to implement complex logic, LUT is used to omit some of the approximate multiplication operations, and the 2's complement method is used to calculate the number of bits whose value is 1 when converting the value of the input data to binary. We propose a total of two methods to reduce the number of required adders by minimizing them. The proposed LUT-based modular multiplier reduced both speed and area by 9% compared to the existing R-LWE modular multiplier, and the modular multiplier using the 2's complement method reduced the area by 40% and improved the speed by 2%. appear. Finally, the area of the optimized modular multiplier with both of these methods applied was reduced by up to 43% compared to the previous one, and the speed was reduced by up to 10%.

  • The technology of Three-dimensional human posture estimation is used in sports, motion recognition, and special effects of video media. Among various methods for this, multi-view 3D human pose estimation is essential for precise estimation even in complex real-world environments. But Existing models for multi-view 3D human posture estimation have the disadvantage of high order of time complexity as they use 3D feature maps. This paper proposes a method to extend an existing monocular viewpoint multi-frame model based on Transformer with lower time complexity to 3D human posture estimation for multi-viewpoints. To expand to multi-viewpoints our proposed method first generates an 8-dimensional joint coordinate that connects 2-dimensional joint coordinates for 17 joints at 4-vieiwpoints acquired using the 2-dimensional human posture detector, CPN(Cascaded Pyramid Network). This paper then converts them into 17×32 data with patch embedding, and enters the data into a transformer model, finally. Consequently, the MLP(Multi-Layer Perceptron) block that outputs the 3D-human posture simultaneously updates the 3D human posture estimation for 4-viewpoints at every iteration. Compared to Zheng[5]'s method the number of model parameters of the proposed method was 48.9%, MPJPE(Mean Per Joint Position Error) was reduced by 20.6 mm (43.8%) and the average learning time per epoch was more than 20 times faster.

  • In recent years the amount of digital video used has risen dramatically to keep pace with the increasing use of the Internet and consequently an automated method is needed for indexing digital video databases. Textual information, both superimposed and embedded scene texts, appearing in a digital video can be a crucial clue for helping the video indexing. In this paper, a new method is presented to extract both superimposed and embedded scene texts in a freeze-frame of news video. The algorithm is summarized in the following three steps. For the first step, a color image is converted into a gray-level image and applies contrast stretching to enhance the contrast of the input image. Then, a modified local adaptive thresholding is applied to the contrast-stretched image. The second step is divided into three processes: eliminating text-like components by applying erosion, dilation, and (OpenClose+CloseOpen)/2 morphological operations, maintaining text components using (OpenClose+CloseOpen)/2 operation with a new Geo-correction method, and subtracting two result images for eliminating false-positive components further. In the third filtering step, the characteristics of each component such as the ratio of the number of pixels in each candidate component to the number of its boundary pixels and the ratio of the minor to the major axis of each bounding box are used. Acceptable results have been obtained using the proposed method on 300 news images with a recognition rate of 93.6%. Also, my method indicates a good performance on all the various kinds of images by adjusting the size of the structuring element.

  • Raman spectroscopy has been receiving increased attention as a standoff explosive detection technique. In addition, there is a growing need for a fast search method that can identify raman spectrum for measured chemical substances compared to known raman spectra in large database. By far the most simple and widely used method is to calculate and compare the Euclidean distance between the given spectrum and the spectra in a database. But it is non-trivial problem because of the inherent high dimensionality of the data. One of the most serious problems is the high computational complexity of searching for the closet spectra. To overcome this problem, we presented the MPS Sort with Sorted Variance+PDS method for the fast algorithm to search for the closet spectra in the last paper. the proposed algorithm uses two significant features of a vector, mean values and variance, to reject many unlikely spectra and save a great deal of computation time. In this paper, we present two new methods for the fast algorithm to search for the closet spectra. the PCA+PDS algorithm reduces the amount of computation by reducing the dimension of the data through PCA transformation with the same result as the distance calculation using the whole data. the Hierarchical Cluster Tree algorithm makes a binary hierarchical tree using PCA transformed spectra data. then it start searching from the clusters closest to the input spectrum and do not calculate many spectra that can not be candidates, which save a great deal of computation time. As the Experiment results, PCA+PDS shows about 60.06% performance improvement for the MPS Sort with Sorted Variance+PDS. also, Hierarchical Tree shows about 17.74% performance improvement for the PCA+PDS. The results obtained confirm the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

  • In this paper, high LO-RF isolation W-band MIMIC single-balanced mixer was designed and fabricated using a branch line coupler and a $\lambda$/4 transmission line. The simulation results of the designed 94 GHz balun show return loss of -27.9 dB, coupling of -4.26 dB, and thru of -3.77 dB at 94 GHz, respectively. The isolation and phase difference were 23.5 dB and $180.2^{\circ}$ at 94 GHz. The W-band MIMIC single-balanced mixer was designed using the 0.1 $\mu$m InGaAs/InAlAs/GaAs Metamorphic HEMT diode. The fabricated MHEMT was obtained the cut-off frequency(fT) of 189 GHz and the maximum oscillation frequency(fmax) of 334 GHz. The designed MIMIC single-balanced mixer was fabricated using 0.1 $\mu$m MHEMT MIMIC Process. From the measurement, the conversion loss of the single-balanced mixer was 23.1 dB at an LO power of 10 dBm. Pl dB(1 dB compression point) of input and output were 10 dBm and -13.9 dBm respectively. The LO-RF isolations of single-balanced mixer was obtained 45.5 dB at 94.19 GHz. We obtained in this study a higher LO-RF isolation compared to some other balanced mixers in millimeter-wave frequencies.

  • Objective: This study compared the bone thickness of the palate between lateral cephalogram and 3D model measurements. Methods: The subjects consisted of 30 adults (15 men,15 women) with a normal skeletal pattern and occlusion. The CT images were transformed to a 3D model, and were compared with the cephalometric image. Descriptive statistics for each variable were calculated. Results: In the 3D CT model, the mid-palatal area was the thickest part. It became thinner as the palate tapered laterally. In the male group, the thinnest portion was positioned 6 mm away from the mid-palate, while in the female group the thinnest portion was 8mm away from the mid-palate. Correlation analysis between the lateral cephalometric and 3D CT model revealed a significant correlation except in the mid palatal area and the area 2 mm lateral to the mid-palate in men, whereas there was a significant relationship in every area in the women. In both men and women, the highest correlation appeared in the area 8 mm lateral to the mid palate. Conclusions: Using regression analysis, an actual prediction of the bone thickness between the measured bone thickness of the lateral cephalometric radiograph and 3D model was made. This will provide useful information for mini-implant length selection when inserting into the palate.
