Characterization and 3D Analysis of PETG/POE Thermoplastic Composites (PETG/POE 열가소성 복합재료의 특성평가 및 전산해석)

  • In order to apply thermoplastic composites using PETG resin to various industrial fields such as bicycle frames and industrial parts, it is necessary to verify the impact resistance, durability, mechanical properties and 3D analysis of the manufactured composite materials. To improve the mechanical properties, durability and impact resistance of PETG resin, an amorphous resin, in this study, compound and injection molding process were carried out enhanced various weight percent POE(polyolefin elastomer). The thermal and mechanical properties of the thermoplastic composites, and the charpy impact strength, The analysis was performed to evaluate the characteristics according to weight percent of POE. Charpy impact strength test was conducted to analyze the impact characteristics, and the fracture section was analyzed after the impact strength test. In the case of POE material-added thermoplastic composites, thermal and mechanical properties tend to decrease, but workability and impact resistance tend to be superior to those of PETG materials.

Synthesis and Ozone Resistance Characteristic of Fluorine-containing modified Polyurea (불소계 변성 폴리우레아의 합성 및 오존저항 특성)

  • The fluorine-containing modified polyurea was synthesized using the PTPE-diol to improve the ozone-resistance. Three types (PFDIA-10C, PFDIA-20C, PFDIA-30C) of the modified polyurea containing the fluorine content from 10 wt% to 30 wt% were prepared. After ozone treatment on the prepared films, the weight loss of film was investigated and analyzed the film properties such as hardness, wear resistance, tensile stress, elongation, etc. Also, the film surfaces were observed by the optical microscopy after ozone-resistance tests at 10 ppm for 336 h. It was shown that the defects such as the cracking, the bleaching and the mass loss were reduced and the ozone-resistance of films were improved when the contents of PFPE-diol are more than 20 wt%. It was found that the intensity of O-H peak in PFDIA compounds confirmed by FT-IR was decreased as fluorine contents were increasing.

Effect of Short Circuit Current Enhancement in Solar Cell by Quantum Well Structure and Quantitative Analysis of Elements Using Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry (양자우물구조에 의한 태양전지 단락전류 증가 효과와 이차이온 질량분석법에 의한 원소 정량 분석)

  • Characteristics of solar cells employing a lattice matched GaInP/GaAs quantum well (QW) structure in a single N-AlGaInP/p-InGaP heterojunction (HJ) were investigated and compared to those of solar cells without QW structure. The epitaxial layers were grown on a p-GaAs substrate with $6^{\circ}$ off the (100) plane toward the <111>A. The heterojunction of solar cell consisted of a 400 nm N-AlGaInP, a 590 nm p-GaInP and 14 periods of a 10 nm GaInP/5 nm GaAs for QW structure and a 800 nm p-GaInP for the HJ structure (control cell). The solar cells were characterized after the anti-reflection coating. The short-circuit current density for $1{\times}1mm^2$ area was $9.61mA/cm^2$ for the solar cell with QW structure while $7.06mA/cm^2$ for HJ control cells. Secondary ion mass spectrometry and external quantum efficiency results suggested that the significant enhancement of $J_{sc}$ and EQE was caused by the suppression of recombination by QW structure.

  • The development of a technique that can monitor the cracks, which is one of the typical types of damage, is necessary to secure the structural safety of elastically restrained cantilever-type beams with a tip mass that is used widely in infrastructure. Impedance techniques have been actively researched to detect cracks, and the cracks were estimated mainly by experimentally investigating the relationship between the crack and impedance signal. This study examined the correlation between the change in the impedance signals due to the crack, and the natural frequency obtained analytically. After updating the analysis model for the intact beam, the impedance signal was measured while gradually inflicting cracks in the cantilever-type beam, and the damage index was obtained. The results were compared with the natural frequencies calculated from the updated analysis model to investigate the correlation. A close correlation was observed between the experimentally obtained impedance damage index, and the analytically calculated natural frequency. Using this correlation, the structural characteristics could be evaluated more accurately from the damage estimation results, and the behavior of the structure could be predicted effectively using the analysis model.

  • Lead has been determined by Resonance Ionization Mass Spectrometry (RIMS) through one-color-two-photon ionization, two-color-two-photon ionization and three-color-three-photon ionization in a vacuum chamber equipped with Time-of-Flight(TOF) mass spectrometer. In all cases, the first excited state chosen was 6p7s($^3P_1$) state and the transition was at 283.3 nm in wavelength from the ground state. By using various concentrations of lead standard solutions, the calibration curve is obtained in the range of 0.1 ${\mu}g$ to 1.0 pg in both ionization schemes. The detection limit was estimated as 20 pg for the two-color ionization, while 10 pg for the three-color ionization experiment.

압전형 가속도계의 설계, 제작 및 보정 I

  • 오늘날 널리 연구되고 있고 공학자들에게 많은 관심을 끌고있는 압전 세라믹(ceramic)을 이용 하여 자연계에서 일어나는 각종 진동현상을 측정하고 해석하기 위한 센서(sensor)의 설계, 제작은 이미 선진국에서도 보편화된지 오래이다. 특히 압전형 가속도계(piezo type accelerometer)는 진동의 절대 측정에 가장 유용한 센서로 널리 알려져 있다. (1) 아주 넓은 사용 주파수 범위 (2) 넓은 동적범위(dynamic range)에 걸친 뛰어난 선형성(linearity) (3) 측정된 가속도 신호를 전기적으로 적분하여 속도와 변위에 대한 자료 제공 용이 (4) 높은 정확성 (5) 자발 전(self-generating)이므로 외부 전원 공급이 불필요 (6) 수명과 뛰어난 내구성 (7) 작은 크기와 가벼운 무게 등이다. 현재 기계 구조물 진동 측정에 이용되고 있는 스트레인 게이지 형(strain gage-type)의 가속도계는 감도가 좋고 저주파 진동 측정에는 편리한 반면 충격이나 높은 주파수 전동 측정에는 적합하지 않으며 내부 구조가 다소 복잡하다(2). 반면에 압전형 가 속도계는 압전 소자와 관성 질량의 조합 설계로서 저주파 진동 측정에 적합한 고감도의 가속도 계와, 감도는 떨어지나 아주 높은 주파수 범위의 진동까지 측정이 가능한 가속도계를 손쉽게 설계, 제작할 수 있다. 본 글에서는 선진국에 비해 낙후된 국내의 센서 설계, 제작 기술을 고 양시키고자 최근 한국과학기술원에서 시도된 압전형 가속도계의 개발 연구 사례를 중심으로 설계 및 제작시 고려 사항과 보정 문제를 소개하고자 한다.

  • The anode may inevitably undergo a number of reduction.oxidation (redox) cycles during solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) operation. The re-oxidation of Ni to NiO causes significant mechanical stress to be developed across the anode, which may destroy the integrity of the whole cell. In this study, the redox behavior of Ni-YSZ composite was examined at $800^{\circ}C$ using various characterization techniques.

  • 차세대 에너지로 연료전지가 각광을 받고 있는 현재, 세계 각국에서는 연료전지의 상용화를 위해 노력하고 있다. 그러나 촉매분야에서 백금계 촉매의 사용량의 문제에 따른 매장량 한계점과 귀금속이라는 문제점이 존재하기 때문에 이에 대하여 대책강구가 필요한 시점이다. 이에 백금 촉매의 활성을 증대하고자 나노 크기의 제어 연구가 진행되고 있다. 또한, 촉매의 구조적인 면에 따라 촉매의 활성이 달라지는 점을 착안하여 백금계의 나노 형상 조절 연구와 백금계 촉매를 대체할 비백금계의 촉매 개발 연구가 활발히 진행되어지고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 백금계 촉매 중 Pd을 polyol process에 의한 나노 형상 조절을 통하여 단위 질량당(or 단위 부피당) 촉매의 활성을 높이고자 하였다. Polyol process에서는 환원제, 계면활성제, 온도, 시간, 기타 첨가제에 따라 나노 형상이 다르게 조절되는데, 이에 계면활성제로 PVP를 사용하고, 반응속도 및 형상조절을 위해 다양한 첨가제를 이용하여 polygonal Pd NPs을 형성하였다. 본 나노 형상 조절에서는 첨가제와 온도가 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인으로 착안하여 그에 따른 polygoanl Pd NPs의 사이즈 조절을 통해 전기화학 특성이 차이의 연구에 중점을 두었다. 이에 따라 나노 형상 조절이 된 Pd촉매를 이용하여 상용화된 촉매(Pd/C(XC-72R))에 비하여 전기화학적인 특성의 차이와 Pd 촉매의 촉매적 특성의 효과를 보고자 한다.

Finite Element Model for the Hydrodynamic Analysis in a River (하천에서의 동수력학적 유동해석을 위한 유한요소모형의 개발)

  • A finite element model RIV-FEM2 for the hydrodynamic study in a river is developed based on two-dimensional shallow water wave equation and dissipative Galerkin's method. RIV-FEM2 consists of pre-processing, analysis processing and post-processing. Pre- and analysis processing is programmed with Fortran-77 and post-processing with turbo-Pascal respectively. The model is tested with two dimensional problems, including flow through bends, bridges, and symmetric contraction. The two dimensional tests shows stable and efficient results for various situations. Applicability of the model is verified by applying to natural river. The model will provide a basic contribution to the hydrodynamic analysis in a river.

  • To reduce the soot and NOx simultaneously, a new system of stratified injection is developed. This system discharges stratified diesel-methanol in a D. I. Diesel Engine. Nozzle and delivery valve of conventional injection system were remodeled to inject diesel and methanol from one injector sequently. The quantity of diesel and methanol was controled precisely by micrometers mounted on the injection control lack. The real injection ratio of dual fuel was measured by volumetric ratio. We could confirm the capabilities that soot and NOx simultaneously were reduced by diesel-methanol stratified injection from the results of in-cylinder pressure data obtained from combustion experiment by stratified injection, heat release rate and mass fraction bumed.
