  • The purpose of this study is to compare and analyse the differences between a customized small finger made by 3D printing technology, a real small finger, and the other made from plaster of an orthotic company. The areas and the volumes of each cross-section were measured by Computer tomography(CT) and a 3D scanner and analysis of variance was performed to find out the differences of each shape. The areas of the point of 15.69mm, Distal Interphalangel Joints, were measured 30 times respectively using the caliper toll function of Picture Archiving Communication System(PASC) program. The volumes were measured by Configure Units of Meshmixer Program. There was no significant difference in the areas between three of them and there was 0.2 mm gap in the volume, which was more than the significance probability. Therefore, the result of this study shows the availability of finger orthoses made by 3D printing technology in the medical field.

  • This paper examined the problems concerning recognition of business selection and operation, etc. and the presentation of the corresponding improvement measures. For this purpose, according to the results of a questionnaire survey on recognition of detailed business operation of the fire safety shared tax, satisfaction in business execution, financial operation measures for the subject of fire fighters, fire fighters have been shown to be indifferent to the detailed business field of fire safety shared tax, investment contents, etc. in the operation of fire safety shared tax. In terms of satisfaction after execution of the shared tax, reduction of the aging rates for firefighting equipment and improvement of dissemination rate was shown to be high with Fire Sergeant (M = 3.70) and a service duration of more than 16 years (M=3.64). To improve the measures of finance, there was considerable feedback saying that the reduction in state subsidy was inappropriate. In view of the diversification and development of the fire safety shared tax businesses being operated on a limited basis along with the overlap of most state subsidy businesses with safety field businesses, legal system improvement is needed for the stable securing of insufficient firefighting financial resources so that the full amount of shared tax can be invested in firefighting fields.

  • Based on a two-year measurement data, major sources for the ambient carbonaceous aerosols at the Anmyeon Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) station were identified by using the Positive Matrix Factorization (PMF) model. The particulate matter less than or equal to $2.5{\mu}m$ in aerodynamic diameter (PM2.5) aerosols were sampled between June 2015 to May 2017 and carbonaceous species including ~80 organic compounds were analyzed. When the number of factors was 5 or 6, the performance evaluation parameters showed the best results, With 6 factor case, the characteristics of transported factors were clearer. The 6 factors were identified with various analyses including chemical characteristics and air parcel movement analysis. The 6 factors with their relative contributions were (1) anthropogenic Secondary Organic Aerosols (SOA) (10.3%), (2) biogenic sources (24.8%), (3) local biomass burning (26.4%), (4) transported biomass burning (7.3%), (5) combustion related sources (12.0%), and (6) transported sources (19.2%). The air parcel movement analysis result and seasonal variation of the contribution of these factors also supported the identification of these factors. Thus, the Anmyeon Island GAW station has been affected by both regional and local sources for the carbonaceous aerosols.

  • It is required to monitor and assess the desertification in Tunisia, where the Sahara Desert, which is located in the southern part of Tunisia, is recently expanding northward. In this study, by using remote sensed data, land cover changes were examined, and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), Topsoil Grain Size Index (TGSI) and Albedo are used to monitor and assess desertification in Tunisia. Decision Tree was constructed, and the frequencies and trends of each assessment indicator, desertification degree and land cover were identified. In addition, we analyzed the correlation between assessment indicators and precipitation. As a result, desertification is generally intensifying northward, especially in areas with high levels of desertification. Also, bivariate correlation analysis showed that Albedo, NDVI and TGSI were all highly correlated with precipitation. It indicates that changes in precipitation have also been shown to affect Tunisian desertification. In conclusion, this study has improved the usability of various methodologies considering the assessment indicators based on satellite imagery, Decision Tree, which is a method of evaluating them complexly, and trends of land cover change.

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the inhibiting factors of dying well for people who want to have a good death. The final respondents in this study were sampled using stratified proportional allocation using a stratified random sampling method, and 1,000 adults aged between 19 and 75 years were selected. The questionnaire used consisted of four items on general characteristics and 20 items related to the inhibiting factors of dying well scored on a 7-point Likert scale. Analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and decision tree analysis. Results showed that, among the inhibiting factors of dying well, "degenerative diseases (such as dementia)" and "loss of control (mental / physical)" scored 5.502 and 5.268 points, respectively; the highest significant positive correlation was found between "bad marital relationship" and "bad relationship with children," followed by "did not receive death education" and "lack of medical policy promotion (dying well)" and "bad relationship with children" and "indifference of others." Considering these findings, it appears that the whole society will make efforts to improve the perception and practice of good death, and life and death education will be expanded if death education for dying well is organized and implemented.

  • This study is about the elderly people's use and experience of Virtual Reality (VR) in order to enhance their quality of life. Leisure is main activity of the elderly. As a result, the quality and diversity of leisure affects the quality of the elderly people's life. VR services including video contents could provide them with advanced and interesting experiences. Across the world, population aging becomes one of the most important problems in each society. The social and economic burden of aging is serious challenge to sustainability welfare of the world, including S. Korea. The authors used virtual reality devices to conduct experiments on 99 aged 50 to 90 (men's average age : 75 and women's average age : 70.8). Through the survey, major variants were measured such as system quality, present sense, enjoyment, intent to reuse, and awareness of advanced technology. Multiple regression analyses with the presence as a dependent variable resulted in a sense of closeness (t = 5.381, p <. 01) and a sense of clarity (t = 4.494, p <. 01). The presence of an independent variant had significant effects on pleasure (t = 4.312, p <. 01) and significant effects on the intent to reuse (t = 3.323,).Therefore, it can be interpreted that the higher the sense of existence, the more pleasure and the intent to reuse it. As a result, the possibility of using VR devices and content to enjoy leisure activities can be found in this study even if the elderly group is unfamiliar with IT devices.

  • This study is on the elderly people's use and experience of pet robots (companion robots). Applying companion robots for the elderly's daily lives can enhance their quality of life. Leisure is main activity of the elderly who are out of work. Therefore, the quality and diversity of leisure can affect the quality of their life. Companion Robots could provide them with more advanced and interesting experiences. Around the world, population aging becomes one of the most important trends in each country. The social and economic burden of aging is serious challenge on sustainability of the world, including S. Korea. The authors examine use of Companion Robots for elderly (from 50 years old to 90 years old). In this experiment, the authors study and measure many factors including system quality, interface quality, displeasure, enjoyment, willingness to reuse, perception on new technology. In regression analysis, intimacy(t=-2.006, p<.05) is significant factor on displeasure of Companion Robot. In another regression, displeasure of Companion Robot (independent variable) is significant factor on enjoyment(t=-3.327, p<.01) and willingness to reuse(t=-2.636, p<.01). Therefore, when elderly one feels less displeasure of Companion Robot, he/she feels more enjoyment and willingness to reuse. As a result, the elderly who don't familiar to new technology could improve quality of life and leisure activity by using companion robot.

  • This study aimed to investigate the impact of arthritis self-management education on changes in arthritis-related knowledge levels and arthritis-specific self-efficacy among elderly individuals at a senior center. This study was conducted with one group pre-test and post-test design. The participants included 48 elderly individuals who utilized four senior centers, and they received arthritis self-management education for three weeks. Data analysis used a paired t-test to compare the effects before and after education. The results of the study showed that arthritis self-management education significantly increased arthritis-related knowledge (t=9.17, p<0.001) and arthritis-specific self-efficacy (t=3.96, p<0.001). There were significant differences in knowledge and self-efficacy levels by age group, with the results varying among participants aged 85 and above. These findings suggest that a three-week education program is appropriate for improving arthritis-related knowledge and self-efficacy among the elderly, and that education should be tailored to different age groups.
