Pulmonary Artery Aneurysm in Behcet's Disease (베체트 질환에 발생한 폐동맥류 -치험 1예-)

  • Behcet's disease is classically described as featuring recurrent aphthous ulcers in the mouth and genital organs and as having relapsing iritis. Now it is being recognized as a mul tisystem disorder that involves of the skin, gastrointestinal system, cardiovascular system, lung and the central nervous system as well as the joints, blood vessels and urologic systems. Large vessel diseases are unusual but aneurysm may occur in which the pulmonary circulation may give rise to the massive and often fatal hemoptysis. A 29 year-old man who complained of having dyspnea and hemoptysis during six months visited our hospital. He received right bilobectomy for a mass located in the right lower lobe. He underwent right bilobectomy. The final pathologic diagnosis was a pulmonary artery aneurysm which origina ted from the pulmonary artery.

  • An eight-year-old boy was referred to our hospital with cough and high fever. His past medical history included a small sized ventricular septal defect (VSD) at birth. Transthoracic echocardiography disclosed a 10 x 6 mm vegetation on tricuspid valve, a small VSD and the moderate tricuspid valve insufficiency were found. Blood cultures grew methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus. Despite proper antibiotic therapy, fever was not controlled and his course was complicated by pulmonary infarction. The patient simultaneously underwent pulmonary resection and open heart surgery. Through the median sternotomy we performed open thrombectomy and lobectomy (right lower lobe) at first, and then vegetectomy, tricuspid valve repair, and direct closure of VSD were done under cardiopulmonary bypass.

  • We experienced a case of benign clear cell tumor of the lung. It is a rare and very unusual pulmonary neoplasm. Only 40 cases have been reported in the foreign literatures, but this is the 2nd case report in Korea. A 43 year old man who revealed a coin lesion in the chest X-ray at the health screening, underwent resection of the right lower lobe Pathologically the tumor ce ls have a clear cytoplasm due to abundant glycogen in the histochemical and electron microscopical studies.

  • 데이비슨에서부터 시작됐다고 해도 과언이 아닌 것으로 보이는 정신적 속성들의 인과적 힘과 관련된 논의 - 정신인과의 문제를 해결하기 위해서 설정하는 - 는 그가 주장한 이론이 맞이하게 되는 심각한 문제에 해결책을 제시하고자 하는 많은 책학자들의 관심을 불러일으킨다. 그 중의 하나인 포돌도 결국 데이비슨이 주장한 세 가지의 원리들 중에서 중요한 한가지 원리, 즉 정신적인 것들의 무법칙성의 원리, 를 거절하면서 자신의 정신인과 이론을 발전시키고자 한다. 즉 정신적 속성들과 물리적 속성들을 연결시키는 "참 인과의 법칙으로서 다른 것들이 같다면의 법칙"을 정신인과의 현상을 설명하는 그의 설명적 모델로 제시하면서 데이비슨의 문제를 해결하려고 시도한다. 그러나 그가 스케치하는 그런 그림은 인과적 배제의 원리를 명백하게 위반하는 것이다. 설상가상으로 이러한 문제를 벗어나기 위해서 그가 의지하는 수반의 개념도 그 효력은 충분하게 강하지 못한 것으로 드러난다. 이것이 틀리지 않다면 여기서 어떤 딜레마가 일어난다. 만약 정신적 속성들이 아직까지 인과적으로 효력을 가지고 있다면 명백하게 물리적 세계의 인과적 폐쇄의 원리의 위반이 일어난다. 만약 정신적 속성들이 인과적 효력을 가지고 있지 않다면 우리는 여기서 명백히 부수현상론을 보게 된다.

  • Study and application result of power controller to research reactor is presented. Considering safety-oriented design concept and other control environment, we developed a simple closed-loop controller that provides limiting function of power-change-rate as well as low-overshoot and fine tracking performance. The design result has been well-proven via simulation and actual application to a research reactor.

  • Intervention levels for foodstuff restriction in a radiological emergency in Korea are suggested based on the justification and the optimization through the cost-benefit approach method from IAEA Safty Series 109 recommendation. Intervention levels are specified for three broad groups of radionuclides with similar values of committed effective dose per unit intake and specified for two broad categories of foodstuff grouped according to value per kg. It is also discussed on the applicability of revised intervention levels for foodstuff restriction.

  • The metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor(MOSFET) has undergone many changes in the last decade in response to the constant demand for increased speed, decreased power, and increased patting density. The devices are scaled down day by day. Therefore, This paper investigates how MOSFET structures influence on transport properties in according to change of channel length and bias and, observes impact ionization between the drain and the gate. This paper proposes three models, i.e., conventional MOSFET, LDD MOSFET and EPI MOSFET. The gate lengths are 0.3$\mu\textrm{m}$ 0.15$\mu\textrm{m}$, 0.075$\mu\textrm{m}$ and scaling factor is λ = 2.   • Catalytic activity such as conversion and selectivity on the phenol hydroxylation over TS-1 prepared by hydrothermal method and microwave heating method, respectively, was compared and discussed for understanding the dependence of solvent such as water, methanol, acetone, respectively, during phenol hydroxylation, with hydrogen peroxide. Basic physical properties such as XRD, EDS, SEM and $N_{2}$ adsorption/desorption were determined and compared. The relationship between catalytic activity and physical properties of TS-1 was explained.

  • In this study, the impact load on concrete compression member was considered to assess the quantitative damage index. The case study was carried out using the LS-DYNA, on explicit finite element analysis program. The parameters for the case study were impact load angle, slenderness ratio, etc. Using the analysis results, the performance based design method for impact load was developed using Bayesian probabilistic method, which can be applied to reinforced concrete column design for impact loads.

  • 한국천문연구원의 대형광학망원경 개발사업(K-GMT)의 세 가지 세부 목표 중 GMT 망원경 건설 후 GMT 망원경 활용 극대화가 그 하나이며 이 목표를 달성하기 위한 두 부류의 큰 활동이 이루어지고 있다. 첫째, 국내 전문가로 구성된 과학.기기 워킹그룹(Science Instrument Working Group)은 한국천문학계 연구역량강화 프로그램을 준비하고 시행하고 있으며 2012년 K-GMT 여름학교를 개최할 예정이다. 둘째, 천문연은 2개의 핵심연구주제를 선정하고 2011년부터 학계와 공동으로 pilot 연구를 수행하고 있다. 이 학연공동연구에서는 AAT를 이용한 남반구 별탄생영역 관측, CFHT를 이용한 은하단/은하군 관측을 수행하였고 2012년엔 UKIRT 망원경을 이용하여 우리은하평면의 [FeII] 서베이 관측 등을 수행할 계획이다.
