The Conjoint Analysis of Users' Preference on the VODs of the Newly-released Movies (최신 영화 VOD 이용자의 선호도에 대한 컨조인트 분석)

  • This study examined the importance of independent variables that affect users' preference on the VODs of the newly-released movies by using the conjoint analysis. The results demonstrated that 'price(44.6%)' is the most important variable, which is followed by 'device(24.5%)', 'recency(18.0%)', 'producing country(12.9%)'. Respondents obtained the relatively high utility from watching the VOD of a Korean movie currently on screen in 3,000 wons. A television set was the most preferable device for watching VODs. The traditional windowing strategy in the media content market has been recently challenged by the new trend that the holdback period between market windows is ignored and the high-priced content is found in the second window. Nevertheless, this study demonstrated that users of the VODs of the newly-released movies are still very sensitive to the price and consider 'the recency' to be relatively less important than 'price'.

  • 전기통신 요금은 전기통신 사업자가 제공하는 서비스 이용에 대한 반대 급부로서 이용자가 지불하는 가격이라 정의할 수 있다. 전기통신 서비스에 대한 요금결정은 서비스 원가주의(Cost of service principle)와 서비스 가치주의(value of service principle)로 나눌수 있다. IP charging의 필요성은 크게 사용자 측면, 망사업자 측면, ISP을 고려 해야 할 것이다. ITU에서 IP Charging에 대한 관한 표준화연구를 시작한지 2년이 지난 오늘까지 뚜렷한 결과물이 제시되고 있지 않으므로 본 고는 일반적인 과금의 원칙 및 ATM과금 표준에서 제안한 과금요소를 예제로 하여 현재 ITU-T나 IPDR(IP Detail Record)의 표준화 동향을 살펴보고 IP 요금의 표준화방향에 대해 고려할 점을 논의하기로 한다.

  • 인터넷접속 시장에서 독점적 지위를 점유하여 왔던 014XY 인터넷접속 서비스 이용자가 ASDL로 전환하는 과정과 그 원인을 규명하고 향후 최저속도를 보장하는 다양한 상품의 ADSL이 출시될 경우 가입자가 선호하는 상품속도별 요금체계를 파악하기 위해 초고속 인터넷접속 서비스 선호도 및 가격감수성을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 일반모뎀(주로 56K 모뎀) 이용자들이 ADSL 서비스로 이동하는 이유는 속도가 느리기 때문이며 이동하지 않는 이유는 서비스 이용빈도 및 이용시간이 적기 때문인 것으로 분석되었다. ADSL 이용자들의 경우 접속속도에 대해서는 만족의 비중이 높았지만 요금의 경우 불만족의 비중이 높았다. 그리고 향후 속도를 보장하는 상품이 출시될 경우 시장점유율 상승과 수익성 측면에서 긍정적인 것으로 평가되었다.

A Study on the Using Patterns and Using Promotion Strategy for Special Transport Service : the case of Suwon City, korea (특별교통서비스의 이용실태 및 활성화 방안 연구 : 수원시를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to contribute the use of special taxi for the transportation vulnerable such as elderly and pregnant woman in terms of improving transportation mobility and extending social participation. We analyzed the DB users of STS system operating in Suwon, and surveyed the preference statement. Specifically, we have built transportation mode choice models for the elderly and pregnant woman, and then we drew the activating STS plan by comparing influence factors for each model. Based on the results of the study, 23% of STS user was the elderly people and pregnant women, 31% of user was for hospital passage purpose, and short-haul passage within 2 ~ 5km was 70% level of the passage. According to preference survey results between STS and Bus, fare was the highest impact factor in the mode choices for the elderly, and the participants who are older and car owners have been found to prefer the special taxi. For the pregnant woman, travel time and fare were the main influence factors of choices, and it was discovered that they preferred the special taxi when they are car owners and trips was frequented. Also, if the fare of special taxi is about 70% of the regular taxi fare, The share rates of Special Taxi comparing to bus for the elderly and pregnant woman are analyzed to be 51.1% and 63.6% each. Therefore, the adjustment of the fare would be effective to encourage the use of the special taxi. The results of this study can be used as a basis for establishing the rational fare structure of the special taxi.

Estimation of Optimal Fare for Cloud Transportation System (클라우드교통시스템의 최적 요금 산정)

  • The Traffic congestion is caused by the increasing traffic demand. Thus, economic losses have been increasing every year. To solve these problems, car sharing and rental car systems that are equipped with IT technologies emerge. Car sharing has many advantages-the alleviation of the traffic congestion, the saving of maintenance cost for cars, the reduction of car possessiveness, the solution for the hassle of car ownership, for business and personal duty, and the improvement of connectivity between public transportations-. The goal of the car sharing is to achieve low-carbon and eco-friendly transportation. In this study, we review papers related to the car sharing system and the cost system of traffic systems. We estimate the optimal cost of the cloud traffic system that is one of the car sharing services. We suggest a methodology to estimate operational cost and use cost through the analysis of cost system between similar traffic means. The range of the maximum and minimum cost was determined through the comparison and analysis of similar traffic means. Expected demand and the cost that people are willing to pay were estimated through optimized value pricing. The minimum cost per hour that was compared to the cost of rental car was estimated at 5,333 won and the maximum cost per hour that was compared to taxi cost was estimated at 17,700 won. The cost for users was estimated at 6,930 won. The cost of 50% demands was estimated at 6,550won. Future studies should analyze service hours of users, weather, demand pattern and trend and consider them into the cost estimation.

A study on the effective regulation of user discrimination : focusing on the offering of promotional gifts and exemption of charges (방송통신사업자의 부당한 이용자 차별 행위의 위법성 판단 기준의 타당성 및 효과적 규제 방안 : 경품 제공 및 요금 감면 관련 행위를 중심으로)

  • This study aims to find out the effectiveness of regulation of promotional gifts and exemption of charges by analyzing the judgement criterion of illegality and the corrective action taken by regulatory agencies and suggests effective way of regulation. The results show that recently the differences of price-cut is getting bigger. In addition, Fair Trade Commission has considered discounts as unfair predatory price only if price is below the cost. But in the telecommunication business law enacted by Korea Communications Commission, 'expected profits per subscriber' has been applied as a key criterion. KCC's criterion is based not on the expected profit of individual service provider but on the averaged profit of services providers. It doesn't consider differences of service quality and the cost structure between dominant firm and late comers. Prohibition act of user discrimination result in the increase of subscriber and operating profits of late comers but this is not direct purpose of regulation. It can be desirable in the aspect of fair competition but since it may reduce consumer welfare, the criterion needs to be reconsidered.

  • 국내 이동통신사업자들은 자사 고객의 충성도를 높이기 위해 사용요금의 일정비율에 해당하는 포인트와 제휴사의 서비스를 제공하는 멤버십 제도를 운영하고 있다. 최근 포인트에 대한 소비자의 권리의식이 높아지면서 통신사업자들 뿐만 아니라 포인트를 발행하는 타 업종에서도 사회적 이슈로 제기되고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 이동통신사가 운영하는 멤버십 제도의 운영 실태를 살펴보고 이용자를 보호할 수 있는 방안들을 검토해 보고자 한다.

Effects of Service Characteristics of a Subscription-based OTT on User Satisfaction and Continuance Intention: Evaluation by Netflix Users (구독형 OTT 서비스 특성이 이용자 만족과 지속 사용 의도에 미치는 영향: 넷플릭스 이용자를 대상으로)

  • This study examined how the quality of Netflix service affects user satisfaction and continuance intention. This study classified the quality of Netflix service as content diversity, rate system appropriateness, recommendation system, N-screen service, binge viewing, and service quality, and examined the effect of each dimension on user satisfaction and continuous intention. We conduced an online survey on 202 Netflix users and analyzed the data with the SEM. Results are as follows. First, content diversity, recommendation system, binge-viewing and service quality are positively associated with user satisfaction. Second, the N-Screen service has neither direct nor indirect effects on continuance intention. However, rate system has a direct effect on continuance intention. On the other hand, content diversity, recommendation systems, binge-viewing, and quality of service affect continuance intention positively through user satisfaction. Finally, it is shown that user satisfaction and continuance intention have a significant static correlation as predicted.

Impact of Gratifications Obtained on Behavioral Intention Watching OTT Services (OTT 시청에 따른 획득충족이 이용자의 행동 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of Gratifications Obtained (GO) on behavioral intention targeting Over-the-Top (OTT). The study chooses quality of content, variety of content, leisure activity, entertainment, the convenience of watching, and reasonable rate ratio as factors of GO. The number of subjects for the research is 330 people aged from their twenties to thirties in Daegu and Gyeongbok province. This study employs multi-regression analysis to analyze the impacts of GO on behavioral intention. The analysis shows that quality of content and variety of content influence behavioral intention at a significance level of 0.01, and entertainment and the convenience of watching influence at a significance level of 0.05.
