Welfare Activation Strategy for a Urban Park Users (도시공원 이용자들을 위한 공원복지 활성화전략 -부산도시공원 이용자를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the improvement plan for the welfare in the park through the empirical test on the park facilities, which are the hardware, and the service contents, which are the software, in the urban parks of Busan. Therefore, to identify the welfare of the parks in Busan, this study took 7 urban parks as samples according to the plate method of experts, and conducted the questionnaire survey from 1,500 persons using these parks. The IPA analysis results on the importance and the satisfaction of the users on the form of use, facilities and the contents of the park are as follows. First, the convenient facilities, which are the hardware of the park, are represented as a intensive management item. Second, the importance and the satisfaction for all the facilities and the contents of each park are significant differences. according to the location of each park and the characteristics of each principal park users. Such results mean that the Busan urban park operation does not satisfy the expectation of the park users for the welfare facilities in the parks. Therefore, it implies that to activate the urban parks and to improve the quality of life than the present, the aceessibility of the local residents to the information should be reinforced through the development of contents to reflect the region and the desires of the users and through building and managing the homepage of the urban parks.

Towards Service Quality Improvement for University Library by LibQUAL+ Analysis for Multiple Years (LibQUAL+의 통시적 분석을 통한 대학도서관의 서비스 개선 방안에 관한 연구)

  • Users tend to perceive differently the service quality of library depending on the advance of digital information technologies. It is necessary to analyze the cumulative results of LibQUAL+ in order to identify the suggestions for improvement of library services. This study aims to comparatively analyze the results of LibQUAL+ and demonstrate the trends and changes for the services of university library. To achieve the purpose of this study, two university libraries were selected for analysis. The library of McGill University in Canada was selected with the six years' results of LibQUAL+. Another library located in Seoul was selected with the 2012 result of LibQUAL+ and a new LibQUAL+ in 20015 was conducted for this study. The results were analyzed with three dimensions and 22 items in terms of circular chart, bar chart, and graph. Findings of this study indicated that there were substantial differences in terms of years of LibQUAL+ survey and user groups with undergraduate/graduate students in three dimensions. In particular, the results of A library showed that users were likely to expect more from the university library, but they perceived low service quality. In addition, there was found considerable differences among users groups in terms of undergraduate and graduate students. The improvements for library services need to focus on three dimensions such as staff, resources, and facilities as well as customized services for individual user groups.

Statistical Metadata for Users: A Case Study on the Level of Metadata Provision on Statistical Agency Websites (웹 이용자를 위한 통계 메타데이터: 통계정보 제공사이트의 메타데이터 제공 수준 평가 사례 연구)

  • As increasingly diverse kinds of information materials are available on the Internet, it becomes a challenge to define an adequate level of metadata provision for each different type of material in the context of digital libraries. This study explores issues of metadata provision for a particular type of material, statistical tables. Statistical data always involves numbers and numeric values which should be interpreted with an understanding of underlying concepts and constructs. Because of the unique data characteristics, metadata in the statistical domain is essential not only for finding and discovering relevant data, but also for understanding and using the data found. However, in statistical metadata research, more emphasis has been put on the question of what metadata is necessary for processing the data and less on what metadata should be presented to users. In this study, a case study was conducted to gauge the status of metadata provision for statistical tables on the Internet. The websites of two federal statistical agencies in the United States were selected and a content analysis method was used for that purpose. The result showing insufficient and inconsistent provision of metadata demonstrate the need for more discussions on statistical metadata from the ordinary web users' perspective.

Factors Affecting User Satisfaction of Mobile Social Network Games: Focusing on the Quality and Self-determination (모바일 소셜 네트워크 게임 이용만족에 영향을 미치는 요인: 품질과 자기결정성 요인을 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate and identify what factors influence the satisfaction of the users for the fast-growing social network game based on the mobile. To this end, we looked around the variable product characteristic factor, quality and the consumer characteristic factor, user self-determination. Also we surveyed 211 male and female college students. The first finding was that all the sub-factors of the quality factor had positive effects on the satisfaction of the mobile social network games. The second finding was that all the sub-factors of the self-determination factor had positive effects on the satisfaction of the mobile social network games. The third finding was that only the sub-factors of quality had positive relative effects on the satisfaction of the mobile social network games, in the order of playfulness, usability, functionality from the most to the least. The findings of this study are expected to offer meaningful and practical suggestions for the development of high quality game contents for the user convenience, as well as the academic significance, the expansion of game-related area of research through the break from the traditional research trends, technology and engineering point of view and from the PC-based online game.

An Evaluation of Library Websites with Universal Design Perspectives (유니버설 디자인 관점에서의 도서관 웹사이트 평가에 관한 연구)

  • The library is a social institution that should ensure all users' information access rights. In this study, the concept of universal design is analyzed as a theoretical basis that library Websites should be accessed equitably by all kinds of users, and an evaluation criteria is developed based on the principles of universal design. The Websites of 7 regional central libraries are evaluated with suggested criteria and the ratio of compliance of universal Web design is measured. In the result, the most of the Websites are showed not only high performances on the area of (1) Web accessibility and (2) usability, but low performances on the area of (1) equitable use and (2) flexibility in use.

  • The web is a new information environment, which has different characteristics from a traditional IR environment. Needed are more research from a new point of view as well as the adoption of a new research paradigm in order to understand a user-system interaction on the web. The purpose of this study is to review and analyze models of web-based information seeking behavior, which Wang, Hawk & Tenopir, Hsieh-Yee, Choo, Detlor & Turnbull, Chun & Cooper, Rieh, and Spink proposed. The comparative analysis indicates that web-based information seeking models are categorized into three area: interaction model, information seeking behavior model, and evaluation model, and that they are based on a multifaceted interaction and a nonlinear perspective.

  • This paper analyzed the dialogue language of 'Maple Story' NPC from the perspective of learned optimism. Not only is NPC's language a key skill in artificial intelligence language, it also plays a big role in giving game users fun and desire to achieve. In this paper, as a result of analyzing the dialogue language of NPCs by utilizing the two key dimensions of NPC's learned optimistic explanation form: permanence and pervasiveness, the rate of characters' conversations using optimistic languages was 6%~7%. It was confirmed the important consideration in NPC artificial intelligence development.

  • As competition increases among ports, new marketing strategies and differentiated means in addition to the existing core services are needed to prevent existing container shipping companies from escaping and to attract new customers. The additional services and reward programs are investigated. How these variables affect relational commitment in terms of customer retention is examined. Customers of the container terminals are examined in terms of psychological behavior. This study presents the structural equation model that shows the connection among benefits, rewards, switching costs and relational commitment. The empirical analysis is done with the subject of the container terminal users and the implications are derived.

  • Internet is in rapid growth from technology to total social environment, so technical and syntax based cyber crime is evolved but also psychological and semantic based one is showing. In this paper, we analyze the cyber-crime cases announced by police, then classify it into social and technical influence. After that, we study the profiling method on psychological view point of cyber-crimes. We expect that it is possible to classify cyber-crimes into the categories rapidly and take less time to analyze and response.
