본 연구의 목적은 순간적 시간흐름 면담기법과 Think-Aloud 면담기법을 통해 클래식 음악 이용자들의 정보탐색행태를 파악하는 것이다. 이용자들의 정보탐색행태는 키워드 검색, 브라우징, 스마트폰 어플리케이션 활용의 세 가지 행태로 나타났다. 이를 통해 클래식 음악 이용자들이 검색과정에 겪는 문제점을 파악하고, 향후 이용자의 요구사항을 반영한 클래식음악 검색시스템 설계에 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

The aim of this study was to investigate the users' behaviour when interacting with elements based on XML documents retrieval system and develop approaches for XML retrieval which are effective in user-based environment. We followed the experimental guidelines from the INEX 2006 iTrack organizers. For the research goals, 16 responses from the questionnaires per subject and system logs were collected and analyzed using Excel and SPSS 17.0.

Query logs are online records that capture user interactions with information retrieval systems and all the search processes. Query log analysis offers ad advantage of providing reasonable and unobtrusive means of collecting search information from a large number of users. In this paper, query logs of NAVER, a major Korean Internet search service, were analyzed to investigate the information seeking behabior of NAVER users. The query logs were collected over one week from various collecions such as comprehensive search, directory search and web ducument searc. It is expected that this study could contribute to the development and implementation of more effective web search systems and services.

This study aims to investigate trends of internet searching behavior of users of NAVER, a major Korean search portal. In particular, this study analyzed trends of query submission behaviors, behaviors related to typos, multimedia searching behaviors, and click behaviors. In conducting this study, query logs and click logs of unified search service were analyzed. The results of this study show that there were little changes in the topic and length of queries, the pattern of typos, and multimedia seeking behavior over a year's period. However, click counts of documents have gradually increased over time. The results of this study can be implemented to increase the portal's effective development of internet contents and searching algorithms.

This study aims to investigate information seeking behavior of Popshoes users. Transaction logs of Popshoes, a major Korean shopping search engine, were analyzed. These transaction logs were collected over 3 months period, from January 1 to March 31, 2015. The results of this study show that Popshoes users behave in a simple and passive way. In the total sessions, more users chose to browse a directory than typing and submitting a query. However, queries played a more crucial role in important decision makings such as search results clicks and product purchases than directory browsing. The results of this study can be implemented to the effective development of shopping search engines.

The main difference between web searching and traditional searching is that the web provides and supports multimedia searching. This study aims to investigate the multimedia searching behavior of users of NAVER, a major Korean search portal. In conducting this study, the query logs and click logs of a unified search service were analyzed. The results of this study show that among the multimedia queries submitted by users, audio searches are the dominant media type, followed similarly by video and image searches. On the other hand, among the multimedia documents clicked on, video is the most popular collection type followed by image and audio collections. Entertainment is the most popular topic in both multimedia queries and clicks. The results of this study can be implemented for the portal's development of multimedia content and searching algorithms.

In order to investigate information seeking behavior of web search users, this study analyzes transaction logs posed by users of NAVER, a major Korean Internet search service. We present a session definition method for Web transaction log analysis, a way of cleaning original logs and a query classification method. We also propose a query term definition method that is necessary for Korean Web transaction log analysis. It is expected that this study could contribute to the development and implementation of more effective Web search systems and services.

The amount of online scholarly information rapidly expands in numerous resources, while user behavior demands single search box interface like Google Scholar. Despite scholarly values of e-resources libraries provide, users consider Google Scholar as the most efficient research tool attracted by its speed, simplicity, ease of use, and convenience. Characteristics of Metasearch System compared with Google Scholar are analyzed from perspectives of the interface and e-resource. Based on usage statistics of Metasearch System along with a link resolver in one academic library, e-resource accessibility patterns and information seeking behaviors of subject-specific areas are investigated for electronic information services.

In this study in order to verify the overall information seeking behavior of the Web-based OPAC users, it was analyzed transaction log file for 7 years. Regarding Web-based OPAC information seeking behavior, it was studied from the perspective of information seeking strategy and information seeking failure. In search strategy, it was analyzed search type, search options, Boolean operator, length of search text, number of uses of word, number of use Web-based OPAC, number of use by time, by week day. Also, in search failure, search failure ratio, search failure ratio by search options, search failure ratio by Boolean operator were analyzed. The result of this study is expected to be utilized for OPAC system and service improvement in the future.

This study aims to compare information seeking behavior of 1300K users on PC and mobile phone. Transaction logs of 1300K, a major Korean shopping search engine, were analyzed. These transaction logs were collected over 1 month period, from April 1 to April 31, 2016. The results of this study show that there are a little more mobile sessions than PC sessions. Users conducted slightly more browsing on PCs than mobile phones, whereas users submitted queries more than two times on mobile phones than on PCs. Users clicked more search results on PCs than mobile phones, whereas users made important decision makings such as product purchases more on mobile phones than PCs. Top queries and categories were similar between PCs and mobile phones. Queries and categories on mobile phones were more focused than queries on PCs. Overall, mobile search behavior is more simple, passive, and focused than PC search behavior. The results of this study can be implemented to the effective improvement and development of search services for different devices.
