  • 대규모 프로젝트나 상호 이질적인 여러 시스템을 보유하고 있는 기관에서는 보통 시스템을 여러개로 나누어 운영하고 있다. 이러한 경우 운영의 효율성을 위해 시스템 통합에 대한 요구가 증가하게 된다. 시스템을 하나로 통합하다 보면 효율적인 운영이 가능하며, 단일화된 서비스를 통해 이용자는 여러 서비스를 한 곳에서 활용할 수 있는 편의성을 제공할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 통합서비스 구축을 통해 이용자가 여러 서비스를 효율적으로 활용할 수 있는 접근점 중의 하나인 분류체계 구축 방법을 소개하고 실제 구현 사례를 제시한다. 통합서비스 요구분석을 통해 서비스에 필요한 분류체계들을 도출하고 다양한 서비스들을 여러 분류체계에 맞춰 구분함으로써 이용자는 원하는 서비스를 효율적으로 접근할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 이에 통합서비스에서의 분류체계는 중요한 서비스 요소 중의 하나이다. 본 연구결과는 대규모 통합서비스 구축시 필요한 분류체계 구축 절차에 활용될 수 있다.

  • The change in information technology demands drastic change in digital library service. This study defines what a social semantic digital library should consist of and proposes a new architecture that incorporates core functions needed in designing a SSDL. The SSDL supports semantic information processing based on metadata and ontology and is an innovation system that allows SSDL users to participate in generating new knowledge by interacting with existing metadata and ontology structures. This study designed a SSDL model that consists of five horizontal and two vertical structures.

  • Urbanization of Korea reaches up to 90% in the year 2003. What that means is that 90% of population live in the city areas. This phenomenon emphasizes importances of urban streets where people feel accessibility and level of environmental amenity, enjoy recreational activity, and live for a life. However, the current Korean manual for designing road is not enough to accomodate various activities of urban streets since its target is basically rural roads. This study proposes the necessity of a new design manual of urban streets via analyzing the practices of the development countries, and aims to recommend what should be prepared and how those are defined for developing a design manual of urban streets in Korea. It is inevitable that the design manual of urban streets be based on the flexibility and diversity. The manual should be made through consensus among the related stakeholders such as designers, residents and officials. And it also should reflect the characteristics of each city. It is somehow true that without the manual, designing of urban streets can be done although it is not fully acceptable. This does not mean that the necessity of the manual can be ignored. Rather, we should remember that the related stakeholders may not want to reveal what are hidden in developing the design manual of urban streets. What are hidden is that developing the design manual of urban streets is difficult problem to solve. It is a wish that this study triggers the on-going research and interests on developing the design manual of urban streets.

Research on the Development of Facets for Improvement in Searching Records: Focusing on Presidential Records (기록물의 검색 향상을 위한 패싯 개발에 관한 연구 - 대통령기록물을 중심으로 -)

  • As the recognition of the importance of user-oriented services is increasing, there has been a heightened attention for finding aids that could improve the effectiveness of searching. This study tried to draw various facet elements that can be applied to the presidential records retrieval system using presidential records as cases in analyzing various resources, considering the importance of facets in finding aids for the improvement of effectiveness in searching in the future and the importance of presidential records in Korea. In drawing facet elements based on the characteristics of presidential records, the websites of the National Archives (NARA) and Presidential (Prime Ministers') Archives as well as their search options were examined as cases. In addition, the morpheme of each title of presidential records were analyzed, as well as the terms entered by the users of the Presidential Archives Portal of Korea, the terms used in the request for information disclosure toward the Presidential Archives in Korea, the search options of the Presidential Archives Portal, and the elements of the description and metadata standards. The significance of this study lies on suggesting the methodology of developing various facets as main elements in finding aids using the presidential records as cases.

Analysis on the Importance Rank of Service Components of Autonomous Mobility-on-Demand Service by Potential User Groups (수요응답형 자율주행 대중교통 서비스의 잠재적 이용자 집단 간 서비스 요소별 중요도에 관한 분석)

  • In the near future, it is expected that the use of autonomous mobility-on-demand services will increase. Considering its complicated service components, including vehicle convenience, driving and matching speed, and platform convenience, the priorities of them will need to be determined for a successful establishment. In this context, this study examined the importance rank of each service component through an online survey of potential users of autonomous mobility-on-demand services. As a result of the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) with respect to the upper-level components, driving and matching speed component is selected as most important, followed by platform convenience and vehicle convenience. Mean rank analysis with respect to lower-level components showed that the in-vehicle congestion level of vehicle convenience, waiting time of driving and matching speed, and pre-booking availability of platform convenience each ranked first. Additional analysis regarding each group was conducted to establish a group-specific strategy. As a result, it would be better to focus on a vehicle than a mobile platform when designing services for the region with a high proportion of the older. Moreover, it is recommended to speed up the driving and matching speeds more than the current public transport, alleviate in-vehicle congestion, and enable the users to book the schedule in advance.

  • The purpose of this study is to present a theoretical framework and practical methodology to extend the scope of Library and Information Science by incorporating the usability evaluation of e-book, which has considerably increased in proportion in the digital library. By sirveying e-book users and through statistical analysis. it was found that rebuilding a set of usabllity evaluation factors for e-books is necessary to activate e-books in the digital libraries. This study inclusively presents a conceptual model of e-book usability evaluation and suggests guidelines for usability principles.

  • In this study, in order to explore the contextual elements of book use that were overlooked in the existing book recommender system research, for 15 avid readers with various book search backgrounds, the contents generated in 6 book search situations were collected through the think-aloud protocol. By using content analysis from the collected book use contents, not only the internal and external appeal factors affecting book use, based on the 'appeal factor', the theoretical concept of the readers' advisory service, but also information sources and search methods regarding book use were identified and categorized. The results of this study can be used to extract and reflect meaningful attribute data in the future book recommender system design process.

The Effect of Perceived Risk, Scarcity Message in the CATV Homeshopping Ad, and Purchasing Experience on CATV Homeshopping Consumers Response (케이블 TV홈쇼핑 프로그램에서 지각된 위험과 희소성 메시지가 이용경험이 다른 소비자의 반응에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study examines primarily the effects of perceived risk and scarcity massage on consumers in CATV homeshopping. For consumers, the perceived risk is the cause of delaying purchase decision in CATV Homeshopping while scarcity message in the Ad facilitate purchasing intention in the CATV homeshopping. And another important characteristic of consumer which exerts impact on the response of consumer to the Ad and the product is the frequency of purchasing experience. Thus the purpose of this study is to test the effect of 3 factors on consumer's response to homeshopping Ad and product: one is perceived risk, another is scarcity message and the third is consumer's difference in purchasing. And these are defined as independent variables. The responses of the consumer, the dependent variables of this test are measured in three dimensions; 1) the purchasing intention of the product, 2) the attitude toward the Ad, and 3) the attitude toward product of the consumer. 110 housewives are sampled and assigned to 4 experimental groups. All the groups first watched a video-taped homeshopping Ad messages, and then filled up their responses on the administered questionnaire. The results of this study shows as follows: 1) Perceived risk has negative effect to consumer response. 2) Scarcity message has positive effect to consumers response. 3) But especially perceived risk has negative effect to high frequency purchasing experience group. 4) Scarcity message has also negative effect to high frequency purchasing experience group. 5) The interaction effect of perceived risk and scarcity message is most prominent to the consumers of high frequent purchasing experience.

  • 본 연구는 지식검색서비스의 특성과 성능 분석을 근거로 이용자의 정보요구와 이용행태 등 지식검색 서비스 이용과 관련된 제반사항을 조사 · 분석함으로써 이용자들의 요구를 보다 충족시킬 수 있는 지식검색서비스 방안을 제시하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이론적 연구와 실증적 이용연구에서 분석된 결과를 기초로 한 개선방안은 지식의 효과성과 검색서비스의 효율성을 강화시키는 요소를 중심으로 제시되었다. 지식 자체의 효과를 높이기 위해서는 답변의 전문성, 정확성, 주제의 특성 및 다양성을 향상시켜야 하고, 검색서비스의 효율성을 높이기 위해서는 쌍방향성, 즉시성, 편리성의 측면을 강화시켜야 한다. 이에 대한 구체적 방안으로 답변자나 답변내용의 제한, 지식 자체의 가치결정, 커뮤니케이션 수단의 확대, 질문처리과정 확인 기능, 질문자나 답변자의 로그온 상태 표시, 지능형 검색방식의 확충 등을 제안한다.

Searching Behavior of Scientists and Technologists Based on Their Information Needs (과학기술분야 연구자의 정보요구별 탐색행태 분석)

  • 본 연구에서는 질문지법을 이용하여 과학기술분야 연구자들의 정보요구를 파악하고 이를 바탕으로 정보요구별 탐색행태를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 특정 정보요구에 대해 비공식 커뮤니케이션 채널이 정보탐색에 중요한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 탐색과정에서 이용자가 느끼는 정보부족의 원인에 대해서는 정보요구별로 어느 정도 차이가 있는 것이 확인되었다. 반면, 정보탐색환경에서 연구자들이 중요하게 생각하는 요소는 정보요구별로 큰 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 정보요구를 바탕으로 과학기술분야 연구자의 탐색행태 분석결과를 적용함으로써 이용자 특성에 따라 개별화된 과학기술 정보 서비스를 기대할 수 있다.
