Development of New Drought Index to Monitor Droughts (가뭄감시를 위한 새로운 가뭄지수의 개발)

  • 가뭄을 정량화하고 적절하게 표현하기 위해 여러 가지 가뭄지수가 개발되어 이용되어 왔다. 그러나 지금까지 개발된 가뭄지수는 대부분 강수량 등 기상요소만을 이용하여 가뭄을 표현함으로써 하천유출, 댐이나 저수지 등 물 공급원의 상황을 고려하지 못하여 실제 가뭄의 체감 정도를 정확하게 표현하기에는 한계가 있는 상황이다. 우리나라를 비롯한 대부분의 국가에서 물 수요에 대한 공급은 하천에 흐르는 물을 직접 취수하여 이용하는 경우뿐만 아니라 지역적인 특성에 따라 댐이나 저수지, 지하수 등 다양한 수원을 이용하는 체계로 구성되어 있다. 따라서 기상학적인 요소, 즉 강수량만을 이용하여 가뭄을 판단할 경우 실제 물 이용자가 느끼는 가뭄의 정도를 적절하게 표현하기 어려운 경우가 발생할 수 있다. 예를 들어 어떤 지역에 발생한 강수량이 매우 적을 경우 기상학적인 측면에서 가뭄이라 판단할 수 있으나 해당 지역 물 수요의 대부분을 공급하는 다목적댐이 충분한 저수량을 확보하고 있다면 이는 가뭄상황이 아닌 것으로 결론지어야 한다. 그러나 가뭄모니터링을 위해 일반적으로 이용되고 있는 PDSI나 SPI로는 이러한 상황을 적절히 반영하기 어려우며, 기존 가뭄지수의 한계를 보완할 수 있도록 실제 물 공급 체계를 고려한 가뭄지수 산정방법의 개발 필요성은 지속적으로 제기되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 점을 고려하여 가뭄 해석 대상 지역의 실제 물 공급 체계를 반영하여 가뭄을 정량화할 수 있는 새로운 가뭄지수를 개발하여 제시하였다. 개발된 가뭄지수는 물가용지수(Available Water Index, AWI)로 명명하였으며, 가뭄지수 산정을 위해 필요한 인자를 선정하고 지수를 산정할 수 있는 방법론을 도출하여 제안하였다. 제안된 방법을 이용하여 우리나라 주요 지점에 적용한 후 PDSI, SPI 등 기존 가뭄지수와 그 결과를 비교하였다. 마지막으로 2008~2009년에 걸쳐 우리나라에서 발생했던 가뭄에 대해 본 연구에서 제안한 방법에 따라 가뭄을 해석하였으며, 이러한 과정을 통해 본 연구에서 개발한 방법의 적용 가능성을 검토하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 AWI는 강수량 등 기상학적 인자와 함께 댐이나 저수지의 공급 관련 상황을 반영하여 가뭄을 정량화할 수 있으므로 물 부족 측면에서의 가뭄감시를 위해 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

A Multiple User Class Congestion Pricing Model and Equity (혼잡통행료 산정모형의 개발 및 계층간 형평성 연구)

  • Traditionally, a congestion charge based on first-best congestion pricing theory, namely, the theory of marginal cost pricing theory, is equal to the difference between marginal social cost and marginal private cost. It is charged on each link so as to derive a user equilibrium flow pattern to a system optimal one. Based on this theory this paper investigates on the characteristics of first-best congestion pricing of multiple user class on road with variable demand, and presents two methods for analysis of social and spatial equity. For these purposes, we study on the characteristics of first-best congestion pricing derived from system optimal in time and in monetary unit, and analyze equity from this congestion pricing with an example network.

A Study on Ontology-based Keywords Structuring for Efficient Information Retrieval (연구.학술정보 효율적 검색을 위한 온톨로지 기반의 주제 색인어 구조화 방안 연구)

  • In this paper, a ontology-based keyword structuring method is proposed to represent the knowledge structure of scholarly documents and to make inferences from the semantic relationships holding among them. The characteristics of thesaurus as a knowledge organization system(KOS) for subject heading is critically reviewed from the information retrieval point of view. The domain concepts are identified and classified by analysis of the information activities occurring in a general research process based on scholarly sensemaking model. The ontological structure of keyword set is defined in terms of the semantic relationship of the canonical concepts which constitute scholarly documents such as journal articles. As a result, each ontologically structured keyword set of a document represents the knowledge structure of the corresponding document as semantic index. By means of the axioms and inference rules defined for information needs, users can efficiently explore the scholarly communication network built on the semantic relationship among documents in an analytic way based on the scholarly sensemaking model in oder to efficiently retrieve the relevant information for problem solving.

A Study on the Improvement of Passenger Ship's Operational Environments in Wan-do Area (완도권 여객선 운항 환경 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The sea traffic volume in Southwest sea including Wando area have increased every year. However the improvement of the facilities for convenience and safety in port and sea was not enough to meet the increasing demand of traffic and passengers' need. This study dealt with the situations and status of passenger ship traffic system in Wando area. In addition to, questionnaire survey of passenger ship user in Wando area was carried out in order to research the improvement of marine traffic system. On the basis of the result, navigation risks in the area was analysed. The institutional system such as passenger ship fare, enhanced traffic system that can improve marine traffic environment in the area were suggested and examined. The urgent issue was the scattered fishing ground near fairway which makes narrow passage and can cause risky passeger ship's navigation. In the side of passeger ship's operation, the wage of cargo handling was relatively expensive that needed to be improved.

  • Recently, due to THE MOBILITY ENHANCEMENT FOR THE MOBILITY IMPAIRED ACT, local governments have tired to make various efforts on special transport services(STS), low-flow bus, and installing elevator in subway stations for handicapped people. But in case of STS, insufficient numbers of taxi are raised against the increasing demand of hadicapped people due to the limited budget. This study investigated actual use condition of STS and characteristics of selection of handicapped people on Duribal. In addition, an ordered-logistic model was employed for developing taxi use prediction model considering taxi fare discounts for diverting Duribal demands to taxies. The results can be a significant basic data for transportation policies to improve travel efficiency of the handicapped.

  • Prompt and efficient information collection on each research area is emerging as the key factor of national technology competitiveness in industrialized society. Accordingly, constructing a variety of specialized DBs as the tool for supporting R&D activities and providing appropriate information are essential task to be solved in promoting R&D productivity. On this study, We have developed ceramics material property DB to support and facilitate R&D activities of industry, academia and research institutes. The ceramic property DB which was regarded as the most important DB surveyed from korean done for scientists and researchers was selected. To develop this DB, us have designed DB customized for domestic users after analyzing items and structures of ceramic material property information. We hope that R&D researchers can save time and cost in acquiring property information and the R&D productivity will be improved by utilizing our research result.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the relationship between charging operation system and electricity charges connected with charging infrastructure among data of many demonstration projects focused on electric vehicles recently. At this point in time, due to the rapid increase in demand for the electric charging infrastructure that will take place in the future, we can prepare for an upcoming era in the sense of forecasting the demand value. At the same time, demonstrating and modeling optimized system modeling centering on sites is a prerequisite. The modeling based on the existing small - scale simulation and the design of the operating system are based on the data linkage analysis. In this paper, we implemented a new optimized system modeling and introduced it as a standard format to analyze time - dependent time - divisional data for each vehicle and user in each point and node. In order to verify the efficiency of the optimization based on the data linkage analysis for the actual implemented electric car charging infrastructure and operation system.

Dynamic Pricing Based on Reinforcement Learning Reflecting the Relationship between Driver and Passenger Using Matching Matrix (Matching Matrix를 사용하여 운전자와 승객의 관계를 반영한 강화학습 기반 유동적인 가격 책정 체계)

  • Research interest in the Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) concept for enhancing users' mobility experience is increasing. In particular, dynamic pricing techniques based on reinforcement learning have emerged since adjusting prices based on the demand is expected to help mobility services, such as taxi and car-sharing services, to gain more profit. This paper provides a simulation framework that considers more practical factors, such as demand density per location, preferred prices, the distance between users and drivers, and distance to the destination that critically affect the probability of matching between the users and the mobility service providers (e.g., drivers). The aforementioned new practical features are reflected on a data structure referred to as the Matching Matrix. Using an efficient algorithm of computing the probability of matching between the users and drivers and given a set of precisely identified high-demand locations using HDBSCAN, this study developed a better reward function that can gear the reinforcement learning process towards finding more realistic dynamic pricing policies.

Evaluation of Environmental Contribution to the Effect of Reducing Carbon Dioxide Emission in Metropolitan Urban Railways (수도권 도시철도의 이산화탄소 배출량 절감 효과에 대한 환경 기여도 분석)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to quantitatively identify the environmental contribution generated by urban rail users in the metropolitan area. Method: As for the analysis method, the mode choice and assignment of the traffic demand analysis were repeatedly performed on the assumption that each line was not opened for the metropolitan urban railway lines 1 to 9. After that, the environmental contribution according to changes in demand for the road was analyzed. Result: The total amount of carbon dioxide emissions and benefits were found to be the largest for subway line 1. However, when considering the number of stations and length, it was analyzed that the environmental contribution was the greatest in Metro Line 4. Conclusion: Measures to promote the use of public transportation are representative of environmental improvement policies, but there is a limit in that it is difficult for actual users/non-users to feel it. Therefore, it is judged that it is necessary to quantitatively present the effect in order to improve and spread awareness of the environment.

The Utilization Probability Model of Expressway Service Area based on Individual Travel Behaviors Using Vehicle Trajectory Data (차량궤적자료를 활용한 통행행태 기반 고속도로 휴게소 이용 확률 모형 개발)

  • A Service Area plays an important role in preventing accidents in advance by creating a space for long distance drivers or drowsy drivers to rest. Therefore, proper positioning of the expressway service area is essential, and it is important to analyze accurate demand forecasting and user travel behavior. Thus, this study analysis travel behavior and developed odel of the probability of using the service area by using the DSRC data collected by the RSE on the highway. According to the analysis, the usage behavior of highway service areas was most frequently when travel time was 90 minutes or more on weekdays and 70 minutes or more on weekends. The utilization rate of the service area estimated from the probability model of use of the rest area in this study was 1 % to 2 % error. The results of this study are meaningful in analyzing the behavior of the use of rest areas using the structured data and can be used as a differentiated strategy for selecting the location of rest areas and enhancing the service level of users.
