Improvement of Adhesion Between metal and Polymer by Ion Assisted Reaction (IAR) (이온 보조 반응법을 이용한 금속과 고분자의 접착력 향상)

  • Enhancement of adhesion between polymer films and metal films are obtained by forming the hydrophilic functional groups on the polymer surfaces by ion assisted reaction which uses ion beam in reactive gas environments. In ion assisted reaction, ion dose, blown gas flow rate and ion energy were changed from $5\times 10^{14}$ to $1\times 10^{17}\textrm{ions/cm}^2$, from 0 to 8 sccm, and 0.3 to 1.2 kV, respectively. Wetting angle of water on polymer films modified by $ Ar^+$ ion without blowing oxygen decreases to ~$40^{\circ}$. Contact angle of water on polymer films modified by $ Ar^+$ ion with blowing oxygen decreases to ~$20^{\circ}$, and the surface free energy increases to ~70 dyne/$\textrm{cm}^2$. However, contact angle of water on polytetraflouroethylene (PTFE) modified by ion assisted reaction increases with ion dose. The adhesion strength of metal film deposited on the polymer surface was investigated. In the case of the metal film deposited on the untreated polymers, the metal films are detached from the polymer surface. While, In the case of the metal film deposited on the polymers treated by ion assisted reaction, the metal films are strongly adhere to the polymer surfaces.

  • 고준위 방사성 액체폐기물에서 얻어지는 백금족 금속(Pd, Rh, Ru) 들의 분리 및 정제방법으로 강염기성 음이온교환수지를 사용하여본 결과 상용 수지중에서 Dowex 1 $\times$ 8 이 IRN-78 에 비하여 저 농도의 질산 농도에서 Pd(II) 의 분리 및 정제시 우수한 흡착성을 보여 주었으며 Rh(III) 의 흡착은 Pd(II) 의 것보다 훨씬 낮은 값을 보여 주었다. 이 수지들의 백금족 금속에 대한 흡착성을 문헌에 보고된 실험 결과들과 비교 검토하여 본 바 이온 그룹으로 3급 및 4급 Benzimidazole을 가지는 수지에 비하여 훨씬 낮은 값을 나타내었다. 따라서 실용성이 큰 강염기성 음이온수지로서는 Benzimidazole과 같은 혼합 아민 그룹을 지닌 수지가 가장 접합할 것으로 전망되었다.

Optimum Chain Extension and Change of the Average Particle Size of Aqueous Polyurethane Dispersion (수분산 폴리우레탄 제조시 최적 사슬연장 조건과 입도 변화에 관한 연구)

  • In the synthesis of water-based polyurethane using self-emulsification process, after being neutralized, polyurethane pre-polymers containing ionic pendant groups are dispersed by simple convective mixing. Preparation of dispersion is followed by chain extension reaction, which is considered as important step for growth of the molecular weight of polyurethane. In this work, pH variations in the aqueous phase were monitored during the chain extension process in the presence of water-soluble diamines. The optimum degree of chain extension and the average particle size in the polyurethane dispersions were examined with varying ionic pendent group contents, type of chain extenders, and feed rate of chain extenders, The initial pH value in the aqueous phase linearly increased and the optimum chain extension point could be obtained from the intersection of two linear lines having different slopes, All average particle sizes before chain extension reaction were almost same, however, the final average particle size increased as feed rates of chain extenders increased, In addition, as the ionic pendant group contents increased, the particle size decreased since the hydrophilicity and hydrodynamic volume increased. As carbon numbers of the chain extenders increased, the final particle size increased significantly. From the results, it was concluded that the chain extension reaction took place among the particles not only in a particle.

NaY(WO4)2:Tb3+ 형광체의 합성과 발광 특성

  • 본 연구에서는 녹황색 빛을 내는 NaY(WO4)2:Tb3+ 형광체 파우더를 하소 350도에 1시간 소결 950도에 4시간 고상반응법으로 합성하였으며, 파우더는 X-ray diffraction과 PL 장비를 이용하여 측정하였다. XRD 분석은 Tb3+이온 도핑농도에 의한 순수한 NaYWO4 상을 나타내었다. Fig.1 220-330nm에서 관찰되는 넓은 밴드는 $O2-{\rightarrow}W6+$에 의해 발생한 LMCT(ligand to metal charge transfer)이고, Tb3+에서 WO42-그룹으로 에너지 전달에 의해서 생긴다. 이것의 최대세기는 272nm 이다. LMCT 옆 330-390nm에 관찰되어지는 약한 강도와 넓은 밴드는 Tb3+ 4f8의 f-f transition에 의해 발생한다. Fig.2에서 보여 지듯이$ 5D4{\rightarrow}7F6$, 7F5, 7F4, 7F3는 파장 489nm, main peak인 545nm (Green,초록색), 588nm (orange, 주황색), 620nm (Red, 적색)에서 Peak가 나타났으며, Tb3+이온의 함량비가 0.08mol일 때 최대 발광이 관측 되었다.

  • In this study, the optimum amount of chloride ions is used to collaborate with hybrid corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel rebar treatment in simulated pore concrete (SCP) solution is discovered. The corrosion inhibition performance of hybrid inhibitors is carried on by open circuit potential (OCP), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and potentiodynamic polarization (PP). The highest corrosion inhibition resistance is found in case of LP-C2 after 240 h exposure. Surface studies including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) were used to figure out the surface morphology of the steel rebar treated with hybrid inhibitors in order to collaborate well with electrochemical studies. Anodic type inhibition action was confirmed by potentiodynamic polarization study.

Na와 Dy 이온 첨가에 따른 MgWO4 형광체의 광학 특성

  • 본 연구에서는 고상반응법을 사용하여 제조한 MgWO4:Dy,Na 형광체의 광학특성과 결정구조를 조사하였다. Fig.1 XRD 주 피크는 $23.9^{\circ}$에서 관측 되었으며 (110) 면에서 발생한 회절신호이다. 결정구조는 단사정계임을 알 수 있었다. Dy,Na의 함량비를 0 mol, 0.02 mol, 0.04 mol, 0.06 mol, 0.08 mol, 0.10 mol로 변화시켜 합성했으나, 함량비와는 관계없이 동일한 XRD 회절 피크 패턴이 관측되었다. Fig.2. 그림의 220-340 nm에서 관찰되는 넓은 밴드는 $O2-{\rightarrow}W6+$에 의해 발생한 LMCT(ligand to metal charge transfer)이고, Dy에서 WO42- 그룹으로 에너지 전달에 의해서 생긴 CTB 이다. 합성한 형광체를 295 nm로 여기 시킨 모든 형광체 분말의 발광 스펙트럼은 Dy 이온의 $4F9/2{\rightarrow}6H15/2$ 전이에 의한 487 nm, $4F9/2{\rightarrow}6H13/2$ 전이에 의한 577 nm, $4F9/2{\rightarrow}6H11/2$ 전이에 의한 668 nm의 발광 스펙트럼이 관측되었다. Dy 이온이 0.02 mol일 때, 발광 세기가 가장 강하였으며, 몰 비가 증가함에 따라 발광의 세기는 감소하는 농도 소광현상이 관측되었다.

  • Diphosil, a new version of the organic-inorganic composite resin developed by ANL has a structure of the chelating diphosphonic acid groups grafted to a silica support. To apply Diphosil for the treatment of liquid radioactive waste from nuclear power plants, the adsorption equilibrium and column experiments were carried out for the main radionuclides, $^{137}Cs\;and\;^{60}Co$, in the liquid radwaste stream. Through the adsorption equilibrium experiments, the removal efficiencies of $^{137}Cs\;and\;^{60}Co$, and the effects of non-radioactive ions on the removal efficiency have been measured in various conditions using radiotracers. The breakthrough curves for the tested tracers were obtained from the laboratory scale column tests using the simulated liquid radioactive waste. In addition, the removal capacity of Diphosil is compared with that of Amberlite IRN 77 resin, generally used in nuclear power plants.

  • 미생물에 의해서 생성되는 계면 활성제는 매우 다양하며, 그 특성은 사용되는 기질과 배양조건 등에 따라 다르게 된다. 일반적으로 소수성 부분은 대부분 지방산으로 이루어진 탄화수소 사슬이지만, 친수성 부분은 alcohol, ester등을 비롯하여 인산 또는 황산기와 같이 이온 그룹으로 구성되는 등 다양하다. 대부분의 biosurfactant는 생분해가 가능하며 독성이 없다. 따라서 오염문제를 야기하지 않으며 생물체에 적용가능한 장점을 갖고 있다. 따라서 앞으로 미생물을 이용한 biosurfactant의 개발및 응용가능성은 매우 높다고 볼 수 있다.

Crosslinked Composite Polymer Electrolyte Membranes Based On Diblock Copolymer and Phosphotungstic Acid (디블록 공중합체와 인텅스텐산을 이용한 가교형 복합 고분자 전해질막)

  • Proton conductive hybrid nanocomposite polymer electrolyte membranes comprising polystyrene-5-poly (hydroxyethyl methacrylate) (PS-b-PHEMA), sulfosuccinic acid (SA) and phosphotungstic acid (PWA) were prepared by varying PWA concentrations. The PHEMA block was thermally crosslinked by SA via the esterification reaction between -OH of PHEMA and -COOH of SA. Upon the incorporation of PWA into the diblock copolymer, the symmetric stretching bands of the $SO_3^-$ group at $1187cm^{-1}$ shifted to a lower wavenumber at $1158cm^{-1}$, demonstrating that the PWA particles strongly interact with the sulfonic acid groups of SA. When the concentration of PWA was increased to 30wt%, the proton conductivity of the composite membrane at room temperature increased from 0.045 to 0.062 S/cm, presumably due to the intrinsic conductivity of the PWA particles and the enhanced acidity of the sulfonic acid in the membranes. The membrane containing 30wt% of PWA exhibited a proton conductivity of 0.126 S/cm at $100^{\circ}C$. Thermal stability of the composite membranes was also enhanced by introducing PWA nanoparticles.
