Queue Lengths and Sojourn Time Analysis of Discrete-time BMAP/G/1 Queue under the Workload Control (일량제어정책을 갖는 이산시간 BMAP/G/1 대기행렬의 고객수와 체재시간 분석)

  • In this study, we analyzed queue length and sojourn time of discrete-time BMAP/G/1 queues under the workload control. Group customers (packets) with correlations arrive at the system following a discrete-time Markovian arrival process. The server starts busy period when the total service time of the arrived customers exceeds a predetermined workload threshold D and serves customers until the system is empty. From the analysis of workload and waiting time, distributions of queue length at the departure epoch and arbitrary time epoch and system sojourn time are derived. We also derived the mean value as a performance measure. Through numerical examples, we confirmed that we can obtain results represented by complex forms of equations, and we verified the validity of the theoretical values by comparing them with simulation results. From the results, we can obtain key performance measures of complex systems that operate similarly in various industrial fields and to analyze various optimization problems.

A Pipelined Parallel Optimized Design for Convolution-based Non-Cascaded Architecture of JPEG2000 DWT (JPEG2000 이산웨이블릿변환의 컨볼루션기반 non-cascaded 아키텍처를 위한 pipelined parallel 최적화 설계)

  • In this paper, a high performance pipelined computing design of parallel multiplier-temporal buffer-parallel accumulator is present for the convolution-based non-cascaded architecture aiming at the real time Discrete Wavelet Transform(DWT) processing. The convolved multiplication of DWT would be reduced upto 1/4 by utilizing the filter coefficients symmetry and the up/down sampling; and it could be dealt with 3-5 times faster computation by LUT-based DA multiplication of multiple filter coefficients parallelized for product terms with an image data. Further, the reutilization of computed product terms could be achieved by storing in the temporal buffer, which yields the saving of computation as well as dynamic power by 50%. The convolved product terms of image data and filter coefficients are realigned and stored in the temporal buffer for the accumulated addition. Then, the buffer management of parallel aligned storage is carried out for the high speed sequential retrieval of parallel accumulations. The convolved computation is pipelined with parallel multiplier-temporal buffer-parallel accumulation in which the parallelization of temporal buffer and accumulator is optimize, with respect to the performance of parallel DA multiplier, to improve the pipelining performance. The proposed architecture is back-end designed with 0.18um library, which verifies the 30fps throughput of SVGA(800$\times$600) images at 90MHz.

  • 실세계에서 발생하는 많은 문제들은 주어진 제약조건들을 만족하는 범위내에서 해를 찾는 제약만족문제(CSP)의 개념으로 설명될 수 있으며, 이러한 문제들의 해결을 위해 인공지능 및 OR 분야에서 활발한 연구가 계속 되어왔다. 본 연구는 대표적 논리언어인 prolog에서 유한이산 도메인 및 수치 제약조건의 해결을 위한 제약해결기에 대한 연구이다. 본 연구에서 구현된 제약해결기에서는 포워드체킹(FC)을 사용하여 조합적 문제를 효과적인 도메인 여과를 통해 탐색공간 및 탐색시간을 축소시키며, 또한 최적화 문제의 해결에 있어서도 그 문제에 주어진 목적함수와 FC의 장점을 조화 시킴으로써 최적해를 더욱 효과적으로 발견한다.

  • The optimum design problems for the design of counterforted wall were formulated and computer programing to solve these problems were developed in this study. Both discrete optimization and continuous optimization method were applied to the design of counterforted wall and the results of these optimization methods were compared each other.

  • For linear discrete-time time-invariant multi-input mufti-output systems, a necessary condition which an optimal output Proportional feedback gains must satisfr is deiived. Quadratic performance index is used. The result is extended to the desi01 problem for determining optimal output proportional plus integral feedback gains. For illustration, an example problem is solved and discussed.

  • In this paper, an algorithm for stacking sequence optimization which deals with discrete ply angles is used for optimization of composite laminated plates. To handle discrete ply angles, the branch and bound method is modified. Numerical results show that the optimal stacking sequence is found with fewer evaluations of objective function than expected with the size of feasible region, which shows the algorithm can be effectively used for layup optimization of composite laminates..

  • This study presents a discrete optimization of tall steel buildings under multiple drift constraints using a dual method. Dual method can replace the primary optimization problem with a sequence of approximate explicit subproblems. Since each subproblem is convex and separable, it can be efficiently solved by using a dual formulation. Specifically, this study considers the discrete-optimization problem due to the commercial standard steel sections to select member sizes. The results by the proposed method will be compared with those of the conventional optimality criteria method

  • In this paper, the optimization has been performed to design a multi-layer structure that is used as a structure for noise reduction of acoustic sonar sensors in underwater vehicles. Two design goals are considered to reduce self-noise from own machineries and to enhance acoustic signals detected from outside. Both distinct and continuous design parameters have been used such as selection of material properties of each layer and thickness of each layer, respectively. The sensitivity of design parameters has been analyzed and the evolutionary algorithm has been implemented for design optimization. For design optimization process, each of the design goals and the two combined design goals have been considered to analyze the achievement of those design goals.

  • 본 논문에서는 음소별 코드북 개수의 선택과 벡터 양자화에 따른 음소 인식률과 고립단어 인식률에 대하여 다룬다. 음성모델은 이산 확률 밀도를 갖는 DHMM(Discrete Hidden Markov Model)을 사용하였으며, 코드북 생성과 벡터 양자화 알고리즘으로는 K-means 알고리즘과 LBG(Linde, Buzo, Gray) 알고리즘을 사용하였다 음소별 코드북 개수와 벡터 양자화를 최적화함으로써 음소 인식률을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 그 결과 안정된 고립단어 인식률을 얻을 수 있다.

  • 전원설비 투자계획은 주어진 기간 하에서 최적 발전기 투입용량 및 시기를 결정하는 문제이다. 전원설비의 준공일정은 다양한 사회적 요인의 영향으로 불확실성에 노출되어 있다. 본 논문에서는 전원설비 준공 불확실성을 고려한 전원설비 계획 문제를 제시한다. 발전설비의 준공지연 불확실성은 이산 확률론적 밀도함수를 갖는 확률변수로 표현된다. 최적화 문제에서 확률변수를 고려하기 위해 2단계 확률론적 계획법이 도입된다. 주문제-부문제로 분해된 최적화 문제는 쌍대함수 정보를 교환하는 반복연산을 수행하여 최적 전역해에 도달할 수 있다.
