Detection and Distribution of Fungal Vector P. graminis of BaYMV (보리누른모자이크병 매개곰팡이(Polymyxa graminis) 검정 및 분포현황)

  • Barley yellow mosaic virus (BaYMV) is transmitted by a root-inhabiting Polymyxa graminis (P. graminis) and thus the disease is called "soil-borne". In this study, the presence of P. graminis was confirmed by PCR test based on specific sequences of P. graminis type I (P. graminis f. sp. temperata) Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS). P. graminis was detected in the BaYMV infected soil and root of barley plants. The monitoring of P. graminis was conducted in March 2015 in 8 korean provinces. It was detected in the soil of all collected regions. This is the first report on a P. graminis a survey of Korea.

Evaluation of Resistance in Hot Pepper Germplasm to Phytophthora Blight on Biological Assay (생물검정을 통한 고추 유전자원의 역병저항성 평가)

  • Phytophthora blight of pepper is the most economically important disease in the world cultivation regions. We investigated the phytophthora blight resistance of 300 accessions of Korean landrace of hot pepper germplasms collected from 83 local regions. The disease incidence rate was checked from 7 days to 28 days at an interval of 7 days after inoculation under greenhouse conditions. Among 300 accessions, the disease incidence rate of phytophthora blight of 67 accessions of pepper germplasm was more than 60.1%, while no disease was observed in 37 accessions at 7 days after inoculation. At 28 days after inoculation, five and eleven accessions of pepper germplasm were resistance and moderate resistance to $P.$ $capsici$, respectively. Two hundred forty four susceptible accessions (81.3%) of pepper were scored as having more than 60.1% of disease incidence of phytophthora blight. This result suggests that five candidate pepper germplasm might be used as breeding resources for the phytophthora blight resistance breeding program. Also, further genetic studies should be carried out to verify this result, with the overall focus of providing information on important characteristics of pepper germplasm.

Studies on the Inheritance of Resistance to Bacterial Leaf Blight of Rice Varieties (수도(水稻) 백엽고병(白葉枯病)의 저항성(抵抗性) 유전(遺傳)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • This study was conducted to determine the inheritance to bacterial leaf blight in rice. Varieties used in the study were IR1544-349-2, IR1698-237-2, IR1529-680-3, IR28, IR29, RP663-337-7-8-4-1-1, RP291-20, 62-595 and Kele. The isolate of bacteial leaf blight used was 71-23, 76-1 of Xanthomonas oryzae. $F_1s$ were obtained from crosses between resistant and susceptible varieties. Field observation was made from the Parents, $F_1s$ and $F_2$ sagregating population. The result is summaryzed as fallow: 1) The resistance to the bacterial leaf blight (71-23) derived from cultivars IR1529-680-3, IR28, IR29, RP663-337-7-8-4-1-1, RP291-20 and 62-595 was controlled by a single dominant gene. 2) The resistance to the bacterial leaf blight (71-23) derived from cultivars IR1545-339-2, IR1544-340, IR1698-237-2 and Kele was controlled by a single recessive gene. 3) The resistance to the bacterial leaf blight (76-1) derived from cultivars IR1545-339-2, IR1544-340, IR 1698-237-2 was controlled by a single dominant gene. 4) Degree of resistance to the bacterial leaf blight and genetic type were different depending on isolates within the same resistant cultivar. 5) There was no relation between resistance to the bacterial leaf blight and heading days.

Occurrence of Leaf Mold Pathogen Fulvia fulva Isolates Infecting Tomato Cf-9 Cultivars in Korea (토마토 Cf-9 저항성 품종에 잎곰팡이병을 일으키는 Fulvia fulva 균주의 국내 발생)

  • Leaf mold symptoms were found on commercial tomato cultivars carrying the Cf-9, a resistance gene to leaf mold pathogen Fulvia fulva in 2012 at Buyeo, Chungnam in Korea. Fifteen-fungal isolates were obtained from four Cf-9 cultivars of tomato including 'Cutie', 'otaerangdia', 'Unicorn' and 'Rapito'. Due to their same morphological appearances and colony color, nine isolates were selected and identified as F. fulva based on molecular analysis of the internal transcribed spacer rDNA sequence. Pathogenicity of the 15 isolates on five commercial cultivars carrying Cf-4, Cf-5, and Cf-9 were tested. All the isolates showed strong pathogenicity on Cf-9 cultivars, 'Cutie' and 'Dotaerangdia', and Cf-5 cultivar, 'Yoyocaptain'. In contrast, on Cf-4 cultivar, 'Superdotaerang', five isolates were virulent and the other isolates were not. In addition, two fungal isolates, infecting Cf-9 cultivar and non-infecting Cf-4 cultivar, were selected and their pathogenicity was tested on 17 commercial cultivars reported as tomato having Cf-9 resistance gene. Among them, 15 cultivars were susceptible and 2 cultivars were resistant. It is likely that the two cultivars include other resistance gene. To our knowledge, this is the first report on the occurrence of Cf-9 infecting F. fulfva strains in Korea.

  • 4231년 농림부산림국에서 송충구제책으로 경기도 임업시험장에서 인공배양한 No.7호균외 수종을 사용할 계획인바 비에 대한 임업시험장 시험보고에 의하면 핵균은 송충에 대하여 맹독성이지마는 잠아에 대하여서는 기독성이 경미하다는 보고 이였으므로 양잠가에 대한 의문을 풀기 위하여 송충 및 잠아에 대한 전염성의 강약을 비교 시험하여 그 독성정도를 구명코저 함. 1. 경기도 임업시험장 연구보고 제1호에 기재된 No.7 호균의 시험성적과 본시험성적과를 대조하면 그 이병률은 일정한 경향을 표시치 않으며 다소 상치된 결과이었다. 즉 별표에 의하면 송충은 72~100% 잠아에 있어서는 4289년도에 0~2% 4290년도이 0~20%였으나 본시험결과 (표 1,2,3)는 송충은 표준구에 6.6% 처리구에 13.3~20%이고 잠아는 5~50%의 이병률이였다. 따라서 송충에는 그 감염도가 높으며 잠아는 그 감염도자 낮다고하는 근거를 인정키 난하다. 2. 본시험에 공시된 접종균 No.7호균은 경기도 임업시험장에서 호칭하는 황황강균(Insarica farinosa)이 었으나 핵균 배양시에 이균이 침입된 관계인지는 모르나 본시험에서 폐사를 검정한 결과 백강균(Botrytis Bassiana)이였다. 따라서 No.7호균에 대한 순도가 의심되며 시험결과의 정확을 기할수가없었다. 3. 경기도 임업시험장연구보고 제1호에 접수된 양년간시검성적에 의하면 경화병균 28종중 가장 이병률이 낮다고하는 No.7호균이 본시험결과에서 잠아에 5~50%의 이병률을 나타내는것으로 보아 소위 경기도 임업시험장에서 순수분리한 균은 어느것이라도 송충에 접종하여 산지에 산포하면 그 균이 중간기생 (인교목, 직교목)을 통하여 야생화되어서 더욱 잠아에 대한 전염력을 강렬하게됨으로 양잠상 위험할것이다. 일본의 소산씨 문헌(경기도 임업시험장도서관)에 의하면 야생혼충에서 전염되는 경화병균의 독성은 잠아에 대하여 강력하다는 점과 $\ulcorner$잠업지조선$\lrcorner$제11호에 전라남도 원잠종제조소 강본태대랑씨의 시험성적(참고문헌)이 이를 여실히 입증하는 바이다.   • 폴리머애자는 기존 자기애자에 비하여 많은 장점을 가지고 있어 세계적으로 사용량이 증가하고있다. 그러나 폴리머재질을 사용함으로써 열화과정을 거치게 되어 있다. 폴리머애자의 장기신뢰성 및 수명 예측을 위하여 븐 연구에서는 복합가속열화시험장치에 의한 모의 열화시험, 현장 애자의 주기적인 발취 시험, 옥외 실증시험장에서의 애자상태 감시 둥을 통하여 폴리머애자의 장기신뢰성을 검증할 계획이다. 또한 새로운 장기 신뢰성 평가방법에 대한 연구도 진행될 것이다.
