The Evaluation Structure of Auditory Images on the Streetscapes - The Semantic Issues of Soundscape based on the Students' Fieldwork - (거리경관에 대한 청각적 이미지의 평가구조 - 대학생들의 음풍경 체험을 통한 의미론적 고찰 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to interpret the evaluation structure of auditory images about streetscapes in urban area on the basis of the semantic view of soundscapes. Using the caption evaluation method. which is a new method, from 2001 to 2005, a total of 45 college students participated in a fieldwork to find out the images of sounds while walking on the main streets of Namwon city. It was able get various data which include elements, features, impressions, and preferences about auditory scene. In Namwon city, the elements of the formation of auditory images are classified into natural sound and artificial sound which include machinery sounds, community sounds. and signal sounds. Also, the features of the auditory scene are classified by kind of sound, behavior, condition, character, relationship of circumference and image. Finally, the impression of auditory scene is classified into three categories, which are the emotions of humans, atmosphere of the streets, and the characteristics of the sound itself. From the relationship between auditory scene and estimation, the elements, features and impressions of auditory scene consist of the items which are positive, neutral, and negative images. Also, it was able to grasp the characteristics of auditory image of place or space through the evaluation model of streetscapes in Namwon city.

Two Efficient Methods for Generating Depth-of-Field (효율적인 피사계 심도 생성을 위한 두 가지 기법)

  • The depth of field is the range that the objects inside of this range treated to be focused. Objects that are placed out of this range are out of focus and become blurred. In computer graphics, generating depth of field effects gives a great reality to rendered images. The previous researches on the depth of field in computer graphics can be divided into two major categories. One of them is the distributed ray tracing that samples the lens area against each pixel. It is possible to obtain precise results without noise if enough number of samples are taken. However, to make a good result, a great number of samples are needed, resulting in an enormous timing requirement. The other approach is the method that approximates depth of field effect by post-processing an image and its depth values computed using a pin-hole camera. Though the second technique is not that physically correct like distributed ray tracing, many approaches which using this idea have been introduced because it is much faster than the first approach. But the post-processing have some limitations because of the lack of ray information. In this paper, we first present an improvement technique that corrects the previous post-processing methods and then propose another one that accelerates the distributed ray tracing by using a radiance caching method.

Survey on Multifaceted Role of Shipping Industry and Measures to Improve Public Perception (해운산업의 다면적 역할에 대한 인식조사 및 국민인식 제고방안)

  • A survey showed that the public perception of the shipping industry's overall image and economic role was relatively positive. The survey revealed that public perception was mixed with respect to the multifaceted role of the shipping industry. Based on the results of this survey, this paper proposes three approaches to improving the public perception of the shipping industry. The organization contact approach includes establishing shipping institutes for city people, holding various events targeted at the public, establishing a shipping memorial hall, developing a shipping-related culture and tourism, reinventing the image of the shipping industry through a shipping-culture movement, and creating new views of the shipping industry by conducting formal education. The goods and services contact approach includes building a brand image for shipping services, providing B2C services, utilizing the national image for the shipping industry, and participating in international cooperation projects. The text contact approach includes B2B advertising, advertisements focused on the national economic and multifaceted role of the shipping industry, package advertisements for the shipping industry and related industries, the Internet and high-technology media, government-initiated PR activities regarding the multifaceted role of the shipping industry, and funding for advertising the shipping industry.

수산화인회석 표면에 도입된 루테늄 나노 입자를 활용한 촉매 활성 연구

  • 수산화인회석(Hydroxyapatite)는 뼈와 이빨의 무기물의 주성분으로서 칼슘과 인산염으로 구성된다. 본 연구에서는 특정 농도의 염기조건 (10 M NaOH)에서 수열합성법 (hydrothermal method)을 이용하여 수산 화인회석을 합성하였다. 합성된 샘플은 XRD 패턴 및 TEM 이미지 분석을 통하여 단결정성과 일정한 형태를 지닌 수산화인회석이 합성된 것을 확인하였다. 수산화인회석의 표면에 루테늄을 도입하기 위하여 이온교환 반응 과 열처리 과정을 이용하였다. 도입된 루테늄 나노 입자는 TEM 이미지 분석을 통하여 확인하였으며, 일차알콜과 이차알콜등의 유기 산화반응에 촉매로서 사용하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 순차주사 CCD 이미지 센서를 위한 개선된 경계적응적 칼라 보간 구조를 제안했다. 제안된 경계 표시자(edge indicator) 함수는 채널내 상관관계뿐만 아니라 채널간의 상관관계를 이용하며 국소적으로 나타난 왜곡된 칼라는 칼라 경계 검출법에 기반한 스위칭 알고리즘에 의해 제거됐다. 개선된 경계적응적 칼라 보간 구조는 기존의 접근 방법에 비해 주관적 화질과 객관적 화질 모두 우수한 결과를 실험적으로 보였다.

  • 초해상도 영상 복원은 저해상도 이미지를 고해상도 이미지로 변환하는 기술이다. 저해상도를 고해상도로 변환 시 정보가 없는 화소에 대한 정확한 화소값을 예측하는 보간법을 이용하게 되며 영상의 스케일링에 따른 앨리어싱 (aliasing) 이 발생하는 문제를 해결해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 Sobel 연산자를 통해 구한 에지 성분의 크기와 방향성을 이용하여, 초해상도 영상의 앨리어싱과 블러링(blurring) 을 줄이는 기법을 제안한다.

  • 매 년 국내에서 중국으로 떠나는 관광객 수가 증가하고 있다. 하지만 현지 사정에 대해 잘 모르는 관광객들이 위안화 위폐에 대한 피해가 늘어나고 있다. 이러한 피해를 조금이라도 줄이기 위하여 중국 위폐 여부를 판별 할 수 있는 어플리케이션을 제작하였다. 이러한 어플리케이션을 제작하기 위하여 중국의 위폐 구별법을 조사하고 영상처리 기술인 Template matching을 사용하여 원본 이미지와 사진의 이미지를 비교하는 방안을 채택하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 컬러이미지의 스케일링(scaling)을 위해 경사투영방법을 사용하여 기본적인 보간방법, 최소자승근사(least square approximation)의 결과들과 비교하여 보았다. 경사투영방법은 최소의 근사오차(approximation error)를 제공하는 수직투영(orthogonal projection)방법과 유사한 결과를 제공하며 전처리 필터 디자인에 자유성을 부여하고, 좀 더 일반화된 형태의 보간 방법이다. 사용된 방법을 기본적인 보간법들과 비교하여 보았을 때 더 좋은 PSNR의 결과를 얻을 수 있었으며 최소자승근사 방법과 유사한 결과들을 얻을 수가 있었다.

A Comparative Study on the Image characteristics in Traditional Palaces of Korea, China and Japan (한 중 일 궁궐 건축의 이미지 특성 비교 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to find the unique image characteristics of Korea and identify the Korea culture by comparing the image characteristics of traditional palaces of Korea, China and Japan. This study identifies the unique image characteristics of Korea through a comparative analysis the image of three nations. Literature research, free association measurement, survey were conducted to select study objects and descriptive words. 5 outside-pictures and 2 inside-pictures of the Changduckung, the Forbidden City, the Nijo castle representing each country's traditional palaces were chosen as study objects. A questionnaire was made with 47 descriptive words and 5-scale measurement. The results of analysis are as follows. The representative words to express the image characteristics of Korea, China and Japan traditional palaces are adornment, stability, openness, lines, unfamiliarity, feminine. This study researched the common and different factors between the image characteristics in traditional palaces of Korea, China and Japan. The common image is the image of lines. The distinctive characteristics of Korea are stability, curved lines and femininity. The characteristics of China are adornment and straight lines. And, the characteristics of Japan are simplicity, unfamiliarity, and openness. Based on the research, it was found out that stability and curved lines are the main characteristics of Korea. This study researches the characteristics of images of Korea, China and Japan. This study shows the common and different factors of image characteristics of in the neighboring three nations of East Asia. Due to the geographical and cultural effect over a long time, the Korea was evaluated as the middle cultural between China and Japan. However, this study found unique characteristics of Korea's image.

Super Resolution Image Reconstruction based on Local Gradient and Median Filter (Local Gradient와 Median Filter에 근거한 초해상도 이미지 재구성)

  • This paper presents a SR method using adaptive interpolation based on local gradient features to obtain a high quality SR image. In this method, the distance between the interpolated pixel and the neighboring valid pixel is considered by using local gradient properties. The interpolation coefficients take the local gradient of the LR images into account. The smaller the local gradient of a pixel is, the more influence it should have on the interpolated pixel. And the median filter is finally applied to reduce the blurring and noise of the interpolated HR image. Experiment results show the effectiveness of the proposed method in comparison with other methods, especially in the edge areas of the images.
