Performance Enhancement of AAA-based Authentication forHMIPv6 (AAA 기반의 인증을 이용한 HMIPv6 성능 개선 기법)

  • To reduce the amount of the signaling messages occurred in movement, HMIPv6 has been introduced as the hierarchical mobility management architecture tor MIPv6 by regarding the locality of movements. When approaching the visited link, the authentication procedure should be done successfully prior to any motility support message exchanges. The AAA(Authentication, Authorization and Account) authentication service is applied gradually to the wireless LAN and Cellular networks. However, It may bring about the service latency for the sessions of requiring the real-time processing due to not providing the optimized signaling in local and frequent movements. In this paper, we propose the authentication architecture with 'delegation' scheme to reduce the amount of signaling message and latency to resume for local movements by integrating it with HMIPv6 architecture. We provide the integrated authentication model and analyze the performance and effectivity of our proposal and finally offer the analysis materials comparing to the exiting authentication scheme. It cuts down the cost to $33.6\%$ at average measurement.

Mobile IP local pre-registration scheme for accommodating real-time data traffics in cdma2000 Networks (cdma2000 네트워크에서 실시간 데이터 트래픽을 수용하기 위한 Mobile IP 지역내 사전등록 기법)

  • In this paper, to solve some problems of the Mobile IP and local registration strategy we propose a method that can effectively support real-time traffics sensitive to delay time and packet loss. The proposed method reduces the registration time after a Mobile Node's movement between networks by carrying out the pre-registration for the domain which it will move into the network information of the link layer of cdma2000 system, at the boundary cell's handoff zone. Through the cost analysis and simulation it is shown that the proposed scheme yield a better performance compared with the Mobile IP and local registration strategies in terms of packet loss for parameters; variation of the velocity of a Mobile Node, and a distance between the Mobile Node and home networks, etc.

  • Recently mobile communication systems have supported various multimedia services based on wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA). In November 2013, the statistics reported that the domestic subscriber number of mobile communication systems was totally 54 million 514 thousand 397 in using feature phones and smart phones. Therefore, the user number of mobile communication services has surpassed over 4 million rather than the whole number of population. The sharp increase of the mobile user number has made the network management and analysis for mobile communication services more important than before. Besides, the service quality has been studied in various ways. This paper has implemented the simulator calculating the channel capacity of mobile communication systems to support secure and stable services for both feature phones on CDMA and smart phones on WCDMA. By using the simulator, this paper has analyzed the characteristics of the various channel capacity in mobile communication environments.

Energy Efficient Congestion Control Scheme in Ad-hoc Networks (Ad-hoc 통신망의 에너지 효율적인 혼잡 제어 기법)

  • In recent years, there have been many researches about Ad-hoc Networks which is available to communicate freely between mobile devices by using multi-hop without any support of relay base or access point. TCP that used the most widely transport protocol in the Internet repeats packet loss and retransmission because it increases congestion window size by using reactive congestion control until packet loss occurs. As a result of this, energy of mobile device is wasted unnecessarily. In this paper, we propose TCP-New Veno in order to improve the energy efficiency of mobile device. According to the state of network, the scheme adjusts appropriate size of congestion window. Therefore, the energy efficiency of mobile device and utilization of bandwidth are improved by the scheme. From the simulation by using ns-2, we could see more improved energy efficiency with TCP-New Veno than those with TCP in Ad-hoc Networks.

Performance Modeling of Resource Reservation Cost in Wireless/Mobile Networks (무선 이동 망 환경에서 자원 예약 비용 성능 모델링)

  • We propose a new resource reservation scheme called MC-HMRSVP(Mobile clustering based-Hierarchical mobile ReSource reserVation Protcol) that is an extension of HMRSVP[3,4]. MC-HMRSVP always establishes a virtual cluster called Mobile Cluster, which includes its immediately adjacent MA(Mobile Agent) for passive reservation as well as the current MA for active reservation to which MH(Mobile Host) belongs. Our scheme also establishes the MC regardless of intra/inter region movement by GMA(Gateway Mobile Agent) function when a MH moves. To provide a general formulation on analyzing the performance in terms of reservation cost, we also model the resource reservation cost by using a simple recursive equation. Then, we show that our scheme decreases the reservation cost in comparison with the existing HMRSVP extentions.

  • 2004년도 정보통신부의 IT839 전략에 따르면 8대 신규 서비스로 인터넷 전화(VoIP)와 3대 첨단 인프라로 광대역 통합망(BcN)을 선정한 바 있다. 이에 본 고에서는 9대 신성장동력에서 공동으로 활용하기 위한 VoIP와 BcN을 연계한 기술 동향을 설명한다. SIP 와 H. 323에 의한 VoIP 서비스가 제공되면서 네트워크 구조 변화가 시작되었다. 유선 네트워크, 무선 이동통신 네트워크, 인터넷 등을 통합하는 유무선 통합네트워크(BcN)는 VoIP 기술로 구축될 것이다. 본 고의 구성으로는 VoIP 기술 특성을 설명하고, VoIP 표준 동향을 분석한 후에 앞으로 구축될 BcN VoIP 의 발전 방향에 대하여 설명한다. VoIP 기술은 회선 정합및 인터넷 정합 기술과 H. 323, SIP, MEGACO 등의 프로토콜 기술과 VoIP 품질을 결정하는 코덱 기술이있다. VoIP 표준은 IETF에서 제정한 SIP를 중심으로 네트워크 특성을 고려하여 3GPP, 3GPP2, ITU에서개발하고 있다. BcN VoIP 는 기존의 VoIP 기술을 발전시켜 음성 품질이 오디오 수준으로 향상되고, 유선과 무선, 방송이 통합되는 제어 기술과 연계하여 실시간 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공할 것이다.

Performance analysis of MC-CDMA Mobile Communication Systems with Smart Antennas (스마트 안테나를 적용한 MC-CDMA 시스템의 성능 분석)

  • Smart antennas will be used mon widely for the higher data rate and the larger number of users as the demand of wireless multimedia service is increased. Therefore, the BER performance is analyzed in this paper for DS-CDMA and MC-CDMA systems using smart antennas. A reverse link channel is simulated assuming the frequency selective Rayleigh fading. The simulation results are presented based on the characteristics of DS-CDMA and MC-CDMA systems according to the signal spectrum bandwidth and the method of adaptive beamforming. The BER performances of both systems are improved as the beam width of smart antennas is decreased. Also, it is shown that the performance of MC-CDMA system is much better than that of DS-CDMA system as the number of users is increased.

  • Recently, with the development of network technology, the web-based remote control systems and the real time remote control systems that do not have any restrictions at any time and space are many developed in the several industry FA field. In this paper, we developed the graphic editor screen of the client PC (PDA) with wireless network and the real time remote control system that can access the industry's server and can control the transmission of data for the FA of iron and steel industry field. Implementation of this system brought on the several effects of the decrease of the worker's movement, the control of quick equipments, a step-up in production efficiency, and the decrease of maintenance expense and so on in administration side of industry field.

  • 현재 우리나라는 이동통신 무선망 개방, 지상파 및 위성 DMB 서비스 개시 등으로 인하여 모바일 컨텐츠 시장이 본격적으로 성장하고 있으며, 그에 따른 모바일 게임시장도 크게 형성되고 있다[1]. 하지만 모바일 회사 중 몇몇 주요 회사를 제외하고는 그 경쟁이 매우 치열한 상태이다. 우리가 생각하는 모바일 게임의 성공요인은 조작 용이, 짧은 길이, 신선함 다양성, 유인 용이, 일상생활등과 연관성 등이다. 성공요인을 갖추었음에도 불구하고 이용자들이 넓게 눈을 돌리지를 못하고 있다. 그래서 우리는 이용자들에게 아주 친숙하면서도 사용에 용이를 둔 모바일 타자게임을 제작하게 되었다. 물론 기존의 타자게임과는 다른 요소들을 집어넣어서 이용자들에게 흥미와 신선함으로 다가갔다. 그리하여 모바일 게임 영역에서 일정한 기여를 할 수 있기를 기대하고 있다. 나이가 많은 이용자들을 위하여 문자의 친숙함, 익숙함을 제공하여 주는 기능도 구현하였다.

A Study on DDoS Detection Technique based on Cluster in Mobile Ad-hoc Network (무선 애드혹 망에서 클러스터 기반 DDoS 탐지 기법에 관한 연구)

  • MANET has a weak construction in security more because it is consisted of only moving nodes and doesn't have central management system. The DDoS attack is a serious attack among these attacks which threaten wireless network. The DDoS attack has various object and trick and become intelligent. In this paper, we propose the technique to raise DDoS detection rate by classifying abnormal traffic pattern. Cluster head performs sentinel agent after nodes which compose MANET are made into cluster. The decision tree is applied to detect abnormal traffic pattern after the sentinel agent collects all traffics and it judges traffic pattern and detects attack also. We confirm high attack detection rate of proposed detection technique in this study through experimentation.
