The purpose of this study is to suggest implications from the case of health information service for patients in overseas hospital libraries. A total of 89 overseas hospital libraries were selected, including general hospitals, specialized hospitals, women's hospitals, children's hospitals, and veterans' hospitals. The health information service that is provided in general and common in 89 hospital libraries was surveyed and the differentiated health information service was investigated next. As a result, first, it can be seen that the establishment of hospital libraries and the provision of health information services are common outside of Korea. Second, various human resources such as librarians, health information specialists, medical specialists, social workers, clinical librarians, health education specialists, and volunteers are utilized. Third, it provides not only print materials but also various information sources such as electronic materials, websites, pamphlets, brochures, and provides health information in various languages. Fourth, in providing health (information literacy) education and programs, services are provided through linkage with hospitals, local public libraries, and local communities. The implications for domestic hospital libraries are as follows: First, the change of awareness of the establishment of hospital libraries and the provision of health information services; second, the support of the curriculum and associations and the need for continuing education; third, it is necessary to link with related organizations for mandatory and diversification of health information services in hospital libraries.

본 연구는 국내외 도서관의 소셜네트워크 서비스 현황을 살펴보고, 노드엑셀을 이용한 네트워크 분석 기법을 통해, 도서관 소셜미디어 활용도에 대해 조사하였다. 국내에서 소셜미디어 홍보를 제일 적극적으로 하고 있는 P대학의 트위터를 노드엑셀을 통해 매개중심성으로 분석해 본 결과 상위 파워트위터리안들을 알 수 있었으며, 추후 도서관 마켓팅에서 핵심이용자로 적극 관리할 필요성이 있음을 보여주고 있다. 홈페이지 이용도는 국내 의과대학 중 의학도서관 홈페이지상에 데이터베이스로 직접 URL 연동되어 있는 K대학 홈페이지를 보손(Voson)과 노드엑셀 네트워크 분석방법을 이용하여 분석해 본 결과, 상업출판사외에 NDSL이 가장 상위로 랭크되어 홈페이지의 활용도가 높음을 알 수 있었다.

In this study, by extracting all relevant types of libraries in the medical field and analyzing their concepts, the research was to clearly define the names and concepts of libraries related to the medical field being mixed and used, to identify types of library, and to draw related legal improvements. The results of the study are as follows: First, the concepts of libraries in the medical field were organized and the types and relationships between libraries in the medical field were summarized. Second, criteria for currently absent hospital libraries are presented based on domestic and overseas research and standards. Third, In order to revitalize libraries related to medical fields in the future, it is necessary to investigate the actual conditions of libraries related to medical fields. Also, It proposed that public hospitals above the hospital level be made mandatory to set up hospital libraries first through national policy and expand services for patients and careers.

This study was conducted for the purpose of suggesting ways to improve KMLA's support programs to strengthen the capabilities of domestic medical librarians. To this end, after investigating the roles of professional associations, common roles were extracted and categorized into five areas, and then the support programs of MLA and KMLA were compared and analyzed. As a result, six suggestions can be made as ways to improve KMLA's support program. First, policy development is needed to officially and continuously support medical librarians. Second, in the area of (continued) education and training programs, educational support in professional areas required in the medical field is needed, as well as education for the role of the IRB committee. Third, in terms of research and publication support, various support for research funds and training programs is required. Fourth, in terms of network and cooperation support, mentoring, leadership, and fellowship programs are needed, and improvements to domestic and international partnerships and support for various awards should also be planned. Fifth, in terms of professional certification and various certificate systems, it is necessary to provide support for obtaining degrees in related fields and to issue certificates through support for various courses. Sixth, KMLA's active internal and external promotion and activities should be carried out to attract donations.

This study focused on library services for patients and carers and conducted an awareness survey on the current status of library services for patients and carers in hospitals in Korea and on future library services for patients and carers. Through this, the ways to activate library services for patients and carers in the hospital were sought. Based on the results of the study, the research team proposes the following measures: First, the legislation for the mandatory establishment of libraries in hospitals and standards for the size, book collection, and manpower of libraries in hospitals should be enacted. Second, cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Ministry of Health and Welfare is essential to lay the foundation for the mandatory and voluntary establishment of hospital libraries at the national level in the future. Third, the operation of regional representative libraries, public libraries, and other institutions should be considered.

This article aims at finding the ways, on the basis of the studies about the behaviors to search the existing CD-ROM databases, so that the searchers who retrieve the on-line MEDLINE used in the medical libraries can use the data more efficiently than now. We gave the questionnaires to the librarians in 60 medical libraries and searched the literatures and realities on the behaviors of the data uses to examine the search behaviors of the MEDLINE in the medical libraries. The result is as follows: 1) The medical data system rate for single users was $53\%$ and the ons for multi users $43\%$. As for the time which users retrieve for a week, under two hours was $75\%$, between 3 and 8 hours $18.3\%$, and eve. 9 hours $6.7\%$. 2) The increasing factors of the search result are (1) an enough discussion and interview between librarians and users, and (2) the use of the correct indexing terms, Thesaurus, and Keyword. In principle users must search directly. However, the librarians searched instead in case that the retrieval result was under two hours a week$(75\%)$. 3) As for the search fee, $91\%$ was free and $9\%$ was charged. Also search effectiveness was enhanced by the means of Inter-Library Loan Service & Information Network. 4) The medical librarians answered the questionnaire that they need the application education of professional knowledge, medical terms(thesaurus) and electronic medium, and also they need the computer education, interview technique and reeducation to give a satisfactory service. 5) As for the satisfactory degree of MEDLINE application, they answered $44.6\%$ for economy, $38.2\%$ for the conveniency of the time required, and $58.9\%$ for the users' search satisfaction answered respectively. 6) The application of MEDLINE system enhanced the medical libraries' image and had an effect on the users' satisfaction of using the data and search, the data activities and the research achievement. 7) In the past MeSH was used but as the time passes CD-ROM MEDLINE search behavior was preferred to On-line one.

This study purpose to identifying the roles of Health Information Librarian which its role is increasing according to increase recent interest in wellness and health. In other words, this study will present the Education, careen duties and so on, which should be possed by Health Information Librarian, based on the analysis of Job Site. As as result, first, health information professional librarian's name appears very diverse, and consumer health information librarian will be appropriate name for public libraries and medical librarian will be appropriate for medical library and hospital library. Second, education experience required for health information librarian is master's degree of library and information science and bachelor's or more health related degree. Third, at least two years of health-related field experience, particularly health information service experience, is required. Forth, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills are required, expecially higher knowledge for health-related information resources is required. Fifth, the main duties what health information librarian need to perform, are library management services, training services, research services, access to and sharing of information resources, collection management, information management, information management technology, and advocacy.

Nowadays the information environment enables users to access the traditional library collection as well as various digital information resources. In this rapidly changing environment, the use of digital information resources such as web sites, data, and homepages has increased. In this research, highly-cited authors' research outcomes as well as the research outcomes of the people, who cited the highly-cited authors' works, were extracted then compared with information stored in the medical colleges' digital libraries and the academic information portals in the clinical medicine area by using the citation information provided by Essential Science Indicators from ISI Web of knowledge. Out of 10,000 authors,146 people's homepages, which present research outcomes, were analyzed. The research outcomes listed in the homepages included journal papers, monographs, conference proceedings, and lecture notes. About 15% of the journal papers, 32% of the monographs, 48% of the conference proceedings, and 100% of lecture notes were accessible only through the homepages. The research outcomes accessible from the homepages were almost analogous to the ones available through the medical college's digital libraries and the academic information portals. Therefore, the digital library collection will be improved and expanded quantitatively and qualitatively by collecting and using the information in the homepages of the prestigious researchers.

The purpose of this study is to suggest a plan for establishing SR (systematic review, hereinafter called SR) support services in domestic university libraries through a case study of SR support services in overseas university libraries. For this purpose, a total of 119 overseas university libraries were divided into all fields (subjects and disciplines) and the medical field. And A total of 10 areas such as service fields, service subjects, public relations, librarian roles (counselors, collaborators), education, librarian introduction, team member, application form, SR theoretical content, and others were divided and investigated. As a result, the SR support service of the university libraries being investigated is expanding from the medical field to academic fields such as natural science, engineering, and social science. It was confirmed that there were differences in service support hours, services, and whether co-authors were recognized according to the role of the librarian. Educational services are provided to users for the SR support service with a focus on retrieval strategy and skills. In the promotion of the SR support service, the librarian must suggest that it should be included. The importance of SR support services for Korean university libraries should be emphasized through the analysis of SR support services for overseas university libraries, professional search education should be strengthened in the curriculum. Also Organizations related to university libraries such as KERIS have suggested that systematic SR education support is needed for librarians.

This paper outlines recent conditions after the collapse of former Soviet Union and presents activities in eight major information-related organizations including International Center for Scientific and Technical Information, Russian State Central Scientific Medical Library. Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology, All-Russian Institute for Science and Technical Information, Natural Sciences Library of Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific and Technical Information Center of Russia, Russian State Library and All-Russian Scientific and Research Institute of State Patent Examination. All of these organizations face economic difficulties brought about by financial crisis and inflation as well as shortage of the state budget. In addition, the domestic information processing technology using computers and computer networks is generally inferior to that of developed western countries due to lack of growth of information infrastructure in Russia.
