Research on the Favorite Design of Motocycle Suits (모터사이클 슈트의 디자인 선호도 조사)

  • Out of a total of 437 subjects surveyed, 83.3 put on motocycle suits when they drive. Though the suits are not comfortable, many motocycle riders put them on for safty reasons. To protect a driver's body, motocycle suits should be patched with protective bands or safty pads in various areas like part of waist, backbone, pelvis and knees. The ratio of dissatisfaction with the preceding motocycle suits was great owing to inconvenience in washing and in posture, especially heavy suits. Their favorite suits were found to be linking or coupled types among two piece styles. Leather was shown to be the preferable material and they wanted designs which the protective bands, or pads can be attatched on each portion for needs of safty against impact but designed for comfort and ease of movenment.

  • China adopted a free market economy and is a member of WTO. It has now emerged as one of the most promising markets in the word for the near future. The purpose of this study was to investigate of Chinese women clothing behavior and preference of clothing design by body types and to suggest basic information for high quality clothes merchandising of exporting to China. The subjects in this study were 280 Chinese women, aged from 20 to 50 living in Beijing. The survey was taken from June to July, 1999. SAS(Statistical Analysis System) is used for frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, $\chi$$^2$-test, factor analysis. The results of this study are as follows. Ewamination on the Chinese womens clothing behavior showed that they attach importance to economy for purchasing clothes and have affirmative self-confidence. The thin body type women prefer to fashionable clothes while the fat body type has more reasonable economic behavior for clothing. It is needed to different merchandising project by body type in China..

A Study on Clothing Purchasing Behaviors and Design Preference of Summer Clothes using Cooling Textiles (냉감소재를 사용한 여름철 의류의 구매행동과 디자인 선호도 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate purchasing behaviors of summer clothes using cooling textiles and clothing design preference in summer season. The subjects were 623 married women aged from 30s to 60s. The research method was a survey and the measuring instruments consisted of purchasing behaviors of summer clothes using cooling textiles, clothing design preference in summer season, and subjects' demographics attributions. The data were analyzed by frequency analysis, multiple response analysis, cross tabs analysis, and $x^2$ test, using SPSS statistical program. The results were as follows. First, important clothing selection criteria were design, price, and textiles. The main items using cooling textiles that female consumers purchased were T-shirts, pants, and outdoor & sportswear. Main information sources of summer clothes using cooling textiles were internet and store display, and purchasing places were fashion outlet, internet, brand store, and department store. Second, female consumers most preferred comfortable and casual style. They mainly preferred white and blue color, pastel and pale tone, plain pattern, and cotton and functional materials in summer season. Third, there were many important differences among 4 age groups on purchasing behaviors of summer clothes using cooling textiles and design preference in summer season.

A Study on the Body-shape Perception, Management and Design Preference of Korean Baby-boom Generation Women (한국 베이비붐 세대 여성의 체형 인지 및 관리와 디자인 선호도에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the preference of design and body shape for korean baby-boom generation women. For this study, in-depth interviews were carried out to 11 women who were born in 1955~1963. They are called korean baby-boom generation. The results were as follows; 1) Korean baby-boom generation women care to their body shape, and they make much of the balance of body, not just looking slim. 2) Korean baby-boom generation women become more interested in their clothing, and they want to look with casual image than elegant image before. But overweight women preferred elegant image. 3) Korean baby-boom generation women prefer mix-match style for everyday clothes, but they prefer suit-set for formal wear. 4) When Korean baby-boom generation women choose of jacket or coat color, they consider more of their body-shape than season color. 5) Korean baby-boom generation women prefer plain style and jacquard with metal yarn. 6) Korean baby-boom generation women prefer out-door cloth fabric, at special time, they choose pure wool and pure silk. At ordinary time, they like more comfortable fabric like cotton mixed spandex or wool mixed spandex blends.

A Study on Pregnant Women's Preference for Design Development of Natural Dyed Maternity Dresses - Focusing on Daegu and Gyeongbuk Regions - (천연염색 임부복 디자인 개발을 위한 임산부들의 선호도에 관한 연구 - 대구.경북지역을 중심으로 -)

  • This study aims to examine the actual condition of and satisfaction with purchasing common maternity dresses and natural dyed maternity dresses as well as purchasing defined factors among pregnant women and those who lately gave birth to a baby. Addressed too are involved problems and the possible solutions. Among pregnant women and those who lately gave birth to a baby living in Daegu or Gyeongbuk areas, a preliminary survey was conducted in July, 2008. After revised and complemented, the 177 copies of the questionnaire were distributed in October of the year, and investigated for two months up to December of the year. Except 6 copies of the questionnaire that were not appropriate for analysis, 171 copies were used, and the results are as follows: First, The majority of the respondents were women aged 30 to 35, full-time housewives, and having a monthly income of 2 million to 3 million won. Second, The respondents preferred one-piece dresses, leggings-type maternity dresses, and pink-tone colors. Third, The respondents regarded the feelings as the most important among the maternity dress purchasing defined factors. Fourth, They preferred maternity dresses priced less than 150,000 won. The respondents showed a lot of interests in and tended to buy natural dyed products.

  • This study aims to analyze the preference of jacket design, practical factors regarding jacket-wearing and purchasing behavior for korean baby- boom generation women. The results are as follows: 1. According to the outfit preference survey, the silhouette most preferred by female baby boomers is the "X-line Silhouette", "hip length", "slightly fitted and well fitted". The preferred jacket colors for different seasons were grey and beige for spring, white and light yellow for summer, khaki and brown for fall and black and dark grey for winter. 2. According to the survey on factors to consider when purchasing jackets, 52% indicated that they "almost never" or "occasionally" had their jackets repaired after purchasing them. When purchasing jackets, the highest expected effect of looking younger by wearing a jacket was "looking 4-5 years younger". 3. According to the survey on price demands, the average purchase price for jackets was 160,000~200,000 won (27.80%) followed by 210,000~350,000 won (25.64%) and a significant difference existed based on the purchasers' economic activities.

  • Omni-channel refers to a distribution channel through which consumers can purchase products without time and place constraints through the fusion of existing online and offline stores. Therefore, a study on the effect of the four characteristics of Omni-channel on customer satisfaction and preference was conducted among 350 and 365 Korean and Chinese consumers, respectively on customers of Olive Young and Watson China, representative drug store brands in Korea and China. Analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS 26.0's statistical package program. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach alpha, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were performed. As a result of verifying the effect of Omni-channel characteristics on customer satisfaction, it was found that convenience, accessibility, and price fairness had a significant positive (+) effect on customer satisfaction for Korean and Chinese consumers. Customer satisfaction was found to have a significant positive (+) effect on preference. This is because Korean and Chinese consumers generally had high satisfaction and preference for Olive Young and Watsons.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze children's clothing preference on animated character color. The experimental materials developed for this study were a set of stimulus and response scales. The stimuli were 30 color pictures, in which gender (boy, girl), type of character (Mickey Mouse, Mini Mouse), hue of character (red, yellow, green, blue, purple), and tone of character (vivid, light, dark) were manipulated. The 5-point scale was used to evaluate children's clothing preferences. Data were obtained from 300 boys and 300 girls living in Seoul, Busan, Jinju, and Changwon in April 2010. For data analysis, ANOVA and Duncan-test were used by using SPSS program. Results of this study were as follows. Tone of character had an independent effect on children's clothing preference. Interaction effects of gender and hue of the character were found. Interaction effects of gender and tone of the character were found. Interaction effects of type and tone of the character were found.

Sensory Image and Preference of the Color Green Shown in Modern Fashion - With Regard to Busan, Ulsan and Gyungnam Area - (현대패션에 나타난 그린 컬러의 감성이미지 및 선호도 - 부산, 울산, 경남 지역을 중심으로 -)

  • After drawing the sensory images from the color green, the difference of sensory images and the difference of the color green according to demographic characteristics and which factors affect the preference have been analysed. The thirty six-photos of 2013 women fashion show on the STYLE.COM were used for the stimuli of green colour fashion for the questionnaire. The people surveyed were adults in their 20s to 50s. The 123 copies of the questionnaire were used for the statistical analysis of this study. Factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ test, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test and Regression analysis test were carried out by SPSS 19 for the statistical analysis of collected data. The results were as follows. The sensory images of green fashion were drawn in six types. The sensory images of green fashion according to demographic characteristics showed a significant difference depending on martial status, age, monthly income and occupation. The preference of green colour fashion according to demographic characteristics showed a significant difference depending on sex, age, monthly income, occupation. The variables affecting the preference of green fashion were identified as four types, and the most affecting variable to the preference was the favorable and familiar factor. These research results will become available on selecting the target customer and making the marketing differentiation strategy when planning fashion products.
