  • Current medical delivery system in Korea has been distinguished into three types; primary medical facilities, secondary facilities, and tertiary facilities since 1989. This system prevents the waste of medical resources along with the maintenance of balance according to the medical treatment subjects. However, it is inevitable that the imbalance of the medical services among regions has been generated due to the concentration of the medical facilities on large cities. In this regard, this study attempted to evaluate the quality of the primary medical services, emphasizing accessibility and convenience targeting Jinju city, a small and medium-sized city, based on the distribution characteristics of the space. The study results show that cohesion index about the spatial distribution of the primary care facilities was 0~0.25. It conducted a correlation analysis between the location of the hospitals and users, based on the study results. Finally, it is demonstrated the correlation between the location of the hospitals and users tended to be low, while, the cohesion of the Oriental medicine clinics was high in other treatment subjects, and the accessibility to the Oriental medicine clinics was the highest because most Oriental medicine clinics were distributed to the places where users were many. However, on account that the locations of the medical facilities and users were varied in other treatment subjects except for the Oriental medicine clinics, problems were generated in terms of the accessibility. Therefore, it is judged that the preparation of the measures to improve the selection of lots in consideration of users, who use the primary medical services, is required.

  • This is the study on the current status and system of the elderly medical and welfare facilities with the subjects in Busan. I investigated the problems related to those by analysing the current status and implementing a survey and then suggested a new facility system as a salvation. At present, the elderly medical and welfare facilities can not receive variety of inmates and also they are operated separatedly so the elderly is not able to receive special treatment and nursing at the same time in one facility. Some nursing facilities can give special treatment by connecting specific hospital when it is necessary, but the connection is not activated than our expectancy at the present. On the base of these problems, this study suggested 'one-stop service system' that can afford to give nursing and special treatment in a place ranging wider areas as the solution. The five types of facility system by integrating the results of survey are as followings. 1) Free special nursing facility + The geriatric hospital. 2) The profit special nursing facility + The geriatric hospital. 3) The geriatric hospital + The hospital rooms with silver town residence type. 4) The actual expense special nursing facility + The geriatric hospital + The hospital rooms with silver town residence type. 5) The geriatric hospital + The residential welfare service. It seems that the preparation for the elderly is urgent when considering the facilities related to those are not special any more because every one is supposed to use them some day. The kinds and the degree of elderly's diseases will be more duplicated and significant afterwards. Therefore it is expected that more various and specialized facilities are to be required.

To this end, the research was carried out by converging the studies of geography and regional development for the equity of social welfare studies and space arrangement on types and functions of Medical welfare facilities for older persons. The main results of the study showed that, first, in case of the spatial arrangement(desire-to-service), Medical welfare facilities for older persons are located in all areas of cities(Si) and counties(Gun) but mostly existing in cities. Second, in case of the equity of regional distribution of Medical welfare facilities for older persons, it can say the equity in Gun is higher than Si, comparing the regions of Si and Gun. Third, in case of spatial equity of sanatorium for older persons, the spatial equity of care facilities for older persons showed statistical difference depending on the time required to reach the facility, but no difference on distance. This study made various suggestions based on the results of the above research, and suggested the necessity of convergence studies grafting technologies such as AI and the Internet of Things.
