Since long ago, there has been a saying that "Drink water to quench thirst, drink alcohol to remove anguish and anxiety, and drink tea to recover from fatigue and refresh mind." Tea is really better for body and mind than water when it is drunken long and is valuable Jinda(眞茶) given by mother nature. In particular, curing tea reflecting characteristics of climate changes in all seasons helps in keeping health. Since tea contains the Yin-Yang system, which is a philosophical ideology of ancient people, old predecessors knew which tea they should brew and drink for curing in harmony with Yin and Yang. As a factor that influences component changes of tea, a complex interaction of heaven, earth and man is important and especially, mind of a person to handle tea is most important. Tea is a natural curing drink, which plays a role as a bridge between humans and nature.

Eum Yang Kwak, the aerial part of Epimedium koreanum, is widely used as a folk medicine for stimulant in man, tonic, and hypotensive purpose. The plant contains icariin (a specific flavonoid), magnoflorine (an alkaloid) and tannin, but their contents are not known until now. In this paper, a quantitative analysis method for them was developed. Determination of icariin and magnoflorine was successfully achived by high performance liquid chromatography equipped with a UV detector in the ranges of $0.1{\sim}0.4\;mg$ and $0.002{\sim}0.1\;mg\;per\;ml$ sample, respectively. Extraction of the plant was carried out with water or 50% ethanol using different decocting temperatures and times. Icariin was well extracted either by water ($100^{\circ}C$, 3hr) or 50% ethanol ($85^{\circ}C$, 1hr), and its content in the plant was measured to be 0.94%. On the other hand, magnoflorine was fully extracted by 50% ethanol ($85^{\circ}C$, 1hr), and its content was determined to be 0.16%. Therefore, decoction of the medicinal plant with water at $100^{\circ}C$ for 3hr turned out to be recommendable for the best extraction.

Sam-Tai-Ji has been used as one of the korean traditional symbol patterns including the emblem of the Seoul olympic. Despite Sam-Tai-Ji included in 태극(Tai-Ji:太極), it has been interpreted widely as Sam-jae(三才)theory called Tian(天), Di(地) and Ren(人), or Tian, Di and Ren harmony thought(天地人 調和思想) by some religion groups and some intelligent people without exact philosophical poofs. For this reason, this research on Tai-Ji(太極) pattern follows. Although Joseon dynasty selecting Confucianism as a ruling principle, it accepted Buddhism, Taoism and Shamanism by applying them to royal tombs not officially but privately. For example, If Confucianism has to be expressed in the public places, Er-Tai-Ji(二太極) pattern having an expressing type of Li-Ben-Lun(理本論) was employed, in the private places like royal tomb construction, Er-Tai-Ji(二太極) pattern having an expressing type of Qi-Ben-Lun(氣本論) was employed. To figure out clear identification of Sam-Tai-Ji(三太極) and Er-Tai-Ji(二太極), this research was conducted to study on the change process of Tai-Ji(太極). It has been considered that Tai-Ji(太極) pattern has something to do with universe in these countries such as Korea, China and Japan. In Tai-Ji(太極) pattern, Sam-Tai-Ji had been used more widely than Er-Tai-Ji(二太極) untill the Han Dang dynasty. The meaning is also indicated as Yin-Yang-Te(陰陽德) in the books like "Hanseo(漢書)" "Yulryeokji(律曆志)". But, in the chinese history, there was a change of the pattern into white spot Er-Tai-Ji(二太極) in "KoTaiJiDo(古太極圖)". It had been interpreted as "Yin-Yang and vitality(陰陽生氣)." since Song Dynasty when Confucianism settled down. In this process, unlike Wu-Ji(無極), Li(理) means immateriality. So Yin-Yang(陰陽) and Li(理) were expressed with the form of Er-Tai-Ji(二太極). Therefore, Sam-Tai-Ji(三太極) is the pattern that stands for Yin-Yang-Te(陰陽德). It means that Yin-Yang(陰陽) gives a life to all the living things, grows them along with Te(德). It developed and flourished in Taoism and Buddhism accepting spirit existence. It is the universe view that Qi(氣) is an entity.

In "Lu's Spring and Autumn", the ideas of all the schools before Qin Dynasty were compiled and the diagram of the Trinity of heaven, earth and man using the category of Yin-yang and the five elements of the universe since the ancient times was established. This can be assessed to be the blueprint for a unified empire closely connecting time and space, and objects in heaven and on earth centered around human beings. In specific, Yin-yang and the five elements of the universe were combined to categorize and schematize all things in the universe, and connect them to human affairs at the same time. Its contents convert almost all academic fields including politics, economics, society, military, astronomy, geography, medical science, education and history. Particularly, the documents popular during the age of civil wars and the ideas of Jikha scholars were synthesized and specified. Yet, it went beyond simple collection of the thoughts and documents since the ancient times in terms of contents and forms, and the method of 12 months for 1 year was selected and prescript was expanded to the various fields of politics and the society. In the Twelve principle, Yin-yang and the five elements, and the ten celestial stems and the earthly ones were combined, the contradiction from the process was solved, and the Rules of Four Seasons Thought was completed. Therefore, even though some parts of the idea of Yin-yang and the five elements in "Lu's Spring and Autumn" is found here and there from other documents, the unificative systematization of the whole has an important meaning in the history of thought. In summary, it has been proved that the Rules of Four Seasons Thought in "Lu's Spring and Autumn" was not limited to the physical unity of Yin-yang and the five elements of the universe, but qualitatively specified particularly in the aspects of agriculture from the people's side and politics from a leader's position.

사물놀이 소리는 천지인의 삼재사상에 근본하는 우리 문화의 정신적 근간들이 생생히 살아 숨쉬는 음악이다. 꽹과리 소리는 하늘의 소리이고, 북소리는 땅의 소리를 나타내고, 여기에 보태어지는 사람의 목소리는 하늘과 땅을 수직으로 이어주는 인성이다. 그리고, 사물놀이 소리는 긴장과 이완, 음양의 원리를 독특하게 지니고 있다. 느린 장단에서 빠른 장단으로 이행되는 점층적 전개 위에서 긴장과 이완의 원리가 날줄과 씨줄로 교직 되어 이끌어 간다. 또한 소리의 음양 조화 측면에서 살펴보면 금속성악기와 가죽악기, 날카로운 소리와 부드러운 소리, 잘게 쪼개어지는 소리와 크게 뭉치는 소리 등이 나타난다. 따라서 세계인들이 "사물놀이는 신을 부르는 소리"라고 극찬하고 있다[1]-[3]. 사물놀이 소리를 들었을 때 그 가락에 쉽게 도취도는 것은, 4가지 악기가 서로 다른 소리의 높낱이 색깔특성에 의해 소리의 음양 조화를 이루고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 우리가 귀로 느낄 수 있는 소리의 범위를 완전히 커버하고 있다는 사실을 우리는 처음으로 밝혀내었다. 즉, 소리를 빛깔로 나타낸다면, 북은 빨강, 징은 노랑, 장구는 초록, 꽹과리는 보라 빛을 의미하며, 이들 색깔은 각자의 아름다움을 특징적으로 나타내고 있다. 그리고, 징과 장구 소리를 들었을 때 다시 한번더 듣고 싶은 친근감을 느끼게 되는데, 그 원인으로는 징소리와 장구의 기본 진동수가 사람의 남녀 목소리 기본진동수와 각각 근접하기 때문에 우리의 가슴과 일치를 이루게 된다는 사실도 이번에 밝혀 내었다. 즉, 징소리와 장구소리를 들으면 사람의 목소리로 응답하는 듯한 친근함과 정다움을 느끼게 된다. 또한 인간은 소리를 귀로만 느끼지 않고 피부를 통해 진동으로도 느끼게 되는데, 사물놀이에서 북, 징, 장구는 그러한 특성이 두드러지게 나타난다. 결론적으로 우리 민족의 지혜와 숨결이 스며있는 사물놀이 소리의 특성과 그 신비를 객관적으로 규명함으로서 사물놀이 소리의 우수성을 입증하과, 문화민족의 자부심으로 새천년을 개척해 나아가는 원동력을 얻고자한다.

Objectives: Therapeutic effect of Yinyang Balancing Appliance of functional cerebrospinal therapy (FCST) for meridian and neurologic yinyang balance was observed in cervical dystonia cases. Methods: Two cervical dystonia cases were managed with the Yinyang Balancing Appliance on temporomandibular joint (TMJ), combined with acupuncture. Clinical outcome measurement was based on subjective measures and clinical observations. Results: The patients showed positive changes even after the initial treatment and this effect maintained over the follow-up period. Conclusions: Although it is not clear the effect is a sustaining or temporary in its nature, a positive effect was observed and further clinical and biological research on FCST is expected.

The purpose of this study was to report the effect of Yinyang balancing appliance (YBA) of Functional Cerebrospinal Therapy (FCST) and Korean medicine methods treating idiopathic scoliosis. YBA was applied for 146 times from 29th March 2014 to 5th September 2015. Herbal medicine used for treatment were Yeonggamgangmisinhaintang, Eokgansangagambang, Gamihangchetang. The change of symptoms was evaluated by Visual Analogue Scale. When treated with YBA and herbal medicine, the patient showed improvement. After about 1 year, the patient was recovered completely. This case showed that YBA and herbal medicine can be effective to improve idiopathic scoliosis.

According to Gestalt theories of perception, this paper studies Japanese-style character design combined with ghost culture. This article sorts out the character design elements of the Japanese mobile game "Onmyoji" in China, and then analyzes the design from the perspective of psychology through Gestalt theories. The form is felt through the systematization of the whole rather than the parts, confirming whether the small design elements of the character can be perceived as the whole story.

The growth of C. pefringens was inhibited by the combination of natural products which have antioxidative capacity C. perfringens was controlled very effectively by each or the combination of Paeonia japonica, Atractylodis rhizome alba, Epimedii herba, Acori graminei rhizoma, Schizandraefructus, Lyciifructus, Cinnamomi cortex Sophorae flos Phellodendri cortex, Nelumbo nuclfera gaertner, Asparagi tuber, Mori cortex radicis, Astrafali radix and Coptidis rhizome The combination of Phellodendri cortex, Epimedii herba, Astragali radtx and Glycyrrhizae radix inhibited the growth of C. pefringen by 75% and increased the antioxidative activity by 4.4 times. This combination also eliminated more than 80% of hydroxyl radical. These natural products can be utilized as pharmaceuticals, functional foods, antiaging tea, and multifunctional fermentative beverages.

Melanization of B16 melanoma cells was comparatively studied by the aqueous extract of Epimedium koreanum Nakai(EK) and $\alpha$-MSH. In addition, inhibitory effects of RA was investigated. B16 melanoma cells(about 1${\times}10_5$) have been shown an increase in tyrosinase activity and melanin contents in proportion to concentration of $\alpha$-MSH when treated with $\alpha$-MSH and incubated for 72 hrs. They indicated a 350% increase in tyrosinase activity and a 290% increase in melanin contents at 8 ng/mL. In case of EK, they have been shown a 200% increase in tyrosinase activity and a 180% increase in melanin contents at 100 ${\mu}g$/mL. In addition of RA to the above condition, they have been shown an inhibition from 350% to 210% in tyrosinase activity and from 290% to 250% in melanin contents in $\alpha$-MSH, and inhibition from 200% to 100% in tyrosinase activity and from 180% to 120% in melanin contents in EK. From the above results, it is suggested that EK promotes melanization of B16 melanoma cells through cAMP pathway, whereas RA inhibits it.
