Fatigue Classification Model Based On Machine Learning Using Speech Signals (음성신호를 이용한 기계학습 기반 피로도 분류 모델)

  • Fatigue lowers an individual's ability and makes it difficult to perform work. As fatigue accumulates, concentration decreases and thus the possibility of causing a safety accident increases. Awareness of fatigue is subjective, but it is necessary to quantitatively measure the level of fatigue in the actual field. In previous studies, it was proposed to measure the level of fatigue by expert judgment by adding objective indicators such as bio-signal analysis to subjective evaluations such as multidisciplinary fatigue scales. However this method is difficult to evaluate fatigue in real time in daily life. This paper is a study on the fatigue classification model that determines the fatigue level of workers in real time using speech data recorded in the field. Machine learning models such as logistic classification, support vector machine, and random forest are trained using speech data collected in the field. The performance evaluation showed good performance with accuracy of 0.677 to 0.758, of which logistic classification showed the best performance. From the experimental results, it can be seen that it is possible to classify the fatigue level using speech signals.

  • 현재까지 항공기에 적용되는 기술들은 수많이 발전해왔다. 조종사의 편의성을 위한 기술들 또한 많이 발전해왔다. 자동운항 등 많은 기술들이 조종사를 보조하며 편의성을 위해 사용되고 있다. 하지만 비행기가 처음 만들어 졌을 때부터 바뀌지 않은 조종의 방식과 항공기의 국제성이 가지는 장시간의 비행은 여전히 조종사에게는 큰 피로를 안겨주고 있다. 본 논문은 조종사들의 피로를 경감 시켜 피로로 인해 발생 할 수 있는 사고들을 예방하기 위해 음성인식을 적용하여 새로운 조종의 방식인 '음성인식을 통한 항공기 조종면의 제어' 기술을 제안한다. 기존의 손을 사용한 조종방식이 아닌 컴퓨터와 조종사의 대화를 통해 데이터를 처리하고 즉각적인 피드백을 받으며 조종사의 편의성을 증가시켜 나아가 피로를 경감 시킬 수 있다.

Acoustic characteristics of speech-language pathologists related to their subjective vocal fatigue (언어재활사의 주관적 음성피로도와 관련된 음향적 특성)

  • In addition to administering a questionnaire (J-survey), which questions individuals on subjective vocal fatigue, voice samples were collected before and after speech-language pathology sessions from 50 female speech-language pathologists in their 20s and 30s in the Daejeon and Chungnam areas. We identified significant differences in Korean Vocal Fatigue Index scores between the fatigue and non-fatigue groups, with the most prominent differences in sections one and two. Regarding acoustic phonetic characteristics, both groups showed a pattern in which low-frequency band energy was relatively low, and high-frequency band energy was increased after the treatment sessions. This trend was well reflected in the low-to-high ratio of vowels, slope LTAS, energy in the third formant, and energy in the 4,000-8,000 Hz range. A difference between the groups was observed only in the vowel energy of the low-frequency band (0-4,000 Hz) before treatment, with the non-fatigue group having a higher value than the fatigue group. This characteristic could be interpreted as a result of voice abuse and higher muscle tonus caused by long-term voice work. The perturbation parameter and shimmer local was lowered in the non-fatigue group after treatment, and the noise-to-harmonics ratio (NHR) was lowered in both groups following treatment. The decrease in NHR and the fall of shimmer local could be attributed to vocal cord hypertension, but it could be concluded that the effective voice use of speech-language pathologists also contributed to this effect, especially in the non-fatigue group. In the case of the non-fatigue group, the rhamonics-to-noise ratio increased significantly after treatment, indicating that the harmonic structure was more stable after treatment.

Comparison of subjective voice symptoms in elite vocal performers and professional voice users (전문 음성사용자와 직업적 음성사용자의 주관적 음성증상 비교)

  • This study aimed to provide knowledge helpful for understanding voice problems related to occupations in the clinical field through an investigation and comparison of subjective vocal symptoms of 12 professional actors and 12 speech-language pathologists Among the 11 symptoms, "Difficulty with high pitch when singing," "Hypertension in the neck when speaking," and "Feel voice fatigue" were the most frequent symptoms in both groups. Additionally, the professional voice users reported a higher frequency of "Difficulty with high pitch when singing" (p=.049), "Hoarse voice" (p=.021), "Difficulty (requiring effort) when speaking" (p=.032), "Pain in the neck when speaking" (p=.009), and "Feel vocal fatigue" (p=.018) than the elite vocal performer group. This may be due to the different voice-related environments and differences in voice demands during occupational activities between the two groups.

  • 수작업으로 이루어지고 있는 환경의 영향이나 작업의 영향에 따른 정신피로나 신체피로의 주관적인 평가를 자동화하기 위한 방법에 대하여 논하였다. 사람의 가장 자연스러운 의사소통인 평가어를 척도로 하여 평가가 이루어지는 음성인식기술을 응용한 주관평가법에 대하여 연구하였다. 주관평가의 자동화를 위하여 우선, 평가어에 대한 음성 인식을 한 후 인식된 평가 결과 데이터를 이용하여 설문지를 자동 생성시킴과 동시에 파일 형태로 저장시켰다. 음성 인식 알고리즘으로는 DTW(Dynamic Time Warping)인식 알고리즘을 사용하였고. 설문지 질의 내용은 집중도 평가를 이용하였다. 인식실험은 설문에 대한 응답에 필요한 평가어를 대상으로 하였다.

  • 항공기에는 많은 시스템이 있고 다양한 장치들이 있다. 이 장치들은 사용자의 명령을 입력받아 사용되는데 자동을 제외한 거의 모든 시스템들은 사용자의 직접적인 조작으로 작동된다. 하지만 여전히 완전 자동화는 되지 않아 사소하고 섬세한 부분에서 조종사는 수동으로 작동시켜 주어야하는 부분들이 있다. 사소한 부분들을 신경써야 하기에 조종사에게 피로는 필수적을 따라왔다. 본 연구에선 현재의 기술에서 더 나아가 음성인식(STT, TTS)을 활용하여 항공기의 다양한 장치들을 원격제어할 수 있게 개발하여 완전 자동화를 목적으로 한다. 음성을 이용한 방식은 조종사에게 손을 사용하지 않는 편리함을 제공한다. 조종사에게 원거리에서 음성으로 조작할 수 있게 해줌으로써 손을 사용하여 조작하지 않아 편의성을 제공할 수 있고 명령을 통해 컴퓨터가 처리함으로써 조종이 간단해진다. 본 연구로 인해 사소한 부분까지 신경쓸 필요가 없어져 조종사의 실수나 피로로인해 일어나는 사고를 방지할 수 있다.

Development of Voice Information System for Safe Navigation in Marine Simulator (시뮬레이터 기반 음성을 이용한 항행정보 안내시스템의 개발)

  • As the technology of Speech Recognition(SR) and Text-To-Speech(TTS) develops rapidly, voice control and guidance system is thought to be very helpful for safe navigation. But Voice Control and Guidance System(VCGS) is not yet so popularly included in Navigation Supporting System(NSS). The main reason of this is that VCGS is so complicated and user-unfriendly that navigation officers hesitate to use VCGS. Frequent errors in operating VCGS due to low rate of SR are another reason. To make VCGS more practicable for safe navigation, we design the user-friendly VCGS. Firstly, by using interviews we survey functions and procedures that navigation officers want to be included in VCGS. Secondly, to raise the rate of SR, we tun the environmental noise in bridge and to reduce the errors due to low rate of SR in operating VCGS, we design the functions of self-correction. Also we apply a user-independent SR engine so that procedures of teaming of speakers is basically not necessary. Using simulator experiments the functions and procedures of the user-friendly YCGS for safe navigation are evaluated and the results of evaluation are fed back to the design. As a result, we can design the VCGS more helpful for safe navigation. In this paper, we describe the features of the user-friendly VCGS for safe navigation and discuss the results of simulator experiments.

  • 환경이나 작업부하 등이 인간에게 주는 피로나, stress 또는 쾌, 불쾌감 등의 감성을 평가하기 위한 정신물리학적인 방법의 하나으로 설문지에 의한 주관적인 평가법이 많이 사용되고 있다. 기존의 수작업으로 이루어지던 설문 방식을 자동화하여 PC 기반으로 설문양식을 자동 생성하고 음성을 통해 응답할 수 있는 프로그램을 개발하였다. 주관평가 자동화 시스템은 주관평가 데이터를 효율적으로 처리를 할 수 있고 음성을 이용함으로써 피험자의 정신적 부담을 경감시키며 생리신호와 주관평가와의 경시적인 변화를 효과적으로 평가할 수 있다. 설문 형식으로는 5점 척도와 7점 척도를 선택하였으며 평가어는 “매우 아니다”∼“매우 그렇다”로 구성되었다. 평가어를 인식함에 있어 좋은 인식률을 얻기 위한 특징벡터의 치수와 기본 프레임 개수를 대상으로 인식실험을 하였다.

Usefulness of Vocal Fatigue Index for Hypertension of Extrinsic Laryngeal Muscles (후두외근 과긴장에 대한 음성피로도 검사의 유용성)

  • Background and Objectives This study compares Vocal Fatigue Index (VFI) scores according to the presence or absence of external laryngeal tension in hyperfunctional voice disorder. And through this, it is to confirm the usefulness of VFI to hypertension of extrinsic laryngeal muscles. Materials and Method The subjects were 61 female diagnosed with hyperfunctional voice disorder (hypertension group 41, non-hypertension group 20). The author palpated extrinsic laryngeal muscles for evaluation of hypertension and classified them as the presence or absence. The voice measurements were jitter, shimmer, Korean-Voice Handicap Index-10 (K-VHI-10), and Korean-Vocal Fatigue Index (K-VFI). The voice compared were according to the diagnosis and presence of hypertension only for patients with hyperfunctional voice disorder. Results As a result of comparing the voice measurement according to the presence or absence of hypertension, there was no significant difference in the acoustic variables, K-VHI-10 and K-VFI-Total, K-VFI-Fatigue. Whereas, K-VFI-Physical (p=0.006) and K-VFI-Rest (p=0.022) were significantly higher in the hypertension group. Conclusion These results indicate that the hypertension group has more physical discomfort and less voice recovery than the group without hypertension. It means that K-VFI can measure the physical discomfort and limitations of voice recovery due to hypertension of the external laryngeal muscle. The VFI can be used as one of the methods to evaluate the hypertension of the external laryngeal muscle in Hyperfunctional voice disorder.

  • This paper deals with feeling recognition from people's voice to fine feature vectors. Voice signals include the people's own information and but also people's feelings and fatigues. So, many researches are being progressed to fine the feelings from people's voice. In this paper, We analysis Selectable Mode Vocoder(SMV) that is one of the standard 3GPP2 codecs of ETSI. From the analyzed result, we propose voices features for recognizing feelings. And then, feeling recognition algorithm based on gaussian mixture model(GMM) is proposed. It uses feature vectors is suggested. We verify the performance of this algorithm from changing the mixture component.
