Study on Coverage Analysis using Interference Cancellation in WCDMA System (WCDMA시스템에서 간섭제거기를 적용한 통화권 분석에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we analyze the coverage of asynchronous IMT(International Mobile Telecommunication)-2000 reverse link with a MUD(Multi-User Detector) system. The MUD system is utilized to increase the coverage of reverse link. Also we have considered a propagation loss model and an interference effect. Because it is very difficult that we have calculated the interference accurately, so a fractional cell loading factor(F) is used in this paper. We make use of a MUD efficiency($\beta$) to analyze the performance; this efficiency is presented the MAI of reduction. A simulation utilizes Hata's model, we calculated the coverage according to voice and data services. In this paper, we have assumed that the frequency of carrier has 800 MHz or 1.9 GHz, and a bandwidth is decided 3.84 MHz. We have predicted the performance of actual system by the analysis of capacity and coverage.

  • As they have more and more intelligence robots or computers these days, so the interaction between intelligence robot(computer) - human is getting more and more important also the emotion recognition and expression are indispensable for interaction between intelligence robot(computer) - human. In this paper, firstly we extract emotional features at speech signal and facial image. Secondly we apply both BL(Bayesian Learning) and PCA(Principal Component Analysis), lastly we classify five emotions patterns(normal, happy, anger, surprise and sad) also, we experiment with decision fusion and feature fusion to enhance emotion recognition rate. The decision fusion method experiment on emotion recognition that result values of each recognition system apply Fuzzy membership function and the feature fusion method selects superior features through SFS(Sequential Forward Selection) method and superior features are applied to Neural Networks based on MLP(Multi Layer Perceptron) for classifying five emotions patterns. and recognized result apply to 2D facial shape for express emotion.

  • Recent advancement in RF technology and wireless communications has enabled the development of noble networks. Bluetooth that can be used in various application field is a kind of WPAN(Wireless Personal Area Network) standard that is widely known. Bluetooth enables voice and data applications to operate simultaneously. Various applications have been implemented based on standard Profiles. In this paper, we describes the development of Biuetooth network AP(Access Point) system for network connection of Bluetooth devices. Unlike headset, mouse, and keyboard, the access point should have capability to support multiple connection and stabilized network throughput. We have designed and developed the hardware system, core stack and profiles on embedded system to comply with standard specification. Our system showed compatibility and good protocol performance through testing with lots of products that is available in market.

  • Visible Light Communication (VLC) is a promising wireless communication technology. It offers huge, worldwide available and free bandwidth without electro-magnetic interference, which makes it very attractive for RF-sensitive operating environments. We propose colored LED-based VLC system for hospital use which includes voice recognition system for operating the medical equipments. New Mr hlation Scheme based on the Light Color Space is suggested to overcome the effect of noise generated by background light. Different color space constellations for different symbol sizes are also suggested which would give better bit error rate performance. Finally, Slotted ALOHA or TDMA medium access control protocols are suggested for multi-user operations.

  • The UMTS is the most widely used specifications to deploy a mobile system and it supports an automatic roaming function. Users in the UMTS can use their phone numbers even in foreign countries without having to change their mobile phones. Also some users want to use other phone numbers which are allocated in foreign countries. To meet such requirements, many methods have been proposed. However, those require much cost to adopt or are not easy to use. In this paper, we propose a software framework that provides multiple MSISDNs with a single IMSI. The roaming SCP is adopted to modify the procedure of the location update and the mobile-terminated call. In the performance evaluation, we compared the proposed scheme with the standard scheme and the schemes in the related works. The results showed that the proposed scheme has 7.6% lower signaling cost than the mobile-station-based scheme and 9.7% lower cost than the telecommunication-network-based scheme.

  • Recently, many methods to analyze signal have been proposed and representative methods are the Fourier transform and wavelet transform. In these methods, the Fourier transform represents signal with combination cosine and sine at all locations in the frequency domain. However, it doesn't provide time information that particular frequency occurs in signal and depends on only the global feature of the signal. So, to improve these points the wavelet transform which is capable of multiresolution analysis has been applied to many fields such as speech processing, image processing and computer vision. And the wavelet transform, which uses changing window according to scale parameter, presents time-frequency localization. In this paper, we proposed a new approach using a wavelet of cosine and sine type and analyzed features of signal in a limited point of frequency-time plane.

  • As a society has progressed rapidly toward a highly advanced digital information age, a multimedia communication service for acquisition, transmission and storage of image data as well as voice has being commercialized externally and internally. However, in the process of digitalization or transmission of data, noise is generated by several causes, and researches for eliminating those noises have been continued until now. There were the existing FFT(fast fourier transform) and STFT(short time fourier transform) for removing noise but it's impossible to know information about time and time-frequency localization capabilities has conflictive relationship. Therefore, for overcoming these limits, wavelet transform which is presented as a new technique of signal processing field is being applied in many fields recently. Because it has time-frequency localization capabilities it's Possible for multiresolution analysis as well as easy to analyze various signal. And when two wavelet base were designed to form Hilbert transform pair, wavelet pair provide superior performance than the existing DWT(discrete wavelet transform) in data characteristic detection. Therefore in this parer, we removed impulse noise by using adaptive-length median filter and two dyadic wavelet base which is designed by truncated coefficient vector.

  • While the multimedia lecture system has been getting smart using immerging technology, the microphone still relies on the classical approach such as holding in hand or attaching on the body. In this paper, we propose a ceiling mounted array microphone system that allows a wide reception coverage and instructors to move freely without attaching microphone. The proposed system adopts cell and handover of mobile communication instead of a complicated beamforming method and implements a wide range microphone over several cells with low cost. Since the characteristics of unvoiced speech is similar to Pseudo Noise it is shown that soft handover are possible with 3 microphones connected to delay-sum multipath receiver. The proposed system is tested in $6.3{\times}1.5m$ area. For real-time processing the correlation range can be reduced by 82% or more, and the output latency delay can be improved by using the delay adaptive filter.

  • The successive and parallel interference cancellation schemes are two well-known types of multi-stage interference cancellation schemes using the conventional correlator receivers as a basic building block, which has been known to significantly improve the performance of DS/CDMA system in the multiple access communication. Performance comparison between these two schemes is made strictly based on the analytical and it has been shown that the successive interference cancellation (SIC) scheme is more resistant to fading than the parallel interference cancellation (PIC) scheme. We further investigate the performance of the successive IC scheme subject to the delay constraint, which may be imposed typically on most of service applications with a real-time transmission requirement, including speech and video applications. Our analysis demonstrates that the performance may be significantly improved by the groupwise successive interference cancellation (GSIC) scheme, which can be properly optimized to meet the given delay constraint.

  • Improving the transmission rates of multi-media delivery, such as moving pictures and internet services, has become increasingly important in modern society. To satisfy such high data rate requirements, the MIMO technique, which has the capacity to transmit large amounts of data using limited frequency resources, was developed. The Space Division Multiplexing (SDM) system is one of the MIMO techniques to be able to improve the transmission capacity. However, it is unable to achieve diversity gain because of interference due to the use of multiple antennas. In this paper, an SDM system that utilizes a Multi-Block method as an advanced transmission technique in a wireless communication system to obtain diversity gain is proposed and discussed fur the performance of the proposed system.
