The multiple mediation model analysis was conducted using the SPSS and PROCESS macro program. The results of this study are as follows. First, there was a positive correlation between self-esteem and grit, while self-esteem and grit had negative correlations with depression, academic helplessness, smartphone addiction. Second, it was found that the relationship between self-esteem and grit was mediated by depression, academic helplessness, and smartphone addiction tendency, respectively, and furthermore, it was found that all pathways mediated sequentially were also significant. These results suggest that education and intervention considering self-esteem, depression, academic helplessness, and smartphone addiction to be useful as a way to help adolescents develop interest in specific goals and continue their efforts in these days when smartphone use is common.

The study subjects were 198 nurses working in four general hospitals, and data were collected from September 18 to September 30, 2019 using a structured questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression using SPSS WIN 25.0. As a result of the study, there was a positive correlation between ethical climate(r=.345, p<.001) and job satisfaction(r=.388, p<.001), but emotional labor (r=-.153, p=.031) showed negative correlation. Factors influencing the retention intention of general hospital nurses are job satisfaction(β=.27, p=.001), age(β=.27, p<001), ethical climate(β=.16, p=044), and the explanatory power of the variable was 24.2%. In order to increase the retention intention of general hospital nurses, it is necessary to increase job satisfaction and create a sound ethical climate, and to develop an intervention program that can increase the retention intention by age.

In the case of people in their 30s, gender, household income level, living with spouse, economic activity, health-related quality of life, food intake, obesity, alcohol consumption, smoking, and subjective health were significant influencing factors, with an explanatory power of 30.3%. For people in their 40s, household income level, living with spouse, economic activity, health-related quality of life, smoking, aerobic exercise, and subjective health were significant influencing factors, with an explanatory power of 34.4%. For people in their 50s, gender, education level, income, economic activity, health-related quality of life, protein intake, fat intake, high blood pressure, diabetes, weight control, aerobic exercise, subjective health, and subjective body type were significant influencing factors, with an explanatory power of 42.3%. Therefore, as it was found through this study that the factors affecting depression in stressed adults differ by age, it is necessary to establish an intervention strategy for each age when trying to lower depression in stressed adults.
