스프링형 블랭크홀더 시스템의 디프드로잉 가공에서 다이면 윤활효과에 관한 연구 (A study on the effect of die lubrication in deep drawing process with spring type blankholder system)

  • The purpose of this paper is to obtain the effect of die lubrication in deep drawing process. The flange wrinkling is analysed by a moment equilibrium method in order to apply the optimum blankholding force to the blank. The experiment has been carried out with the high stiffness spring-type blankholder system. As the result, blankholding pressure is determined in terms of variables in deep drawing process. In the range of frictional coefficient which has been found in this experiment, there was a little difference in required blankholding force but a great difference in drawing force. It was found that the stiffness of blankholder was the major factor which influences on flange wrinkling in spring-type blankholder system.

기계평면시일의 동적 불안정성에 관한 연구

  • 고도의 신뢰도를 요구하는 정밀기계의 보편화는 트라이볼로지 요소중에서 밀봉기능에 관련된 시일의 해석 및 설계가 커다란 관심사로 부각되었다. 특히 고속회전을 요하는 경우에 대한 회전 시스템의 동적 안정성은 대단히 중요하다. 미끄럼 접촉운동을 하고 있는 기계평면시일의 시일링 간극은 대단히 작기 때문에 시일의 접촉면에서 형상이 변화하게 되면 시일 성능은 커다란 영향을 받게 된다. 시일의 접촉표면 가공시 발생되는 평면도(flatness), 조립시의 회전축과 시일축 사이의 중심 맞추기의 어려움, 회전축의 자중량 등 때문에 발생되는 회전링 사이의 상대적인 경사도(misalignment)는 시일의 동적 불안정성에 영향을 준다. 또한 상대 접촉 운동면에서 경계 또는 고체 마찰에 의한 마멸의 진행은 시일의 코닝(coning) 현상을 일으킨다. 본 연구에서는 비압축성 유체가 온도의 영향을 받아 점도가 선형적으로 변화하는 경우에 대한 시일링 간극 내에서의 압력분포를 유한차분법을 이용하여 해석하였다. 여기서 얻어진 결과를 이용하여 시일의 축력과 모우멘트를 해석함으로써 시일의 동적 불안정성에 대하여 논하였다. 이 때 기계평면 시일의 형상은 코닝이 있고, 시일의 중심축이 경사진 경우를 고려하였다.

  • Predicting a pressure drop between inlet and outlet of the filter system is essential in designing the optimum filter system. This experiment has been carried out to investigate several design parameters which influence in a pressure drop, such as different tube length and metal fiber filter mesh size. A 1/50 scale filter system was made to simulate a real filter system. Results are compared with Darcy equation for a porous media.

단층/다층 LB 분자막의 트라이볼로지 특성 (Tribological properties of mono/multilayer LB molecular films)

  • The tribological properties of amphiphilic monolayers and composite multilayer on silicon surface were investigated using micro-tribometer and Auger Electron Spectroscopy. Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) monolayers from behenic acid. 2.4-heneicosanedione(HD) and its copper complex((HD)$_2$Cu) were fabricated on silicon surface and the composite multilayer of 5-bilayer of (HD)$_2$Cu was fabricated on the surface of octadecyltrichlorsilane (OTS) self-assembled monolayer(SAM). We observed that LB monolayers and the composite multilayer exhibited a steady and excellent friction response when compared with the OTS SAM. These LB mono and multilayer also showed much higher wear-resistance than the OTS SAM.

  • The development of automatic production systems have required inteligent diagnostic and monitoring function to repair system failure and reduce production loss by the failure. In order to perform accurate functions of intelligent system, inferencing about total system failure and fault analysis due to each mechanical component failures are required. Also the solution about repair and maintenance can be suggested from these analysis results. As an essential component of mechanical system, a bearing system is investigated to define the failure behavior. The bearing failure is caused by lubricant system failure, metallurgical defficiency, mechanical condition(vibration, overloading, misalignment) and environmental effect. This study described roller bearing fault train due to stress variation and metallurgical defficiency from lubricant failure by using FTA.

  • VCT(Variable Cam Timing) system is one of very useful engine components to improve fuel economy and overcome emission regulation etc. In order to adapt the VCT to a base engine, many design mod ifications in the mechanical and lubrication fields are required. Especially, because the VCT performance itself depends on supplied oil flow rate and pressure, it is very important to evaluate the engine lubrication system in a viewpoint of supplied oil flow rate and pressure. In this paper, unsteady transient flow network analysis on the engine oil circuit system was carried out to do this.

  • A Parametric study based on a computer analysis of the lubrication system of a four-cylinder gasoline engine is illustrated. Through the parametric study, the effects of various aeration levels on the change of oil flow rate and pressure are investigated. Also, at high oil temperature and low engine speed, the effect of oil aeration level on oil flow characteristics in lubrication system is investigated. The illustrated results may give to designers the guide lines of oil aeration level for the safe design of engine lubrication systems in terms of minimum pressure at crank oil bore.

  • Condition monitoring technology has recently been received much attention in the light of its significance on the maintenance of complex machineries such as turbines in power plants. Currently, turbines in power plants are maintained by scheduled overhaul based on the manufacturer's recommendations and the utility's experience. Although this preventive maintenance is known to be very effective, operators have less access to identify failure of elements when it happens between overhaul period. Therefore, in this study, a development of a on-line condition monitoring system through wear debris analysis of lubricating oils is aimed with a view to detecting abnormal wear behaviour of bearings and other wet-components at an early stage, allowing better outage scheduling and minimizing forced outages. For field application purposes, the on-line system developed was installed on the turbine of the No.4 unit at Ulsan Power Plant and its performance has been evaluated on site.

  • In recent years the recording density of hard disk has been increasing largely due to the decreasing flying height of head. However, as the flying height is decreased the reliability issue becomes ever more critical. This is because the reliability and durability of hard disk is related to the head/disk interaction as the two components come into partial or full contact. Onshore Deck Mating for Deepwater Nautilus by Super Lift

  • 대형 시추구조물의 건조는 보통 드라이도크에서 하거나, 해양에서 선체와 데크를 접합하는 방법을 사용한다. 그러나 적당한 해양 접합장소가 없거나 드라이도크의 공간부족으로 현대중공업에서는 드라이도크나 해양에서의 접합건조 대신 부유식 시추구조물을 지상에서 조립하는 방법을 채택하게 되었다. 현대중공업에서는 세 가지 단계를 통해 지상 데크조립을 수행하였다. 첫 번째는 네 개의 철골구조 리프팅타워 상에서 유압리프팅시스템을 이용하여 데크를 지상으로부터 38m 들어올린다. 두 번째는 마찰을 줄이기 위해 윤활제가 칠해진 합성 플라스틱으로 싸인 미끄럼틀(Skidway)을 이용하여 두 개의 6000톤 짜리 하부구조를 데크 아래로 끌어 들인다. 마지막 단계로 데크와 하부구조를 단단히 결합시킨다. 이 과정에 2주일이 소요되었으며 일련의 작업을 거쳐 중량 25,500톤급의 Deepwater Nautilus (RBS-8M) 시추선을 무사히 바다 위로 인도하였다. RBS-8M의 데크결합에 Super Lift를 적용하여 성공시킨 사례를 통해 현대중공업의 초대형 시추구조물 건조방식이 이상적이고, 작업 공기나 원가 측면에서 우위가 있음을 시사하고 있으며 이렇게 건조작업의 대부분을 지상에서 수행한 과정을 통해 작업관리, 품질관리, 일정관리에도 좋은 결과를 가져올 수 있었다.
