Convergence-confinement method of a tunnel with the consideration of seepage forces (침투력을 고려한 터널의 내공변위 제어 미케니즘)

  • When a tunnel is excavated below groundwater table, the groundwater flow occurs towards the tunnel resulting in the seepage pressure. In this paper, the effect of groundwater flows on the behavior of shotcrete lining installed between ground-liner interfaces was studied considering permeability ratio between the ground and the shotcrete into account. Three-dimensional coupled finite element analysis was performed for this assessment. Seepage forces will seriously affect the shotcrete behavior since arching phenomena do not occur in seepage forces. A parametric study was conducted on the various tunnelling situations including interfacial properties between ground and shotcrete lining, the shape of tunnel cross-section and the thickness of liner, etc. Moreover, the convergence-confinement method (CCM) of a NATM tunnel considering seepage forces was proposed. The result showed that the more water tight is the shotcrete, the smaller is the convergence and the larger is the internal pressure. Therefore, the watertight fiber-reinforced shotcrete is found to be even more advantageous when used in under water tunnel.

A Study on the Effect of V-Ring Pressure and Clearance on the Die Roll Height Through the Fine Blanking (파인블랭킹 공정에서 V-링 압력과 클리어런스가 다이 롤 높이에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Minimizing the height of the die roll is very important for maximizing the size of effective shear planes. In this study, the die roll change was investigated for the change in the amounts and clearance of the V-ring indentation. Shear analysis and experiments were conducted with the V-ring distance fixed to 2mm. Fine blanking die was applied to the die insert with different clearances. Several specimens were analyzed about the height of the die roll. As a result, the pressure of V-ring effectively inhibited the flow of materials. And the height of the die roll was lowest when the clearance between the die and punch was 1% of the material thickness.

  • The width dependence of Delta E has been studied by impedance resonance method in Fe-rich amorphous ribbon of as received state. It can be explained by single domain model include effective magnetic field $H_{eff}$ and demagnetization factor $N_d$. Wider width ribbon's effective is smaller than narrow it. Young's modulus also smaller than narrow width. These result well agreement in calculation. It has been also studied that linear magnetic field sensor using width dependence of Delta E under the field range 0 Oe~80 Oe. The sensitivity of the sensor was found to be 95 Hz/Oe.

  • When the revegetation of the slopes is required, it is more desirable to consider it from the ecological view point rather than from the disaster-preventive one because the environment is critical for the introduction of pioneer plants to the denuded slopes. The ecological point of view adheres to the maintenance of the present, original ecosystem of the construction area. The new revegetation technology is presented using native microorganisms and its effective usuage was discussed based on the data in the research field. Direct seeding is recommended and explained in detail than planting seedlings. The importance of inclination angle of slope face is shown for the successful revegetation from its relationship with the thickness of soil. It is indicated that the introduction of pilot plants to the slopes should include their ability to ease the acid rain effects as much as possible. Finally every construction may not be desirable for the maintenance and improvement of the global ecosystem without the consideration of the opinions mentioned above.

Bond Characteristics of Ultra High Performance Concrete (초고성능 콘크리트(UHPC)의 부착특성에 관한 연구)

  • Ultra high performance concrete (UHPC), is characterized by its high compressive strength and advanced tensile behavior that is much superior to those of conventional concrete. In order to apply this new material in practice, the bond characteristics of UHPC were evaluated in this study. Pull-out tests between UHPC and deformed steel rebar were carried out according to the modified RILEM test method, and were verified by finite element analysis. From the test results showed that UHPC presents 5 to 10 times higher bond strength compared to normal strength concrete, this study suggested remarkably reduced development length and concrete cover comparing to existing specifications. The test results of 700 MPa high strength steel rebar demonstrated the applicability of high strength steel to UHPC. In addition, the transfer length measurements of seven-wire strand in UHPC specimens indicated that the transfer length limit set by the current design code is very conservative for UHPC.

  • Flat plate system has many advantages, story height reduction, a term of works shortening and changeableness of space, etc. However structures become a tendency of higher stories and when we use RC column, the size of column grow larger. For this reason the use of CFT column is increasing more and more. Accordingly, this study carried out the nonlinear finite element analysis. As a result of analysis moment strength of the connection increased but ductility decreased as the top reinforcement ratio in th effective width increased. And moment strength and ductility of the connection decreased as gravity load ratio decreased. In the case that shearhead length is not more than 0.27m, the effectiveness of shearhead length on the moment strength and ductility of the connection were small relatively to other variables. Initial stiffness and moment strength of connection increased as slab thickness increased

Accurate Measurement of the Thermal Conductivity of Electronic Materials Using the Flash Method (섬광법을 이용한 전자재료의 열전도율 정밀측정)

  • 일반적으로 섬광법으로 열전도율을 구하기 위해서는 섬광법으로 열확산계수를 측정하고, 시차주사열량계(Differential Scanning Calorimetry, DSC)로 비열측정을 하며 아르키메데스의 원리를 이용한 용적밀도를 구하여 이들 각각의 값을 사용하여 열전도율을 얻는다. 따라서 열전도율을 정밀하게 측정하기 위해서는 이 세 가지 물성치를 측정할 때 수반되는 오차요인을 종합적으로 검토하여 개선하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 섬광법으로 열확산계수를 측정할 때 시료의 전면에 조사되는 빛의 흡수율을 향상시키고 배면에서의 온도상승의 감지를 증대할 목적으로 시료 양면에 흑연코팅을 하게 된다. 이때 코팅된 흑연이 시료에 부가적으로 열저항을 증가시켜서 열확산계수를 측정하는데 가장 큰 오차요인이 되고 있다. 한편 비열은 대부분 DSC로 측정하는데, 시료와 용기의 열접촉 정도에 따라 큰 오차요인이 되기도 한다. 본 연구에서는 열확산계수를 정밀하게 측정하기 위해서 시료에 부가적인 열저항으로 작용하는 흑연코팅의 두께와 시료배면에서의 온도상승곡선 간의 상관관계를 실험식으로 도출하였으며 이방법은 열확산계수를 정밀하게 측정하는데 매우 유효한 방법임이 입증되었다. 또한 DSC의 접촉에서의 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 시료배면에서의 무차원 시간축(t/$t_{max}$)을 도입하였으며. 무차원 시간축에 따른 온도상승 곡선에서 표준시료와 측정시료의 half time($t_{1/2}$)의 0.5 배와 1.5배 사이 구간을 적분한 뒤 비교하여 열량계산으로부터 비열을 구하는 방법을 새롭게 개발하였으며 기존의 DSC에 비하여 정밀도를 향상시킬 수 있었다. 결론적으로 새롭게 제안된 측정기법들은 열확산계수 및 비열 혹정 시의 근본적인 오차요인을 혁신적으로 해결함으로써 정밀하고 신뢰성 있는 열전도율을 측정할 수 있음을 입증할 수 있었다.

  • Multi-Layer Sputtering is aim to develop desired thickness thin film multi-layer with different materials. The multi-layer thin film deposition process occupies a relatively large portion in the process time, because the main reason is that it takes much time to move the substrate to be deposited and to make the chamber into a high vacuum state compared to the process time. Most of semiconductor and display industries sputter a single substance in one chamber and move boards through multi-continuous robots to another chamber to sputter other materials. This will inevitably require multiple chambers, vacuum pumps, and multi-contamination robots within the process facility. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a control system for multi-layer thin film sputtering devices that deposit different materials within a single vacuum chamber and is applied in TFT process. The manufacture and experiment of the control system proved its validity.

  • A Mach-Zehnder type $Ti:LiNbO_3$ optical modulator with a grooved $SiO_2$ buffer layer, was evaluated in terms of an electrode structure. The finite element method was performed to find out the optinum design parameters of electrodes. characteristic impedance ($Z_o$), MW effective index ($N_{eff}$) and attenuation constant ($a_o$)of fabricated traveling-wave electrodes were measured and compared with those obtained by the simulation expectation. For an optical modulator with 11${\mu}m$thick electrodes and a grooved $SiO_2$ buffer layer, the 3dB bandwidth based on the RF measurement results turned out to be 18GHz.

  • In this study, material nonlinear finite element program is developed to analyze reinforced concrete shell of arbitrary geometry considering tension stiffening effects. This study is capable of tracing the load-deformation response and crack propagation, as well as determining the internal concrete and steel stresses through the elastic, inelastic and ultimate ranges in one continuous computer analysis. The cracked shear retention factor is introduced to estimate the effective shear modulus including aggregate interlock and dowel action. The concrete is assumed to be brittle in tension and elasto-plastic in compression. The Drucker-Prager yield criterion and the associated flow rule are adopted to govern the plastic behavior of the concrete. The reinforcing bars are considered as a steel layer of equivalent thickness. A layered isoparametric flat finite element considering the coupling effect between the in-plane and the bending action was developed. Mindlin plate theory taking account of transverse shear deformation was used. An incremental tangential stiffness method is used to obtain a numerical solution. Numerical examples about reinforced concrete shell are presented. Validity of this method is studied by comparing with the experimential results of Hedgren and the numerical analysis of Lin.
