Fashion design applying to features of the Chinese minorities Naxi costume and seven star sheepskin cape (중국 소수민족 나시(納西)족 복식과 치싱양피 케이프의 특성을 활용한 패션 디자인)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate historical and geographical environments in the development of the Naxi costumes of Chinese ethnic minorities and their characteristics-including religious cultures and totem worship-and to suggest the direction of fashion design toward the modernization of traditional costumes. The research methodology involved the collection of materials and investigatation into the history, culture, and characteristics of Naxi costumes; in particular, the "seven-star" sheepskin cape, one of the Naxi people's important ethnic costumes as demonstrated by the women's clothing that has been designed in reflection of this traditional costume. The results are as follows. First, Naxi costumes are found to have overall coherence and distinct locality when retained in the process of modernizing the traditional costume. The theme of this work is titled "By the Light of the Moon and the Stars," which is expressed in contemporary fashion by the use of grey and dark red against a background of black, a color preferred by the Naxi people. Second, the Naxi people's seven-star sheepskin cape is a symbol of women's clothing with its characteristic patterns, shapes, and colors, and it is subject to creative modernization while retaining its unique ethnic characteristics. Third, the work expresses the contemporary stylishness of the costume while maintaining the customary decorative accessories from the Naxi people's traditional culture.

Development of fashion design applying traditional fretwork patterns and Faux Chenille textiles (전통 회 문양과 포 셔닐 텍스타일을 활용한 패션 디자인 개발)

  • The purpose of this study is to apply the traditional Chinese fretwork on the 'Faux Chenille' textile work method in a way of enhancing the decorative features of patterns and developing the fashion design. As for the method, it works on the historic background and advancement of the fretwork and it refers to the bibliographies pertinent to the traditional Chinese geometric pattern. The result are as follows. First, pure cotton and 100% rayon are mixed to make it feasible to produce the texture for the material to be tender and enhanced, and in the process of washing and drying the Faux Chenille textile. The Faux Chenille textile is an important material that is required to select materials with great absorption capability as the most effective material to re-visualize the lines and patterns by sustaining the diagonal lines. Second, the fretwork is designed to process the basic formation for 90° angle with the sense of unlimited extensive line and changes with straight line. It has been confirmed that, if the angle that controls the Faux Chenille textile and the tailoring interval are well aligned, the expression of traditional geometric pattern would be effective and it may be expressed in contemporary style. Third, through the fashion design application by utilizing the Faux Chenille textile of the fretwork, it is confirmed that the contemporary application of the traditional culture could be expressed uniquely and creatively while it is affirmed that the western technique and Asian culture can be blended in harmony.

Facial Exposure Dose Assessment During Intraoral Radiography by Radiological Technologists (구내 촬영시 방사선사의 안면부 피폭선량 측정)

  • The study examined the changes in the decreased facial exposure dose for radiological technologists depending on increased distance between the workers and the X-ray tube head during intraoral radiography. First, the facial phantom similar to the human tissues was manufactured. The shooting examination was configured to the maxillary molars for adults (60kVp, 10mA, 50msec) and for children (60kVp, 10mA, 20msec), and the chamber was fixed where the facial part of the radiation worker would be placed using the intraoral radiography equipment. The distances between the X-ray tube head and the phantom were set to 10cm, 15cm, 20cm, 25cm, 30cm, 35cm, and 40cm. The phantom was radiated 20 times with each examination condition and the average scattered doses were examined. The rate at the distance of 40cm decreased by about 92.6% to 7.43% based on the scattered rays radiated at the distance of 10cm under the adult conditions. The rate at the distance of 40cm decreased by about 97.6% to 2.58% based on the scattered rays radiated at the distance of 10cm under the children conditions. Protection from the radiation exposure was required during the dental radiographic examination.

Analyzing Disaster Response Terminologies by Text Mining and Social Network Analysis (텍스트 마이닝과 소셜 네트워크 분석을 이용한 재난대응 용어분석)

  • This study identified terminologies related to the proximity and frequency of disaster by social network analysis (SNA) and text mining, and then expressed the outcome into a mind map. The termdocument matrix of text mining was utilized for the terminology proximity analysis, and the SNA closeness centrality was calculated to organically express the relationship of the terminologies through a mind map. By analyzing terminology proximity and selecting disaster response-related terminologies, this study identified the closest field among all the disaster response fields to disaster response and the core terms in each disaster response field. This disaster response terminology analysis could be utilized in future core term-based terminology standardization, disaster-related knowledge accumulation and research, and application of various response scenario compositions, among others.

A Study on Risk Factor Identification by Specialty Construction Industry Sector through Construction Accident Cases : Focused on the Insurance Data of Specialty Construction Worker (건설재해사례 분석에 의한 전문건설업종별 위험요인 탐색 : 전문건설업 근로자 공제자료를 중심으로)

  • The number of domestic construction company is expanding every year while the construction workers' exposure to disaster risk is increasing due to technological advancements and popularity of high-rise buildings. In particular, the industry faces greater fatalities and severe large scale accidents because of construction industry characteristics including influx of foreign workers with different language and culture, large number of aged workers, outsourcing, high place work, heavy machine construction. The construction industry is labor-intensive, which is to be completed under given timeline and consists of unique working environment with a lot of night shifts. In addition, when a fixed construction budget is not secured, there is less investment in safety management resulting in poor risk management at the construction site. Taking account that the construction industry has higher accident risk rate and fatality rate, risky and unique working environment, and various labor pool from foreign to aged workers, preemptive safety management through risk factor identification is a mandatory requirement for the construction industry and site. The study analyzes about 8,500 cases of construction accidents that occurred over the past 10 years and identified risk factor by construction industry sector to secure a systematic insight for risk management. Based on interrelation analysis between accident types, work types, original cause materials and assailing materials, there is correlation between each analysis factor and work industry. Especially for work types, there is great correlation between work tasks and industry type. For reinforced concrete and earthwork are among the most frequent types of accidents, and they are not only high in frequency of accidents, but also have a high risk in categories of occurrence.
