Comparative study was performed on heavy metal contents among domestic herbal medicines and imported one. The heavy metal contents in 89 samples of 65 types of herbal medicines were measured by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) and mercury analyzer. The mean values of heavy metal contents (mg/kg) for herbal medicines were as follows: Hg, 0.010 (domestic: 0.010, imported: 0.010); Pb, 0.380 (domestic: 0.311, imported: 0.449); Cd, 0.080 (domestic: 0.101, imported: 0.059); As, 2.085 (domestic: 1.845, imported: 2.324); Mn, 31.564 (domestic: 33.844, imported: 29.283); Zn, 15.436 (domestic: 18.703, imported: 12.168); Cu, 3.406 (domestic: 3.374, imported: 3.437); Fe, 134.944 (domestic: 108.327, imported: 161.561). The measured values of Hg, Pb and Cd of domestic and imported herbal medicines showed lower levels than the recommended levels of those in herbal medicines by WHO/PHARM (Pb : not more than 5 mg/kg, Cd : not more than 0.3 mg/kg). This results will he used as a basic data for the future legislation on the regulation and control of heavy metal contents of herbal medicines.

The biofunctional properties of traditional Doenjang supplemented with the extract of herb medicines (refer as DHM) were examined DHM divided to four groups, I, II, III and IV according to herb medicines were added. Nitrite scavenging-activities from all 4 groups of DHMs were significantly higher than that of control. Also hydrogen donating-activities from all 4 groups of DHMs were slightly higher than that of control. Antibacterial activities against pathogenic bacteria such as Streptococcus mutant and Salmonella enteritidis and fibrinolytic activity of all DHMs on fibrin plate were higher than those of control. On the other those of groups III and IV were higher in sensory score, biofunctional and antimicrobial activities than those of group I, II and control. Therefore, the usage of extract of Korean herb medicines instead of water to make Doenjang will effective in development of traditional soybean Doenjang with the biofunctional properties.

급격한 정보기술의 발전에 따른 인터넷과 폭발적인 휴대전화 등의 보급에 따라 가정, 사회등의 광범위한 부문에 급격한 변화가 일어나고 있다. 정보기술을 이용한 상거래 형태와 사이버 상에서 대규모의 판매점이 늘어나고 있으며 생산자와 소비자 사이에 직접 거래 및 주문거래 등 상거래의 형태가 변화되고 있다. 전통적인 거래 방식이 점차 감소하는 대신 사이버 상에서의 거래 형태는 점차 증가하고 있다. 한약재의 경우는 일반 농산물과는 달리 산지수집상, 도ㆍ소매상, 한약재 규격품 제조업자, 의약품 도 ㆍ소매업소 둥 복잡한 단계를 거쳐 유통되고 있기 때문에 수급조절이나 가격형성 시스템에 많은 변화를 가져오고 있다. 본 논문에서는 한약재 시장을 모델로 하여 다양한 형태의 거래 지원 방법, 거래 형태에 따른 가격 정보를 지능에이전트를 이용하여 처리할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다.
