This study was conducted to provide the basic information on safflower collections and to identify the variations which could be utilized in safflower breeding programs. The agronomic characteristics was used to clarify the genetic relationships among safflower collections and to classify them into distint genetic groups. There were 21 early maturing collections with less than 80 days in number of days from planting to flowering. The number of primary and secondary branches ranged ${3.8{\sim}14.8\;and\;0{\sim}26.9}$, respectively, and two collections, IT201434 and IT202723, were found to be high branch types. The 101 safflower collections were classified into 11 groups based on the complete linkage cluster analysis using agronomic characteristics. The I, II, III, IV, IX, X and ? groups included the 25%, 33%, 14%, 8%, 2%, 1% and 1% of the collections, respectively. All the collections in the group III were Korean landraces. The collections in group X could be characterized as early emergence, late flowering and high yield components such as the number of capitula per plant, number of seeds per capitula and seed weight per plant. The number of capitula per plant and seed weight per plant, i.e., the two main yield components, had the highly significant positive correlations with stem diameter, number of the primary branches, number of the secondary branches, number of leaves and leaf length.
As family types have been diverse, patterns of living and living space became diverse as much as users are. Therefore, it is needed to provide various remodeled design of living space corresponding to changes of users'living patterns, and to provide these remodeling process to users directly on the web. In this paper, use scenario for the Internet-based Virtual Apartment Remodeling Simulator is researched as an export system to remodel space in accordance with users diverse lifestyle paradigm and the website is developed. The study consists of four parts. First, the general concept of remodeling, including the range and types of remodeling, are defined, and the misleading terms in this field are reviewed and organized by secondary research Second, fixed factors and variable factors are differentiated in the complex building for residence and business that was decided as a basic building type in this study. Third, there needed a database for consulting, final material, pre-estimation real estimation for simulation of remodeling. This database was introduced along with floor plan and elevation. Finally, the remodeling simulator is presented by the case study developed on the web. The system structure and use scenario are also presented. In order to present and inspect design alternatives, prototype was produced. The Final simulator was enhanced by defeating problems regarding interface efficiency and missing information of existing online site.
Correlation is a basic statistical concept which is necessary for understanding the relationship between two variables when they change values. In the middle school curriculum of Korea, only informal definition of correlation is taught with two-way data representations such as scatter plots and contingency tables. In this study, we investigated Korean high school students' understanding of correlation using a test consisting of 35 items about interpretation of scatter plot, contingency table, and text in realistic situation. 216 students from a high school in Seoul took the test for 20 minutes. From the results, we could observe the following: First, students did not have right criteria for determining the strength of correlation presented in scatter plots. Most of students could determine if there is correlation/no correlation and if the correlation is positive/negative by seeing the data presented in scatter plots. However, they did not judge by the closeness to the regression line but rather judged by the closeness between data points. Second, when statements about comparing the strength of correlation in the context of real life situation were given in text, the students had difficulty in understanding the distribution-related characteristic of the bi-variate data. Students had difficulty in figuring out the local distribution characteristic of data, which cannot be guessed merely based on the expression 'The correlation is strong' without statistical knowledge of correlation. Third, a large number of students could not judge the association between two variabels using conditional proportions when qualitative data are given in 2-by-2 tables. They made judgement by the absolute cell count and when the marginal sum of two categories are different for explanatory variable they thought the association could not be determined. From these results, we concluded that educational measures are required in order to remove such misconceptions and to improve understanding of correlation. Considering that the current mathematics curriculum does not cover the concept of correlation, we need to improve the curriculum as well.
This study was conducted to investigate genetic characteristics of 25 Pleurotus eringii strains that have been released in Korea based on cultural, morphological features and PCR fingerprints. Strains PER-007 and PER-012 showed distinct cultural characteristics in growth rate, morphological characteristics of mycelial colony and fruiting bodies when compared to those of other strains. Strain PER-007 did not form primordium initiation in sawdust medium and PER-012 also showed different phenotypes on fruiting bodies. Eleven URP primers were used to detect PCR polymophic bands in P. eringii strains. Primers URP1F, URP2R, URP2F, URP4R, URP6R, URP9F and URP17R were selected as useful primers for amplifying PCR polymorphic bands in P. eringii strains. The genetic similarity index was calculated by using PCR polymorphic bands amplified by eight URP primers among the 25 strains. The P. eringii strains were grouped by four distinct clusters on the UPGMA analysis. The genetic similarity values ranged from 100% to 76% were observed in three major groups, suggesting close genetic relatedness of them. Exceptionally, PER-007 and PER-017 were involved in outgroup.
This study was carried out to obtain data concerning the genetic variability of Pleurotus ostreatus. Monospores of P. ostreatus were isolated and cultured to estimate differences in the rate of mycelial growth and genetic similarity among the isolates. Although the overall growth rates were slow compared to their parental dikaryon except 2-MI 4, significant differences in the rate of mycelial growth were observed among isolates. Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis using twenty six random primers showed 345 polymorphic DNA bands from 35 monospore isolates and their parental dikaryon. DNA bands ranged from 0.1 to 4.0 Kb in size. Most various polymorphic DNA bands within monospore isolates were obtained when we used J (OPA-01) or W (OPB-04). The 36-MI 103 showed totally different band patterns from those of the others. RAPD analysis revealed that there is approximatly 75% genetic similarity between monospore isolates and their parental dikaryon except 36-MI 103, which showed only 49% genetic similarity. In addition, genetic similarity degrees were classified into four groups: I (parental dikaryon), II (fast growing type), III (moderate growing type), and IV (slow growing type). However, there is no correlation between mating type and mycelial growth rates.

To modify the physical properties of alginate film, the gamma ray irradiation was performed, and alginate film properties such as elongation strength (ES), elongation rate (ER), water vapor permeability(WVP), and water solubility (WS) were measured. The film made from 1.75% alginate solution (w/w) with the addition of 2% CaCl$_2$ solution suggested a good application for a film preparation in that elongation strength(ES) increased 5 fold by CaCl$_2$ treatment and water vapor permeability was decreased by 17${\sim}$22%. A solid form of alginates were irradiated with Co$^{60}$ gamma rays in the dose range of 2 to 10 kGy to make a low molecular weight alginate film, and then the intrinsic viscosity and the molecular weight of alginates were measured. Increasing the dose range of 2 to 10 kGy produced lower intrinsic viscosity and lower molecular weight, causing the decrease in the ES and WS. However, ER increased four times compared to that of without gamma ray dose, which is an indication of the different properties of algiante film. WVP of the films did not show any significant change at different doses.

Quality characteristics of dough and noodles prepared from Korean wheat flours (Gru and Tapdong) were evaluated by substituting foreign wheat flours and starch in the formula. Korean wheat flours showed greater water absorption and weakness as well as protein and ash contents, but lower stability than the foreign wheat (control) By increasing substituted foreign wheat flours, water absorption of domestic Gru and Tapdong decreased. Dough development time decreased for Tapdong by substituting up to 30% with foreign wheat flours. When imported wheat flours added in Gru and Tapdong, weakness of dough was decreased. Adhesiveness of dough was increased in all samples according to water adding, and Gru particulary showed the most high adhesiveness at 65% water and 10~20% replacement. From the mechanical texture test, Tapdong noodles were increased in cutting force by increasing amounts of imported wheat but decreased in extension distance. However, Cru noodles showed the opposite tendency. Hardness, adhesiveness, and chewiness of noodles were increased in all samples by increasing amounts of substitution with imported starch. As a result of cooked noodles test, Korean wheat noodles showed relatively lower values in cutting force and extension distance than in those of the control Studies of noodle-related characteristics of Korean wheat flours indicated that domestic soft wheat such as Gru might have high quality above the foreign wheat in noodle preparation by adding flours containing high amylose or low gluten.
'The Training for School Organization Management' is a essential teacher training system in order to develop qualification and ability of teachers who have to be the flexible to the recent changeable society. The concept which the school management issue is only belong to the principle is changed now. The thought that 'the school as a team' is broadly accepted. As a result, every teachers including the parents, community people are thinking the solution about the management issues of the school. The changes in the framework of these thoughts is from the recognition that the school management is no longer the preservation only to the manager such as the principle. 'the school linked to the community', 'the school which information is open to all public', the school which is thinking about the curriculum' are highlighted as an alternative which can solve the current education issue. The new curriculum of 'The Training for School Organization Management' is necessary to be in accordance to the new school curriculum because we have to run a new school system in the complex educational circumstance.

This study aims to explore an evolutionary path of the IT service industry in Fairfax County using the Cluster Adaptive Cycle model in economic geography. The analysis is based on detailed historical and industrial information obtained through a variety of data sources including local archival materials, economic census, and interviews. This study also performs a shift-share analysis during the period of 1990 to 2011. Using the adaptive cycle model, the local IT service industry is indicated by a trajectory of constant cluster mutation. The evolution of the local IT service industry has been closely related to federal government policy due to the regional specificity of the National Capital Region and the proximity of the Department of Defense. Although the economic downturn of the late 2000s, the local IT service industry has been notable resilience and adapted to a changing market and technological environment. This constant mutation of the local industry is resulted from not only high resilience which is based on the large government procurement market, the reinforcement of adaptive capacity of the local firms and the network of economic agents such as firm and supporting institutions, but also high flexibility of the knowledge-based service industry to a changing business environment.

A theme park is not just a recreational space for leisure activities, but also a place of storytelling as collected around abstract boundaries called themes. These stories are 'a space that tells the meaning' that the visitor is looking for and the Robot Land space offers robots, humans, and nature. This study is a description of the design strategy and content of the work which was elected as a subject of the subsequent rank negotiation of the Masan Robot Land design contest for the selection of a private contractor. The focus of the plan is, first, the organizational power of each space and the delivery power of a theme for the history of revisits, which might be considered depending on whether or not the theme park has been successful in the visitor's mind. Second, it is to actively use the potential of Masan, which is not only the key hub of the mechanical industry but also has beautiful coastal resources. First, they created a space that can flexibly react depending on the user's desire and the change of form, minimizing environmental damage by using a linear metabolism that can provide an amalgam of the elemental characteristics of robots, humans, and nature as motifs. They introduced a planting plan for the admissions square, an existing forest, slope, vacation spot, the inside of a complex, and Eco Island, etc. by utilizing symbolic meaning and adjusting to the spatial characteristics of each space. In addition, they sought a detailed space by setting up zones tailored to the use and character of the subject area, having exhibitions and education about robots, vacation facilities for lodgers, various recreational and commercial facilities, and space for utopian gardens as themes. They planned Masan Robot Land to be a true cultural space that creates mental richness on the basis of not only the economical effects but also local emotion.
