A Study of Development of All Wheel Steering ECU in Bi-modal Tram (저상굴절버스의 전 차륜 조향 시스템 ECU 개발에 대한 연구)

  • As standard of living is higher and aging society is coming, it is needed to develop transportation that is easy to use for weak person. To comply with the demands, it is started to make Bi-modal Tram that is on KRRI(Korea Railroad Research Institute)'s hands. This tram has to have good accessibility like bus, be low level from ground like subway, and park accurately so wheel chair's or passenger's foot can't fall into the gap. But Bi-modal Tram have long length, so it need development of All Wheel Steering System. The Bi-modal Tram that have all wheel steering system steer not only the first axle but also the second and third axle from the first axle or articulation angle, and velocity, and so on. At this study, we discuss AWS ECU's development process.

Dynamic Characteristics of Ducted Fan: A Study (덕트 팬의 동특성 연구)

  • The dynamic characteristics of a ducted fan in hovering condition were investigated. The section properties of the fan blade were calculated, and a simulation model was developed according to the rotor system components. Dynamic analyses were conducted relative to the rotational speed and the collective pitch. The proposed ducted fan system showed less aero-elastic instability within the designated operating ranges. To verify the analytical approach, a rotating test stand of the ducted fan was set up. A functional test of the assembly was carried out to determine the kinematics and interference between components. The non-rotating and rotating normal frequencies were measured by excitation of the collective pitch using hydraulic actuators. The results indicated a correlation between the test equipment and the simulation model.

Development of Integrated Type Main Frame and Downhole Sonde Apparatus for Hydraulic Packer Testing in Seabed Rock under High Water Pressure (고수압 해저지반 수리특성 조사용 일체형 메인 프레임과 공내 측정장치 개발)

  • The accurate and quantitative ground information on the hydraulic conductivity characteristics of rock mass is one of the key factors for evaluation of the hydro-geological behaviour of rock mass around an excavated opening under high water pressure. For tunnel and rock structures in seabed, where the sea acts as an infinite source of water, its importance become greater with increasing construction depth below sea level. In this study, to improve the problems related with poor system configuration and incorrect data acquisition of previous hydraulic packer testing equipment, we newly developed an integrated main frame and 30 bar level waterproof downhole sonde apparatus, which were optimized for deep hydraulic packer test in seabed rock mass. Integration of individual test equipment into one frame allows safe and efficient field testing work on a narrow offshore drilling platform. For the integrated type main frame, it is possible to make precise stepwise control of downhole net injection pressure at intervals of $2.0kg_f/cm^2$ or less with dual hydraulic oil volume controller. To ensure the system performance and the operational stability of the prototype mainframe and downhole sonde apparatus, the field feasibility tests were completed in two research boreholes, and using the developed apparatus, the REV(Representative Elementary Volume) scale deep hydraulic packer tests were successfully carried out at a borehole located in the basalt region, Jeju. In this paper, the characteristics of the new testing apparatus are briefly introduced and also some results from the laboratory and in-situ performance tests are shown.

Development of Switching and Heating Devices in Embedded Rack Track for Environmental-friendly Mountain Railway (친환경 산악철도 매립형 궤도의 선로전환기 및 히팅장치 개발)

  • Eco-friendly mountain railways operate on concrete rack tracks embedded on existing sharp curved and steep roads to preserve the environment in mountainous areas. Owing to the narrow roads, single lines are inevitable, and many branches are required. In branches, previous switchers and heating devices cannot be applied, because of the limited spacing for the rack and the slow removal of thick ice. To solve these problems, a switch and a heating device have been developed. The switcher changes the line by moving the block of concrete track with hydraulic actuators. The lack of discontinuity reduces the derailment risk and makes locking simple. The heating device uses high frequency induction coils to increase the efficiency and melt the thick ice rapidly. The prototype switcher and heating device were produced and operated to prove their performance. The heating device yielded a 10 times greater efficiency than the previous one. The switcher and heating device are the essential core technologies for the operation of mountain trams in winter and contribute to the spread of mountain railways to domestic or foreign resort areas by enhancing safety and efficiency. In addition, they can provide transportation rights to local residents in poor winter traffic, and bring about tourism and local economic growth.

The quality improvement study on the crack of heat exchanger lubricating oil port in military aircraft (군용항공기 열교환기 윤활유 유입포트 균열개선 연구)

  • The fuel oil/heat exchanger installed in military aircraft is a device that cools the lubricant oil supplied to other devices, such as an AMAD, and a hydraulic pump using the low temperature of the fuel is cracked at the AMAD lubricant inlet port. If a crack in the heat exchanger occurs, the lubricant oil supplied to other equipment is not cooled. Therefore, the flight can no longer be performed. In this study, non-destructive inspection and microscopic examination of the fracture surface of the oil port were performed to analyze the crack tendency. The oil pipe connected to the oil port is a titanium pipe, which is fastened with over torque and has been identified as the leading cause of heat exchanger oil port cracks. In addition, it was verified as the main reason for cracking by finite element analysis. The material and diameter of the pipe were changed to improve this defect, and the applied torque was adjusted. In addition, the bending value of the pipe was adjusted to minimize the fatigue accumulation due to pulsating pressure. As a result, no cracks occurred on the heat exchanger via the ground test after the installation of an improved pipe under the same conditions.

  • 국내에서 대부분 생산되는 사료(사일리지) 수확 작업은 베일 생산 및 비닐 래핑 작업이 독립적으로 수행되고 있어서 비효율적이다. 본 연구에서 개발한 조사료 수확기는 수집, 롤링, 베일 네트 생성, 래핑, 래핑 종료 및 베일 방출작업을 통합적으로 수행하도록 설계-제작하였다. 통합형 다목적 조사료수확기의 설계는 3D 디자인 툴 (CATIA V5R18)을 이용하여 실시하였으며, 기구부 23 파트 어셈블리, 전기제어 어셈블리, 유압요소기술을 통합하여 통합시작기를 제작하였다. 기초 프레임, 오거장치파트, 픽업장치파트, 하부롤러파트, 상부롤러파트, 하부 프레임 및 주행부 파트, 래핑회전파트, 롤러부 구동 동력부, 유압파트, 전기제어파트, 드로우바파트, 체결 및 컨트롤러 파트 등 25개 파트로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구에서 개발한 시작기의 견인력 및 소요동력 분석은 선행 연구에서 사용한 Brixius (1987) 제안 모델을 체택하여 분석하였다. 이 Brixius 제안 모델은 견인력 예측에서 토양변수 및 토양강도 특성을 나타내는 원추지수 (Cone Index, CI)를 이용하여 트랙터의 견인력 예측에 사용하였다. 또한 트랙터-조사료수확기 시스템의 소요 견인력을 예측하는데 있어, 트랙터-조사료수확기 시스템이 운용되는 토양조건과 트랙터의 마력에 따른 소요 견인력 특성을 분석하기 위해 대표적으로 3수준의 토양조건 (CI: 356 kPa, 543 kPa, 1,429 kPa)을 적용하였으며, 베일의 개당 최대무게는 최고 수준인 옥수수 기준으로 800 kgf를 적용하였다. 본 연구에서 적용된 3수준의 CI 조건은 연구팀에서 선행연구과정 (토양특성에 따른 최적 경운작업 시스템 개발, 2006)에서 분석한 전국 10개 지역의 33개 지점의 경반층 CI지수의 측정범위인 1,050-3,170 kPa에 대해 견인력이 많이 소요되는 열악한 조건 수준을 적용하였다. 각 작업에 사용된 소요동력은 베일 작업시 (ASABE D497.7, 2011) 그리고 래핑작업시 (Zhortuylov et al., 2013)를 사용하였으며 두 소요마력을 트랙터-조사료 수확기 시스템의 필요 소요마력의 합계로 계산하였다. 트랙터-조사료수확기 시스템의 최소 소요 동력, 차축 소요 동력과 PTO 소요 동력을 Zoz and Grisso (2003)을 이용하여 계산하였다. 연구에서는 기본적으로 ASAE의 작업속도 및 작업효율을 적용하였는데, 적용된 조사료수확기의 현장 작업효율은 60-86%의 범위이고 일반적으로 70%를 적용하고 이때 작업속도는 2.5-8.0 km/h이며 전형적으로 5.0 km/h를 기준하고 있다. 자주식 (SP; sief-propelled machine) 조사료수확기의 경우 작업속도가 2.5-10.0 km/h의 범위에서 작업효율은 60-85% 범위이다. 적용되는 조사료 수확기의 작업효율인 60-85% 범위에서 일반적으로 적용되는 작업효율인 70%를 적용하면 트랙터의 소요동력은 95hp를 적정 작업환경으로 하였다.

Development of the Automatic Fishing System for the Anchovy Scoop nets (I) - The hydraulic winder device for the boom control - (멸치초망 어업의 조업자동화 시스템 개발 (I) -챗대 조작용 유압 권양기 개발-)

  • Anchovy, EngrauEis japonica scoop nets are used in the coastal of Southern and Cheju of Korea. Especially in the Cheju, the fishing gear of scoop nets consists of upper boom, lower boom, pressing stick and bag net. They are operated by fishing boats of 6 to 10 ton class and 8 persons on board. The booms are controlled by side drum, and the net and pressing stick are hauled by only human power in operating. Therefore this fishery needs to large labor and heavy human power and has much risk. Three kinds of hydraulic winding device which controls two booms was designed and manufactured to reduce heavy labor force of scoop nets, and trial in the sea was carried out to test their performances using the commercial fishing boats of 6 ton class. The proper capacity of hydraulic pump and motor were determined by model test of boom 1/5 scale. The results obtained are as follows, 1. Tension of boom which is being drawn was the strongest and 187.5kgf when the boom's end is in the depth of 4m under the water. 2. The hydraulic motor of the fittest kind of winder has the least leakage per time than the other kinds. 3. In the best type of several winder devices, when the pressure difference was fixed $130kg/^2$ for the safe fishery, the winding velocity of boom line was 2m/sec, is faster 0.48/sec than traditional fishing method and this winder can catch the anchovy of 1.6 tonnage. 4. As a result, the crew were decreased from 8 to 6 and the problem of heavy human power and risk on fishing operation were solved by using the this winder.

Hybrid Control System Using On-Off Type LQG Algorithm (On-Off 형태의 LQG 알고리즘을 이용한 복합제어 시스템)

  • This paper presents a hybrid control system combining lead rubber bearings and hydraulic actuators for seismic response control of a cable stayed bridge. Because multiple control devices are operating, a hybrid control system could improve the control performances. However, the overall system robustness may be impacted negatively by additional active control devices. Therefore, a secondary on-off type controller according to the responses of lead rubber bearings is combined with LQG algorithm to improve the controller robustness. Numerical simulation results show that control performances of the hybrid system controlled by an on off type LQG algorithm are improved compared to those of the passive and active control systems and are similar to those of performance oriented hybrid system controlled by a LQG algorithm with the similar peak and normed control forces. Furthermore, it is verified that the hybrid system with an on-off type LQG controller is more robust for stiffness matrix perturbation than conventional hybrid control of system, and there are no signs of instability in the overall system. The proposed control system also maintains the control performance under not only the design earthquakes but also the other earthquakes. Therefore, the hybrid control system using on-off type LQG algorithm could be proposed as an improved control strategy for seismically excited cable-stayed bridges containing many uncertainties.

A Study on the Development of Bubble Reduction System through Experimentation and Analysis (실험과 해석을 통한 기포저감 시스템의 개발에 대한 연구)

  • This study relates to a device that increases efficiency by reducing air bubbles in a hydraulic system used in hydraulic machinery. The reverse design and product production of the bubble reduction device, which is a commercial product overseas, was carried out. Overseas commercial products were set as the base model, a rotary rotor and an inclined rotor were added to increase the surface area of the fluid, and an annular equal distribution part with a slot in the lower part was additionally applied to distribute the fluid evenly. In addition, internal flow trends were analyzed and a system that evenly distributes the linear flow of fluid was selected as the first improvement model. Based on the first improvement model, a case where the angle of the inclined rotor is 45° was selected as the second improvement model. Based on this, as a result of setting the exit width of the annular equally distributed part as a variable, the bubble reduction efficiency was highest when the lower slot diameter of the annular part was 10mm. Finally, the system in which the average cross-sectional flow velocity decreased by 147% compared to the Base Model was derived as the final improved model.

Rheological Characteristics of ER Fluids at High Pressure-Driven Flow Mode (높은 압력차의 유동모드 하에서 ER유체의 유변특성)

  • This paper experimentally investigates the steady shear behaviors of electro-rheological(ER) fluids under flow mode at high pressure level. As for the ER fluid to be tested, two types of ER fluids are employed; water-based ER fluids (ERF 1, ERF 2) and water-free ER fluid(ERF 3). The water-based ER fluids are composed inhousingly, and the concentrations of dispersed particles are 20 wt% and 30 wt% for ERF 1 and ERF 2, respectively. To generate the flow mode at high pressure, an experimental apparatus operated by two-way hydraulic cylinder is constructed and utilized. The pressure difference is measured by the pressure sensor, while the flow rate is calculated using the measured data of the displacement sensor(LVDT). Consequently, the shear stress and shear rate are distilled by incorporating the measured data; the pressure difference and the flow rate.
