A number of small and medium design companies in Korea are making efforts to develop distinguished products with an aim to survive and prosper. However, it is quite difficult to succeed due to insufficient experience in product planning and the challenges in applying known methodologies, which are based on a large amount of data presented as best practices in designing process, in the actual small and medium enterprise operations. To this end, this study suggested the usefulness of the user participation process as the methodology for small and medium design companies and chose the user FGD method implemented by Company P which is a small design company as an empirical case study. The following are the processes used in the case study; First, the problems of existing baby bath were derived through user FGD. Second, opinions were collected from various classes of users through in-depth interviews. Third, the ideas derived were analyzed with the KJ method and grouped based on similar elements, through which six design directions and detailed design concepts covering size, material, safety, purchase factors of existing product, direction of improvement, additional elements were derived. Through the case study, this study verified that the FGD method of Company P could improve the practical verification, integration and promptness of the product planning process in small and medium enterprises. This is valuable as a realistic process that small and medium enterprises with limited capital and manpower may adopt.

This study focuses on the effects of child daycare center teacher's communication skills on group cohesiveness, empathy, and communication satisfaction. For research purposes, 197 child daycare center teachers were selected for survey on communication skills, group cohesiveness, empathy, and communication satisfaction. Daycare centers were categorized into three groups, including national, private, and home centers. Research results displayed that the communication skills of daycare center teachers had effects on group cohesiveness for all three groups of national, private, and home centers. The communication skills of daycare center teachers provided positive effects on group cohesiveness, contributing to accomplishment of organizational goals. In addition, the communication skills of daycare center teachers had effects on empathy for all three groups of national, private, and home centers. The higher level of communication skills of daycare center teachers will ultimately lead to enhanced skills in understanding and sympathizing with children, parents, and other teachers. Third, the communication skills of daycare center teachers had effects on communication satisfaction for all three groups of national, private, and home centers. The higher level of communication skills of daycare center teachers displayed enhanced level of communication satisfaction between children, parents, and other teachers.

We need education program and contents that satisfy on-off line's education maximize an initiative spirit development in an absence of UI design for infants and elementary students. For the multiplicity of inflection of these initiative spirit development education program, we need development of contents and teaching materials(Cre-kids) that can educate both in on-line and in off-line. Cre-kids are divided of four areas that are increased fluency, flexibility, originality and delicacy. Four areas are ideas of language, visual, making and computer. Through each area, we can develop children's systematic modeling idea ability. And we divide of fluency, flexibility, originality and delicacy each four areas and evaluate each aspect and mark for index. That is CDQ(Creativity Design Quotient). Through the evaluation result, we will be able to study about a modeling initiative spirit index.

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the emotional intelligence of day-care teachers on their career commitment and organizational commitment in an attempt to provide some information on the development of the emotional intelligence of day-care teachers. Two hundred and three teachers in day-care centers in Gyeonggi-do Suwon-si participated in the study and descriptive, correlation, multiple regression analysis were conducted. The results are as follows: First, the emotional intelligence of day-care teachers had a statistically significant positive correlation to career commitment. In addition, among the sub-factors of emotional intelligence, motivating oneself and knowing one's emotion exerted a statistically significant positive influence on career commitment. Second, the emotional intelligence of day-care teachers had a statistically significant positive correlation to organizational commitment. In addition, among the sub-factors of emotional intelligence, motivating oneself exerted a statistically significant positive influence on career commitment.

In recent, much attention has been paid to the educational serious games that provide both fun and learning effects. However, most educational games have been targeted at the infants and children, and it is still hard to use such games in higher education. On the contrary, this paper aims to develop an educational game for teaching mathematical programming to the undergraduates. It is well known that most puzzle games can be transformed into associated optimization problem and vice versa, and this paper proposes a simple educational game based on the subset sum problem. This game enables the users to play the puzzle and construct their own mathematical programming model for solving it. Moreover, the users are provided with appropriate instructions for modeling and their models are evaluated by using the data automatically generated. It is expected that the educational game in this paper will be helpful for teaching basic programming models to the students in industrial engineering or management science.

The abuses on the people with disabilities reported through mass media are, in most cases, related to intellectually disabled people, who are vulnerable to abuse. Nevertheless, the actual condition of the abuses on the intellectually disabled people that had remained unrevealed was examined according to socio-demographic variables, social support network, the ability to perform daily activities, and the type of belonging of the handicapped in each age group. Based on these research results, it has been proposed to operate a rest program for their guardians as main caretakers, to improve the education and evaluation programs for activity assistants, and to enhance the quality of integration.

This study tried to investigate the differences between auditory preferences for a discrimination study of minimal pairs with the different onset and the same nucleus of a syllable on the basis of articulator-distance in case of Korean infants and toddlers. As a result we found a main effect for articulator-distance and age but not an effect according to the types of phonation especially in terms of tense. Former results are line with the previous studies having reported the order of consonants acquisition based on the places of articulation suggesting that more sensitive responses for the contiguous and different phonemes may lead earlier acquisition for the same place of articulation of the speech sounds. Specifically, bilabial soudns are followed by alveolar and palatal sounds in order. The latter results also showed that tense consonants got a high rate of recognition beside lax consonants according to the age and sex.

The purpose of this study is that pre-service teacher are able to design creative instruction based on NFTM-TRIZ for building up their continuous creative thinking and promoting their creative instruction activities. NFTM-TRIZ is a educational technology system to form and develop creative thinking from child to adult continuously based on TRIZ theory. TRIZ is the thinking technique of creative problem solving that can be the tool of inventory solutions by finding and get over the key of contradiction that is necessary to obtain ideal final results of suggested problems. The subjects for this study were 90 pre-service teachers who are attending third and fourth graders of Teachers' College in G university and are taking 'Curriculum and Educational Evaluation'. The creativity program for this study was carried out for ten minutes at the end of lectures. The verification for this study results were performed two faces. First, pre-service teachers presented teaching and learning plan for one time used 8 Steps' Teaching and Learning Model based on NFTM-TRIZ. Second, researcher got feedback from them about this creative program.

The purpose of this research is to examine childcare teacher's cognition of human right awareness for handicapped children and consciousness of social integration. The subjects were 209 kindergarten teachers in G city. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analysis with SPSS ver. 14.0. The results are as follows: Among the childcare teacher's awareness about children with disabilities human right, awareness of right to survive, right to be protected, right to participate, and right to development had direct effects on their consciousness of social integration. Among the social supports influenced by childcare teacher's awareness of human right, informational support and material support had both direct and indirect effects on their consciousness of social integration. Therefore, as childcare teachers' awareness of human right is an important factor for their consciousness of social integration, a systemic human right education for human right awareness should be provided, the necessity of establishing various social support system should be recognized to foster the social environment of respecting young children's human right, and human right awareness should be practiced into action in daily life, in order to help childcare teachers to develop as the main agents of children's human right.

This study is to identify the effectiveness of English literature in reading instruction using meta-analysis of advanced researches. 80 studies published in Korea were selected for this research wherein the studies are in experimental nature on reading instruction using English literature. The result of the meta-analysis are as follows: Reading instruction with English literature for early children in kindergartens and primary schools showed statistically significant positive effects in both reading abilities and affective domains, in particular for younger children from kindergartners to 2nd graders of primary school. It was more effective when the instructor used top-down approach than bottom-up or balanced approach. No significant coorelation was found between the number of English stories and the students' linguistic ability. Diverse activities tailored to students' need are turned out to be more effective than using same old activities with more stories.
