Vibration Control of Flexible Structures by using Conveying Fluid Pipe (유동유체가 흐르는 파이프에 의한 유연 구조물의 진동제어)

  • This paper describes a new vibration-suppression technique for flexible cantilevered structures by using a pipe containing an internal flow. The stability and dynamic response are analyzed based on the finite element method. The flutter limit and optimum stabilizing fluid velocity are determined in root locus diagrams. The impulse responses of the system are studied by the mode superposition method to observe the damping rate of the motion. The stabilizing effect of an internal flow is demonstrated by impulse responses of the structures with and without an material damping. It is found that the response of the pipe with flow of liquid has a larger effect of, stabilizing than that with flow of gas.

  • The study on the heat exchanger with catalytic combustion was performed as the development of the catalytic combustion applications. This study tried to achieve the both goals-the mixture preheating and the heat transfer to working fluid simultaneously by using the steady state catalytic combustion. The combustion characteristics were investigated with the quantitative, qualitative experimental variants of the mixture. In addition, the temperature distribution of catalytic layer was investigated to investigate the correlation between the combustion characteristics and the heat balance of the catalytic layer. As a result, the steady state reaction within the appropriate range of temperature is the critical factor in catalytic applications. To get this, the sensible control of both the mixture flow and the heat balance of catalytic layer were required.

  • 최근 기후변화의 영향과 급격한 도시화로 인한 하천 저류능력의 감소 및 부적절한 하수시설의 설계로 도시유역의 홍수 위험성이 증가하면서 적극적인 구조물적 홍수방어대책으로 대심도터널의 활용에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 일본을 비롯한 외국에서는 대심도터널의 활용이 적극적으로 고려되고 있으며 실제 설치 및 운영 사례 또한 증가하고 있다. 그러나 국내에서는 아직까지 홍수 방어용 대심도터널의 설치 및 운영된 사례가 없고 설계 및 시공과 관련한 기준 및 연구가 미미한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 대심도터널 내부에서의 이상흐름 거동특성을 구명하기 위하여 터널을 모형화한 수평관에서 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 직경 100 mm 투명 아크릴관으로 제작된 수평관 내부를 흐르는 물에 공기를 주입하여 기포를 발생시키고 전기전도계를 이용하여 유속변화에 따른 관에서의 물-공기 혼합 이상흐름의 거동특성에 대해 살펴보았다. 실험결과 터널 계통 전반에서의 물-공기(이상류) 거동 특성을 파악할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 대심도터널 내부 공기에 대한 효과적인 제어로 흐름의 안정화 및 그에 따른 수리성능의 개선효과를 기대할 수 있으며, 도시지역의 집중강우로 인한 수방재 대응 기술개발을 위한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • A Helmholtz resonator is applied to control high frequency combustion instability in liquid rocket engine. Damping characteristics of the Helmholtz resonator are investigated by the flow characteristic and its design. To simulate combustion instability, resonance in a test section(with fixed volume) is made by a pressure pulsator, and then damping characteristics are investigated. Its orifice length and diameter are selected as the design parameters and flow rates are varied to reveal the effect on damping characteristics. The experimental results show that a Helmholtz resonator is also working with flows. When length and diameter of an orifice are small, the tuning frequency increases as the flow velocity increases.

  • Flow characteristics of the cylinder wake controlled with a small control cylinder were experimentally investigated by the PN (Particle Image Velocimetry) technique. Flow visualization of the flow around a circular cylinder was conducted in the Circulating Water Channel. The control cylinder having diameter of d=5mm, 10mm and 20mm was installed behind a circular cylinder of D=50mm. And the Reynolds number were $Re=4.9{\times}10^3,\;Re=9.9{times}10^3$ and $Re=1.9{\times}10^4$. In this study, the frequency characteristics of the controlled wake were analyzed by using spectral analysis of the measured wake velocity signals. As a result, the controlled wake had smaller vortex shedding frequency than that of circular cylinder wake by the effect of the control cylinder. Governing parameters of the flow control were d/D, and Reynolds number and they largely influenced the frequency characteristics of the cylinder wake. And vortex shedding frequency appeared most lowly at d=0.2D

  • The autopilot system of vessel is proposed to take service safety sorority, to elevate service efficiency, to decrease labor and to improve working environment. Ultimate purpose of it is to minimize the number of crew by guaranteeing economical efficiency of shipping service. Recently, the research is being achieving to compensate various nonlinear parameters of vessel and apply it is course keeping control, track keeping control, roll-rudder stabilization, dynamic ship positioning and automatic mooring control etc. using optimizing control technique. Relation between rudder angle controlled by steering machine of vessel and ship-heading angle, and load condition of ship are nonlinear, which affect various parameters of shipping service. The speed and direction of waves, velocity and quantity of wind, which also cause the non-linearity of it. Therefore the autopilot system of ship requires the robust control algorithm can overcome various non-linearity. On this paper, we design the autopilot system of ship, which overcome nonlinear parameters and disturbance of it using Fuzzy Algorithm, evaluate the proposed algorithm and its excellence through simulation

  • 하천공사의 매립 및 준설 시 뿐만 아니라 최근에는 호우 시에도 발생하는 고농도 오탁수의 유출 확산으로 인하여 주변 수역의 수산자원 및 자연환경에 심각한 영향을 미치고 있다. 특히 유사는 하천과 호소에 유입되어 탁도를 증가시켜 수자원의 이용가치를 저하시키며, 박테리아나 각종 미생물의 이동 매개체가 되고 있다. 또한 퇴적된 유사는 유량이 증가하면 다시 침식되어 부유상태가 되며 이때에 영양염류나 독성물질이 재용출 되기도 하는 등 하천의 물리 및 토양환경의 장 단기적인 변화를 유발하는 원인이 된다. 결국 유사는 다양한 방식으로 하천과 호소의 생태환경에 큰 변화를 초래한다. 부유토사의 발생 가능한 피해의 범위와 정도는 유역의 부유토사 발생율과 하천, 호소 퇴적물의 성분종류와 입도분포, 그리고 유속에 따라 결정된다. 따라서 탁수의 영향범위를 예측하고, 악영향이 예측될 경우에는 탁도를 저하시킬 수 있는 오탁물질의 저하기법을 적용하여 그 대책을 수립하여야 한다. 현재 정부가 역점을 두고 있는 4대강 살리기 사업 중 하나인 하천 준설 사업 시 발생되는 고농도 오탁수는 주변 수역의 수자원 및 자연환경에 심각한 영향을 미치므로 자연환경의 보존, 해양자원을 보호하기 위하여 오탁물질의 제어가 반드시 필요한 실정이다. 기존의 오탁 저감시설이나 방법의 경우 오탁물질의 확산을 제어하는데 한계가 있고 오탁물질의 종류와 관계없이 일률적으로 시공함으로서 오탁제어 효과가 의문 시 되고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위하여 오탁물질의 확산 범위를 줄이고 침강효율을 높이는 방법을 찾아 오탁확산 제어 효율을 개선할 필요가 있다. 본 연구에서는 오탁물질 제어 시 2차 응집물로 인한 오염이 발생하는 않는 천연광물 제올라이트를 이용한 실내실험을 통하여 고농도 탁수의 탁도 저감효율을 파악하여 고농도 탁수의 탁도 저감에 대한 제올라이트의 적용 가능성을 살펴보았다. 4대강 살리기 사업 중인 OO강 OO공구의 OO보 현장에서 하천 준설 시 발생하는 고농도 탁수를 이온을 첨가한 제올라이트를 이용하여 확산제어에 관한 효과를 검토한 결과 2,000NTU 정도의 고농도로 유하하는 탁수에 대하여 제올라이트 혼합 후 20분이 경과한 시점에 제거효율이 90%이상으로 제올라이트의 탁수저감 효과가 대단히 크다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, the validity of the numerical model of fishes' behavior presented in our earlier paper was examined by the whiteness test on the residual of numerical model and by the comparison between experiment and simulation on several indexes represented by fishes' swimming characteristics. The validity of the numerical model was proved statistically by means of the whiteness test of the residual. The similarity was confirmed by comparison between experiment and simulation for the swimming trajectory of fishes, the mean distance of individual from wall, the mean swimming speed and the mean distance between the nearest individuals. These results suggest that the behavior of fishes according to the flow speed in three-dimensional space can be estimated partially by the numerical model presented in our earlier paper. However, a long-term approach to improve the modeling technique on the behavior of fishes may be needed before applying the numerical model presented in our earlier paper to real fishing ground.

  • In the present study, disc-type LSCF/GDC (20 : 80 vol%) dual-phase membranes having porous LSC/GDC (50 : 50 vol%) active layers were prepared and effect of active layers on oxygen ion transport behavior was investigated. Introduction of active layers improved drastically oxygen flux due to enhanced electron conductivity and oxygen surface exchange activity. As firing temperature of active layer increased from $900^{\circ}C$ to $1000^{\circ}C$, oxygen flux increased due to improved contact between membrane and active layer or between grains of active layer. The enhanced contact would improve oxygen ion and electron transports from active layer to membrane. Also, as thickness of active layer increased from 10 to $20{\mu}m$, oxygen flux decreased since thick active layer rather prevented oxygen molecules diffusing through the pores. And, STF infiltration improved oxygen flux due to enhanced oxygen reduction reaction rate. The experimental data announces that coating and property control of active layer is an effective method to improve oxygen flux of dual-phase oxygen transport membrane.
