When a great variety of services become available to user through the broadband convergence network in the ubiquitous home environment, an intelligent agent is required to deal with the complexity of services and perceive intension of a user. Different from the old-fashioned command-based user interface for selecting services, conversation enables flexible and rich interactions between human and agents, but diverse expressions of the user's background and context make conversation hard to implement by using either user-initiative or system-initiative methods. To deal with the ambiguity of diverse expressions between user and agents, we have to apply hierarchial bayesian networks for the mixed initiative conversation. Missing information from user's query is analyzed by hierarchial bayesian networks to inference the user's intension so that can be collected through the agent's query. We have implemented this approach in ubiquitous home environment by implementing simulation program.

In recent years, the development of ubiquitous computing environment, according to the time, place, regardless of the environment changes dynamically based on providing a service. In particular, ubiquitous computing environment, education support services in the fields of education according to the principal of each member is required to provide personalized information. Therefore, this paper describes the education support system which provide adaptive information to member of education. The structure of the proposed system consists of mobile agents multi-agent system platform, JADE (Java Agent DEvelopment framework) is based. Also, we describes the design of agents for application services and the interaction model. In this paper, the performance of proposed system to verify availability, classroom teachers, students and parents and administrators as a service application based on the user's role to provide appropriate information system was implemented. Finally, we shows the result of user interface GUIs according to adaptive education services.

최근 유비쿼터스 네트워킹과 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있는 가운데 무선으로 사물의 이동을 자동으로 인식하고 위치를 파악하는 기술인 RFID(Radio frequency IDentification)가 이슈가 되고 있다. 따라서, 유비쿼터스 환경에서 RFID 기술을 이용한 많은 애플리케이션 개발이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 RFID 기술과 유비쿼터스형 에이전트를 이용하여 대형마트에서의 고객의 위치를 파악하고 고객의 쇼핑 동선을 분석하여 최적의 매장관리 및 고객관리를 할 수 있는 지능형 매장관리를 위한 쇼핑 분석 시스템을 제안한다.

최근 유비쿼터스 환경에서 동작하는 지능형 시스템에 관한 관심이 높아지면서, 이러한 지능형 시스템의 개발을 효율적으로 하기 위해 에이전트 기반의 소프트웨어 시스템 개발 방법론 및 지원 도구에 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이러한 시스템들은 에이전트들의 동작환경을 제공하는 에이전트 플랫폼의 사용이 필수적이다. 그러나 실제로 에이전트 기반 시스템을 개발하는 경우 초기 단계에서 가장 적절한 에이전트 플랫폼을 결정하는 것은 어렵다. 또한 개발 중에 다양한 에이전트 플랫폼에 적용 가능한 소프트웨어를 개발해야 하는 경우가 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 MBA를 기반으로 에이전트 기반 시스템 개발 방법론 및 개발 지원 도구를 제공하고자 한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법을 통해 개발자는 개발 초기 단계에서 결정된 소프트웨어의 아키텍처를 기반으로 다양한 플랫폼에 적용 가능한 에이전트 모델과 소스코드를 생성시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 플랫폼 독립적인 에이전트 모델을 통하여 FIPA-OS와 MTI 에이전트 플랫폼 기반의 소스코드를 생성시키는 실험을 하여 제안 방법론 및 도구의 유효성을 검증한다.

This study is aimed at proposing a new type of ubiquitous decision support system (u-DSS) portal which is embedded with two important mechanisms like an intelligent ontology management module (i-OMM) and multi-agent coordination mechanism (MACM). The proposed portal provides timely decision support to the involved decision entities (represented as agents) by taking advantage of the two mechanisms embedded on the portal. The most important virtue of the proposed portal is that it can resolve two problems such as semantic discordance and data confliction which are occurring very often in an ubiquitous computing environment. Frequent requests of revising the already established decision information due to the rapid changes in decision entities' requirements require the extremely flexible and intelligent u-DSS vehicle like theproposed mechanism. In this sense, the i-OMM is designed to provide support to solving the semantic discordance in the way that the i-OMM virtually integrates ontology view (IOV) to integrate heterogeneous ontology among the agents engaged inubiquitous commerce situations. Then the i-OMM sends the IOV to the MACM to resolve the conflicts among the involved agents. The proposed u-DSS portal was applied to the u-fulfillment problem in which all the involved decisionagents need their own requirements to be satisfied seamlessly and timely. The experimental results show that the proposed u-DSS portal is very robust and promising in the field of u-DSS and context modeling.

With the emergence of ubiquitous computing era, it has become increasingly important for a middleware which takes full advantage of HCI factors to support user-centric services. Many kinds of studies on HCI-friendly middleware for supporting user-centric services have been performed. However, previous studies have problems in supporting HCI factors, which are needed for user-centric services. In this paper, we present an agent-based intelligent middleware, which is called AIM, that provides user-centric services in ubiquitous HCI environments. We describe the middleware requirements for user-centric services by analyzing various HCI-friendly middleware and design AIM middleware which effectively supports various HCI factors such as context information management, pattern inference of user's behavior, and dynamic agent generation, etc. We introduce service scenarios based on the user's modalities in smart spaces. Finally, prototype implementation is illustrated as a manifestation of the benefits of the introduced infrastructure.

The service supporting structure for users in ubiquitous computing environment requires technology that divides efficiently resources shared around users according to users context. So, needs research that analyze service items and resources that is offered according to users context information and divide adaptively necessary service and resources. Therefore, in this paper we proposes an intelligent P2P mobile agent that recognizes users context using portable mobile devices and is available for intelligent service by sharing serviced item according to users' context. The proposed structure removes monopoly for specific resources, and supports effective users context-awareness and service.

Ubiquitous computing requires timely supply of contextual information in order to upgrade decision quality. In this sense, this study is aimed at proposing a multi-dynamic decision support system for highly ill-structured problems. Especially, it is very important for decision makers in the ubiquitous computing to coordinate conflicts among local goals and global goal harmoniously. The proposed Multi-Dynamic Decision Support System (MDDSS) is basically composed of both central structure and distributed structure, in which central structure supports multi objects decision making and distributed structure supports individual decision making. Its hybrid architecture consists of decision processor, multi-agent controller and intelligent knowledge management processor. Decision processor provides decision support using contexts which come from individual agents. Multi-agent controller coordinates tension among multi agents to resolve conflicts among them. Meanwhile, intelligent knowledge management processor manages knowledge to support decision making such as rules, knowledge, cases and so on. To prove the validity of the proposed MDDSS, we applied it to an u-fulfillment problem system in which many kinds of decision makers exist trying to satisfy their own objectives, and timely adjustment of action strategy is required. Therefore, the u-fulfillment problem is a highly ill-structured problem. We proved its effectiveness with the aid of multi-agent simulation comprising 60 customers and 10 vehicles under three experimental modes.

MDA 는 OMG 에서 제안한 소프트웨어 개발 방법론으로써, 플랫폼 독립적인 모델에서 플랫폼 종속적인 모델로의 모델 변환을 사용하여 소프트웨어의 이식성, 재사용성 등을 향상 시킬 수 있다. 다중 에이전트 기반 시스템을 개발하는 데 MDA 를 적용하는 것은, 다양한 유비쿼터스 환경에서 동작하는 지능형 시스템 개발을 효율적으로 지원한다. 최근 MDA 를 적용하여 다중 에이전트 기반 시스템을 개발한 연구가 있다. 그러나 이 연구는 에이전트 플랫폼이 고려되지 않고 모델 변환이 자동화 되지 못한 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 OMG 에서 표준화한 방법으로 UML 을 모델을 기술하고 모델 변환 규칙을 적용한다. 이를 통해 하나의 모델로부터 다양한 에이전트 플랫폼으로의 이식성을 얻을 수 있다. 이를 평가하기 위해 이전 연구에서 개발한 전자상거래 시스템의 시나리오를 가지고 에이전트 시스템을 구현하고 그 유효성을 입증하였다.

Computer performance and the development of computer appliances of today have adopted a new shape of concept, "ubiquitous computing." Thus, users can readily obtain access to abundant information as they can utilize the wireless network taking advantage of the ubiquitous concept, which allows usage inhibited by neither time nor location. In this process, the supply and feedback of information tends to be made real in the form of "interactive agent". This interactive agent with the application of artificial intelligence can enhance the reliability of information using friendly characters, and is used as a tool to grasp the intention! and behavior patterns of the users. This paper will take a look at the concept and the definition of the intelligent agent with "added characteristic", and furthermore investigate the potential and the scope of its development analyzing its features and comparing the examples of the domestic market that pursues to generate profits with it.
