Correlation Development on Critical Power in a Spherical Narrow Gap (구형 간극에서의 임계 출력에 대한 상관식 개발)

  • The CHFG (Critical Heat Flux in Gap) test results have been evaluated to quantify the critical power in hemispherical narrow gaps and a new correlation has been developed. The CHFG test results have shown that increases in the gap thickness and pressure lead to an increase in critical power. The pressure effect on the critical power was found to be much milder than predictions by CHF correlations of other researches. From the CHFG test results, a new correlation on critical power in the hemispherical gap has been developed using the non-dimensional parameters as follows: $$\frac{qCHF}{{\rho}g^hfg}{\cdot}4\sqrt{\frac{{\rho}_g^2}{g{\sigma}{\Delta}{\rho}}=\frac{0.1042}{1+0.1375({\rho}g/{\rho}l)^{0.21}(D/s)}$$ The developed correlation has been expanded to apply the spherical geometry using the Siemens/KWU's correlation.

  • Gas generator is the equipment to produce high enthalpy gas used to generate sufficient power to operate turbine and pump system for propellant feeding in liquid rocket engine. Since the limit in operating temperature is imposed due to turbine blade, the gas generator has to be operated at the temperature far below stoichiometric maintaining fuel rich combustion. In this research, fundamental study was performed to understand the non-equilibrium combustion process with in-house code and CFD-ACE as well.

관찰 자료를 이용한 소매점포 성과의 결정요인

  • 점포선택에 영향을 미치는 선행변수들을 규명한 기존 연구들은 주로 점포 방문행동에 초점을 두고 진행되어 왔으나, 이러한 점포 방문행동이 과연 실제 구매행동으로까지 이어질 것인가에 대한 연구는 매우 제한적으로 이루어져 왔다. 본 연구에서는 관찰 자료를 이용하여 점포선택의 단계를 점포방문행동과 실제 구매 행동으로 분류한 후, 이들 각 단계에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 탐색적으로 실증하는데 그 목적이 있다. 소매점포를 대상으로 수집된 관찰 자료를 이용하여 분석한 결과, 경쟁점포의 수를 제외한 유동인구, 소매점포의 시계성과 같은 소매점포의 입지요인과 점포의 크기, 가판대 설치, 판촉 행사와 같은 소매점포의 마케팅 요인이 점포방문행동에 유의한 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 점포방문행동이 실제 구매동향에 미치는 영향력은 주효과뿐만 아니라 상품구색과 같은 점포내부요인과의 상호작용효과가 존재하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 끝으로 이러한 결과의 이론적 및 실무적 시사점이 논의되고, 연구의 한계점과 미래의 연구방향이 제시되었다.

  • In the present paper, experimental and numerical fundamental analyses of the occurrence of lateral force in overexpanded thrust nozzle were carried out. Investigation of the lateral force fluctuations in an thrust nozzle for the shutdown transient was presented. Wall pressure distribution and Schlieren Photographs as NPR were presented. Pressure peak is observed during transition of RSS to FSS.

  • The decomposition of hydrogen peroxide was used for supplementing the oxygen during batch xanthan fermentations in a bubble column bioreactor in order to escape the oxygen transfer limitation that occurred at the high viscosity of culture broths. The xanthan production, however, was inhibited reversibly by dosing hydrogen peroxide. On the other hand, fluidized particles of glass beads with 8 mm diameter led to high gas-liquid oxygen transfer rates in three-phase fluidized beds, which resulted in higher space-time yields of the xanthan production compared to in the bubble column bioreactors.

  • 본 연구는 공기청정기의 성능에 영향을 미치는 인자로서 홉입구, 배기구의 위치 및 형상, 그리고 실내 공간상 배치 등에 대해 수치해석에 의한 모사를 통하여 평가하였다. 해석방법으로는 먼저 유동장을 해석한 후 고정된 유동장 내에서의 먼지 입자의 거동을 검토하였다. 배기구 위치에 의한 성능해석 결과는 배기구를 상면에 위치하게 할 경우 양 측면에 위치한 구조보다 우수한 성능을 나타내었으며, 설치위치에 대한 성능해석 결과는 제한적이나 현관 옆에 설치할 경우 해석된 두 가지 모델 모두 우수한 성능을 나타내었다.

  • 본 논문은 압력차로 인한 유체의 유동장에서 서스펜션의 입자 밀도를 분포 규명하기 위해 적용할 수 있는 Electric Impedance Tomography (EIT)의 새로운 기법에 대한 효율성을 다루고 있다. Regularized Newton-Raphson iterative method를 근간으로 inverse problem의 해를 구하는데, 이는 곧 목적 함수(object function)를 몇 가지의 제한조건(constraints) 하에서 최소화시키는 과정이라 할 수 있다. 한편, 관련 forward problem은 유한요소법(FEM)을 이용하여 해결하며, 기존의 연구와는 달리 선형 형상 함수(linear shape function)를 이용하여 전도도가 연속적인 물성치로 유동장에 분포되어 있는 것으로 가정하였다. 여러 경우의 test run에 대한 결과는 본 논문에서 적용한 방법론의 타당성을 보여 주고 있다. 태양에너지의 추출을 위해 직접촉식 열교환기가 종종 이용되고 있는데, 본 연구는 열교환기 내부의 분산 유체에 대한 해석에 일조를 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

A Numerical Study on Evaporation and Combustion of Liquid Spray (액체분무의 증발 및 연소에 관한 수치적 연구)

  • The vaporization and combustion of liquid spray in a cylindrical shape combustor was studied numerically. Mixture of liquid drops and air was assumed to be ejected from the center-hole and assisting air from the concentric annulus with swirling. Eulerian-Lagrangian scheme was adopted for the two phase calculation, and the interactions between the phases were considered with the PSIC model. Also adopted were the infinite conductivity model for drop vaporization, the equation of Arrhenius and the eddy break-up model for reaction rate, and the k-epsilon model for turbulence calculations. Gas flow patterns, drop trajectories and contours of temperature and mass fractions of the gas species were predicted with swirl number, drop diameter, and equivalence ratio taken as parameters. Calculations show that the vaporization and the consequent combustion efficiency enhance with the increase of the swirl number and/or with the decrease of drop size, and the higher maximum temperature is attained with the higher equivalence ratio.

  • An experimental investigation on the flow and convective heat transfer characteristics has been carried out far aluminum foam heat sink inserted into the annulus to examine the feasibility as a heat sink. Two aluminum foams or different permeability were selected to provide the friction factor and heat transfer correlations as function of Darcy, Reynolds and Prandtl number. Experimental results show that the friction factor is higher than clear annulus without aluminum foam, while $6\sim10$ times augmentation in Nusselt number is obtained. This technique can be used for the compactness of the heat exchanger.

  • In the present work, a numerical study is conducted to investigate the effect of the transient nozzle pressure ratio (NPR) on the flow fields inside the nozzle. The unsteady, compressible, axisymmetric, Navier-Stocks equations with SST $k-{\omega}$ turbulence model are solved using a fully implicit finite volume scheme. In order to simulate the start-up and shut-down processes of the engine, NPR is varied from 2.0 to 10.0. It is observed that the interaction patterns and the hysteresis phenomenon strongly depend on the time variation of NPR, leading to significantly different characteristics in the lateral forces.
