An Enhanced Forward Security on JK-RFID Authentication Protocol (JK-RFID 인증 프로토콜에 대한 개선된 전방향 안전성)

  • In 2009, Jeon et al proposed the lightweight strong authentication and strong privacy protocol, where the tag requrires only simple bitwise operations and random number generator. JK-RFID authentication protocol provides strong security: eavesdropping, replay, spoofing, Location tracking, DoS attack and forward security. Nevertheless, this paper points out the vulnerability of the forward security and improve the process of key updating. As a result, proposes an enhanced JK-RFID authentication protocol providing forward security and verify its satisfaction. In addition, a security and an efficiency of the proposed scheme analyze. Since partial adjustments of the key updating operation in JK-RFID authentication protocol, our protocol improve the forward security.

  • With the development of modern technology, the use of unmanned automation equipment that can replace humans in logistics and industrial sites is increasing. The technology of one such automation facility, the Unmanned Carrier (AGV), includes Line Tracing, which allows you to recognize a line through infrared sensors and drive a predetermined route. In this paper, the shortest time algorithm using Arduino is configured in the line tracing technology to enable efficient driving. It is also designed to collect location and time information using RFID tags.

  • With the recent development of the ubiquitous computing technology, there are increasing interest and research in technologies such as sensors and RFID related to information recognition and location positioning in various ubiquitous fields. Especially, a standard specification was required for compatibility and interoperability in various RTLS(Real-Time Locating Systems) according to the development of RTLS to provide location and status information of moving objects using the RFID Tag. For these reasons, the ISO/IEC published the RTLS standard specification for compatibility and interoperability in RTLS. Therefore, in this paper, we designed and im plemented RTLS based on the spatial DSMS(Data Stream Management Stream) for efficiently managing and searching the incoming data stream of moving objects. The spatial DSMS is an extended system of STREAM(STanford stREam datA Manager) developed by Standford University to make various spatial operations possible. RTLS based on the spatial DSMS uses the SOAP(Simple Object Access Protocol) message between client and server for interoperability and translates client's SOAP message into CQL(Continuous Query Language) of the spatial DSMS. Finally, we proved the efficiency of RTLS based on the spatial DSMS by applying it for the staff location management service.

  • Recently, it is proved that contactless smart-card based RFID tags, which is used for proximity authentication, are vulnerable to relay attacks with various location-based attacks such as distance fraud, mafia fraud and terrorist fraud attacks. Moreover, distance bounding protocols have been researched to prevent these relay attacks that can measure the message transmitted round-trip time between the reader and the tag. In 2005, Hancke and Kuhn first proposed an RFID distance bounding protocol based on secure hash function. However, the Hancke-Kuhn protocol cannot completely prevent the relay attacks because an adversary has (3/4)$^n$ attack success probability. Thus, this paper proposes a new distance-bounding protocol for light-weight RFID systems that can reduce to (5/8)$^n$ for the adversary's attack success probability. As a result, the proposed protocol not only can provide high-space efficient based on a secure hash function and XOR operation, but also can provide strong security against the relay attacks because the adversary's attack success probability is optimized to (5/8)$^n$.

  • The importance of a building management is embossed at construction industry and the concernment about a lengthening longevity and a efficient management of construction project is concentrated. At present, a study about maintenance management of existing building is progressed and normal papers concentrate in partial construction project for showing management method. This paper proposes Management method that make use of RFID/USN at the whole course of construction project that is composed plan, design, supply, construction, operation, maintenance management and so on. First of all, this paper analyzes process and applicable scope of RFID/USN at construction project. At each step, use scope, location, method and so on are decided at plan, design step and equipment, human power, materials and so on are established at supply step. real time progress, human power, safety, material, equipment management and so on put in operation at construction step and building is managemented real time by established sensor tag and wireless sensor network. This paper want to helps efficient project progress and management and presents convenience of maintenance management.

  • In this paper, we propose the reefer container monitoring system that not only monitors internal temperature, humidity of reefer container but also tracks the real-time location using GPS. It consists of a tag of information of situation using 433MHz RF transmitter(communication), GPS to track the real-time location and a device using WCDMA/GSM communication to transmit information to the server. We tested by applying the proposed system in reefer containers with yellow melons, melons transported from Korea to Singapore to track the location and check the temperature and the humidity. The result of this test is that there is a temperature difference around 1.7 degree depending on the position of inside of container and maintains the humidity stably about 97%. If we apply this proposed system to agricultural marketing, it is possible to get the time that fruits start to decay and minimize the loss of fruits by decaying during shipping.

  • Today, Korean medical community faces rapid changes in medical environment due to opening of medical market, more emphasis on making profit and introduction of private medical insurance. Therefore, it is apparent that around, major university hospitals, efforts are being made to adapt to such changes by establishing mid to long range strategic plans. We want to keep pace with changing times and diverse demand of patients by introducing state of the art system, utilizing Ubiquitous technologies for improvements. In doing so, we want to distinguish our hospital services from others. However, Hospital Information System that integrates ubiquitous technologies are introduced in limited basis due to problems like standardization and limits on medical use etc. Particularly, problems like absence of tag design suitable for medical environment, compatibility and extension issue with RFID system need to be addressed on application of RFID technologies. In order to solve such problems, this paper implemented RFID tag system, RFID-SIP UA program, location tracking program. This paper provides a comprehensive basic review of RFID and SIP model suggests the evolution direction of further advanced RFID application service. The design of RFID-SIP application offers advance RFID system with drawback and reduction search time of medical object. so there is a improvement of hospital information system in ubiquitous environment.

  • The multi robot operation technique has emerged as one of the most important research subjects that focus on minimizing redundancy in space exploration and maximizing the efficiency of operation. For an efficient operation of the multi robot systems, the movement of each Single robot in the multi robot systems should be properly observed and controlled. This paper suggests Multi Robot Management System to minimize redundancy in space exploration by assigning exploration space to each robot efficiently to take advantage of the RFID. Also, this paper has suggested fault tolerance technique that detects disable Single robot and substitute it by activated Single robot in order to ensure overall exploration and improve efficiency of exploration. Proposed system overcomes previous fault that it is difficult for central server to detect exact position of robot by using RFID system and Home Robot. Designated Home robot manages each Single robot efficiently and assigns the best suited space to Single robot by using RFID Tag Information. Proposed multi robot management system uses RFID for space assignment, Localization and Mapping efficiently and not only maximizes the efficiency of operation, but also ensures reliability by supporting fault-tolerance, compared with Single robot system. Also, through simulation, this paper proves efficiency of spending time and redundancy rates between multi robot management applied by proposed system and not applied by proposed system.

  • As ubiquitous computing technologies become the important paradigm for replacing internet based IT paradigm and developing the next generation IT, the research and development on the ubiquitous technologies are progressed actively. One of the core technologies for ubiquitous computing is RFID. In this paper, we design and implement the property management system as a new business item using the RFID since the demands for the u-business model that considers the ubiquitous environment are being grown. There are many properties in the organizations such as companies, schools and so on. Many users share these properties. Thus, these fields require efficient management systems for monitoring a variety of information such as the locations and the detailed information of the properties for the monitoring and lending services. We attach RFID tags to every property and monitor their information with our web-based management system. Our management system provides the monitoring service and the lending service for properties and users.

Design of Multi-Meander Microstrip Patch Antenna for Metallic Object in u-City (u-City용 금속 부착을 위한 다중 미앤더형 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, we present a design of meander type microstrip patch antenna which has the best quality in RFID approved international standard of 910MHz broadband, usable in metal environment. In order to be fit into the commercial tag chip on the antenna, a square shaped feeder is installed on the main body as well as in the main body. In addition, a multi meander type patching element was designed in order to reduce the main body effectively. Three antennae, Cases 1, 2 and 3, were designed and compared in the areas of broad band width, effectiveness or recognition distance according to their sizes and number of folds. The measurement result of Case 3 was determined to be the best. It was confirmed that mostly the efficiency and characteristic gain change due to antenna size and number of folds in meander type influenced the antenna recognition distance.
