Approximation of the Performance Loss of an Adaptive Array due to a Neighboring Interferer (근접한 간섭신호에 의한 어댑티브 어레이의 성능 열화 연구)

  • This paper derives an approximate expression for the output SINR(Signal to Interference plus Noise Ratio) of Applebaum type adaptive array under the scenario of the interferer's proximity to the desired signal. The approximation is made in terms of array geometry, the arrival direction of desired signal and that of an interfering signal. An interferer in the close proximity of target signal is shown to drastically impair the away performance. An approximate expression for interferer arrival direction which results in a predetermined performance loss is also obtained in terms of array configurations. Proposed approximation agrees with the computer calculated performance impairment when the two signals are apart by less than eight degrees. The allowable proximity of the interfering signal increases with the number of array elements.

  • 본 논문에서는 멀티채널 오디오 재생시스템을 구성하는 라우드스피커들이 표준위치와 상이한 위치에 존재할 경우 입력된 멀티채널 오디오 신호가 표현하는 음장감을 최대한 유지하면서 주어진 라우드스피커 배치환경에 최적으로 가상음원과 멀티채널 오디오 신호를 재생하는 방법을 제안한다. 능동잡음제어 기술에 이용되는 LSM 기술을 활용하여 원음장과 스피커를 통해 재생되는 복원음장 사이의 오차를 최소화하는 음향공간필터를 설계하여 적용하였으며, 청취평가를 통하여 음장감이 유지됨을 확인하였다.

Performance Comparison of LOB-based Emitter Localization Algorithms (방위각을 이용한 신호원 위치 추정 알고리즘의 성능 비교)

  • In this paper, we present the performance of the LOB(line of bearing) - based emitter localization algorithm. The linear LSE(least-squared error) algorithm, nonlinear LSE algorithm and Stansfield algorithm are considered. In addition, we focus on the performance improvement of the weighted estimation compared with the unweighted estimation. Each estimation algorithm is briefly introduced, and the performance of the algorithm is illustrated using the numerical results.

  • 본 논문에서 제안하는 실내 위치기반서비스는 현행 송수신 통신에서의 움직이는 사용자를 대상으로 한다. 비콘의 주요 송출 신호인 RSSI 값을 이용하여 거리에 따른 비콘의 RSSI 값을 측정한다. 원거리에서 RSSI 값이 불안정하기 때문에 불안정한 신호를 보정하기 위해 RSSI 측정결과 필터링을 사용하여 원거리에 대한 값을 보정하는 알고리즘에 대해 설계 및 구현한다. 이를 위해 초기 단일파을 중심으로 실내측위가 이루어졌으며, 위치보정 및 오차범위에 대한 보정작업 역시 논의되었다.

  • In this paper, the well-known LOB-based emitter localization using linear LSE algorithm is numerically implemented and the heuristic guidelines for the parameter values to achieve 1% RMS error are presented. In the simulation, we changed the total observation durations for LOB measurements, time interval between successive LOB measurements and sensor trajectories. The effects of the time interval of LOB measurements, the time duration of the LOB measurements and the angle of flight path arc on the performance are illustrated. The dependence of the performance on the various parameters is investigated and rule-of-thumbs for the parameter values corresponding to 1% RMS error are presented for each simulation condition.

  • Fingerprinting 방식에서 KNN은 WLAN 기반 실내 측위에 가장 많이 적용되고 있지만 KNN의 성능은 k개의 이웃 수와 RP의 수에 따라 민감하다. 논문에서는 KNN 성능을 향상시키기 위해 ANN 군집화를 적용한 KNN과 ANN을 혼합한 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안한 알고리즘은 신호잡음비 데이터를 KNN 방법에 적용하여 k개의 RP을 선택한 후 선택된 RP의 신호잡음비를 ANN에 적용하여 k개의 RP를 군집하여 분류한다. 실험 결과에서는 위치 오차가 2m 이내에서 KNN/ANN 알고리즘이 KNN 알고리즘보다 성능이 우수하다.

  • We propose a timing-offset resilient OFDMA with achieving full diversity for uplink cooparative base station (BS) systems. In uplink OFDMA, timing offset (TO) among multiple users destroys subcarrier orthogonality and thus, it degrades the performance. In order to avoid this performance degradation, the accurate processing, so called 'ranging', is required to synchronize. However, in cooparative BS systems, it is difficult to perform ranging scheme. This is because if the ranging scheme is performed for a specific BS, timing offset has to occur for other BSs. Thus, the conventional ranging method cannot achieve full diversity gain in cooperative BS systems. By employing TO resilient OFDMA, so called, 'ZCZ time-spread OFDMA'. we achieve full diversity gain even with TO among multiple users. We show that the proposed scheme achieves the same performance with case of no multiple acces interference.

A Study of the Location and Shape of the Ship using GPS (GPS를 이용한 선박 위치 및 자세 형상 제어 연구)

  • The ship movement implies current position, wave, wind, and its other factors. We need to know exactly the location and the shape of the ship and control its motion because of these effects. In order to control the small ship according to the movement of the large ship, the position and shape of the ship should be given first. In this paper we propose the method with which we know the current status of the ship without dynamic equations of the ship. There are several methods to track the system such as optical, radio frequency, radar, camera, and infrared light. We propose the movement of the ship using the GPS absolute axis. But, the genuine error by the GPS itself and the movement of the ship cause the result of the GPS of not being accurate. This paper reduces the error of the location and the shape of the ship and gives the exact values of the ship movements even if the GPS implies some error itself.

A study of ubiquitous-RTLS system for worker safety (작업자 안전관리를 위한 유비쿼터스-실시간 위치추적시스템 연구)

  • At the industrial work site, the manufacturing process is being automated to improve work efficiency. However, it is often difficult to automate the entire manufacturing process, and there are spaces in which workers there are constantly exposed to danger. To protect such workers from the danger, this paper studied a worker safety management system for the industrial work site which uses a location recognition system and which is based on the Ubiquitous-Wireless Sensor Network (U-WSN). Using wireless signals, the distance between two devices can be measured and the location of a worker can be calculated using triangularization in 3-D. But at the industrial work sites where there are a lot of steel and structures, errors occur due to signal reflection and multi-path, etc., which makes it difficult to get the accurate location. To address this problem the following was done: first, a circular polarization patch antenna appropriate to the work site was used to reduce the degree of error that may occur from the antenna emission pattern and the particular Line of Sight (LOS); second, a 3-D localization technique and a filtering algorithm were used to improve the accuracy of location determination. The developed system was tested by using it on a wharf crane to validate its accuracy and effectiveness. The proposed location recognition system is expected to contribute greatly in ensuring the safety of workers at industrial work sites.

  • 현재 IoT의 발달로 인해서 많은 위치기반 서비스들이 개발되고 있고 이러한 서비스들을 위해서는 사용자의 정확한 위치 획득이 요구되고 있다. 현재 실내 환경에서 사용자의 위치 획득을 위한 여러 장치들 중 블루투스 비콘이 널리 사용되고 있는데, 비콘은 저전력으로 수명이 길고 설치하기 용이한 장점이 있지만 비콘으로부터 수신되는 신호 자체의 불안정성과 수신신호에 여러 잡음들이 섞이는 문제점 때문에 측위 결과에 큰 오차가 발생하게 되는 단점도 있다. 한편, 최근에는 보다 원할한 위치기반 서비스 제공을 위하여 UWB 기능이 스마트폰에 내재되어 나오면서 사용자에게 점차 보급되는 추세이다. UWB는 블루투스 비콘에 비해 가격이 비싸고 전력소모가 많지만 측위에서의 높은 정확도를 얻을 수 있다고 알려져 있다. 본 논문에서는 비콘과 UWB의 두 방식을 이용하여 실내측위를 수행할 때 실제 측정을 통해서 실내 전파수신 환경을 분석하고, 측정된 데이터를 바탕으로 실내 전파수신 환경을 모델링하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 측정 데이터와 시뮬레이션 결과의 정확도를 상호 분석하였으며, 블루투스 비콘과 UWB 방식의 실내측위 수행결과를 측정과 시뮬레이션 결과를 바탕으로 비교, 분석하였다.
