Performance Evaluation of Catalog Management Schemes for Distributed XML Database at the Query Compile Time (분산 XML 데이터베이스에서 질의 컴파일 시 카탈로그 관리 기법의 성능 평가)

  • 최근 컴퓨팅 환경은 클라이언트-서버(client-server) 환경에서 웹(World Wide Web)을 기반으로 한 분산 컴퓨팅(distributed computint) 환경으로 변화하고 있다. 그에 따라 XML 문서의 사용과 XML 문서의 양이 급속하게 증가하였다. 언제 어디서나 쉽게 필요한 XML 문서에 접근해야하며, 이러한 응용을 위해 짧은 시간 내에 그 정보를 전달할 수 있어야 한다. 이에 따라 분산 환경에서의 XML 문서의 처리가 요구된다. XML 데이터를 분산 데이터베이스의 특성을 이용하여 저장, 관리, 질의하는 분산 XML 데이터베이스 시스템(Distributed XML Database System)의 사용의 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라, 사이트의 자치성, 질의 최적화, 데이터의 투명성 등에 큰 영향을 미치는 분산 XML 데이터베이스 시스템에서의 카탈로그 관리 기법의 연구의 필요성이 증가하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 중앙 집중식 카탈로그와 완전 중복식 카탈로그, 분할식 카탈로그를 분산 XML 데이터베이스 시스템에서 CPU 비용, I/O 비용, 동시성 제어, 이단계 완료 프로토콜, 큐잉 지연 등을 모두 고려한 모델을 설계하였고, 이를 시뮬레이터로 구현하여 각 카탈로그 관리 기법들의 성능을 합리적인 환경 설정을 통해 시뮬레이션함으로써 카탈로그 관리 기법들의 성능을 평가하였다.

SNS-based Site connected with shopping Using Avatar (아바타를 활용한 SNS 기반 쇼핑 연계 사이트)

  • This paper is implemented new styled site to combine community of blog style for SNS and shopping mall. Especially, this site is included simulation of coordination in fashion with avatar model. It makes indirect experience of clothing and user-friendly user interface that is different to other Web sites or shopping malls. So this avatar is designed and implemented by using flash animation technique that makes confirm possible coordination styles with eyes of client instantly and review goods very easily. Additionally, it makes pay attention to connect shopping malls and service convenience by SNS.

  • 최근 1인가구가 늘어나면서 자신의 집을 직접 꾸밀 수 있는 인테리어 시장에 관심이 쏠리고 있다. 이에 따라, 온라인상에서 인테리어 및 리모델링을 해 불 수 있는 프로그램들이 각광을 받고 있으나, 종래의 인테리어 프로그램들은 고용량의 프로그램이거나 처움 접하는 사용자가 사용하기 어려운 인터페이스를 가진 프로그램들이 대부분이다. 본 연구에서는 Unity를 이용하여 웹상에서 손쉽게 인테리어를 해 보고 가상현실 체험까지 해 볼 수 있는 가상현실 기술을 활용한 프로그램을 구현하였다. 구현된 프로그램은 초보자도 전문가의 도움 없이 가구의 재배치, 방의 확장 및 구조 변경 등 자기취향에 맞는 인테리어를 웹상에서 가상으로 시도해 보고, 그 결과를 가상현실 체험기기로 체험해 볼 수 있어, 셀프 인테리어와 리모델링을 원하는 사용자에게 시간과 비용을 절감시켜주고 만족감을 더욱 높여 주는 효과가 있다.

A Study on the Creating Metaverse Service Platform for Web-based Vehicle Dynamics Simulation (웹 기반 차량동역학 시뮬레이션을 위한 메타버스 서비스 플랫폼 구축에 관한 연구)

  • Recently the car tuning has become a trailblazing and creative culture that expresses the personality of the owner. In this paper, the "Car-Vatar", which is the compound word formed from the words "Car" and "Avatar", has been developed to investigate car tuning on the metaverse engineering platform. The Car-Vatar has been developed as a web-based vehicle dynamic simulation service for providing information about car tuning. That has been focused on investigating diverse vehicular performances, such as acceleration, braking, handling and fuel efficiency, according to the tuning vehicles and tuning parts on the virtual engineering platform. The Car-Vatar platform has provided two major services; one is real-time 3D tuning information system for the dress-up and performance-up tuning parts, the other is diverse vehicle dynamics system for the performance-up tuning parts. To check the validation of the Car-Vatar platform, the comparison between virtual simulation results and driving test results has been discussed on various driving environments.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the impact of the 3S-Smart, Simple & Speed Business Intelligence Systems(3S-BIS) program on various aspects including simulation design assessment, simulation education assessment, satisfaction among education participants, academic self-efficacy, entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial competency for nurses. Method: This research was a non-equivalent control trial design study using two groups. 23 participants in experimental group, and 22 in the control group. Data were collected three intervals: before program, immediately after the program, four weeks later. Results: The experimental group showed significantly higher values across parameters, including simulation design assessment, simulation education assessment, satisfaction among education participants, academic self-efficacy, entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial competency. Conclusion: The 3S-BIS program has shown a positive impact on improving nursing start-up competency. Applying 3S-BIS can be effectively used across all ranges of nurses and is recommended.

  • Two-dimensional drawings are widely used as a communication tool in the construction industry, but they are still hard to be understood by engineers with less experience. A four dimensional CAD drawing is presented based on marker-based augmented reality, for visual assistance, detailed information, and prevention of misunderstanding among users. The developed drawing enables the users to easily understand its contents through the functions augmenting components, providing detailed construction information, and simulating construction process, using the marker in a 2D drawing. A questionnaire-based survey validates the capability of the developed drawing that it improves inexperienced engineers' understanding of the drawings.

  • In order to solve the problems such as overload, single point of failure, non-optimized data path, and network scalability in conventional central mobility management protocols, distributed mobility management schemes have been continually studied in and around the IETF. In this paper, a network-based partially-distributed mobility management mechanism, pDMMv6, is suggested and the performance comparison with traditional protocols such as PMIPv6 and MIPv6 is made through simulation under the various user traffic environment. The simulation results include UDP packet delivery ratio, end-to-end packet delay, binding delay for registration signaling, CPU utilization in each node, and response delays in several server-client TCP applications such as web browsing, e-mail, telnet remote login, FTP file up/down-load, and database access.

  • With the development of next IT convergence technology and the construction of infrastructure for personalized healthcare services, the importance of services based on user's preference is being spotlighted. Healthcare service have been progressed as treatment and management for specific diseases and dietary nutrition managements to customers according to the increase in chronic patients. In this paper, we proposed the personalized dietary nutrition contents recommendation using the hybrid filtering for managing health. The proposed method uses the hybrid filtering through combining the collaborative filtering and the image filtering in order to reinforce the special trend that recommendation provides similar contents. We developed the Web application for this purpose, and experimented with it to verify the logical validity and effectiveness. Accordingly, the satisfaction and the quality of services will be improved the healthcare by recommending the dietary nutrition contents. This evaluation found that the difference of satisfaction by service was statistically meaningful and showed high satisfaction.

  • Recently, the advent of World-Wide-Web(WWW) and the explosive popularity of the Internet gave birth to collaborative applications which were enabled by computers and networks as their primary media. The progress of 3D computer graphics enabled collaborative application with 3D virtual environments or distributed virtual environments. In this paper, we explain our implementation of the Share collaboration engine which is for collaboration applications based on a distributed virtual environment. We introduce Virtual Architectural Engineering 2000 (VAE2000) that is our pilot application implemented with the Share collaboration engine. The Share collaboration engine proposes a new Share network architecture for management of participants, and it provides some synchronization methods for 3D objects in virtual collaboration. VAE2000 is an experimental application that tries to prevent wastes of human, material and time resources in networked virtual collaboration.

  • Recent, the number of consumers using home shopping are in increase. So, there have been a lot of effort to provide services that meet the consumer's eye level in each store. In particular, apparel stores have been conducted the research for virtual fitting room based on augmented reality technology that consumers can simulate in real time costumes that meet the tastes of consumers in online and offline market. In addition, some services has already progress. The general virtual fitting room simulator built the user interface based on OpenCV, augmented reality API, Kinect, and so on. But, it has the disadvantage that the equipment is expensive. In this paper, we have developed a 3D virtual fitting room simulator based on augmented reality technology using OpenCV and libsigc$^{++}$. This simulator can simulate easily in general home without any special equipment. This simulator is expected to be available very efficient in online and offline market as well as home shopping.
