  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between online apparel impulse buying behavior and apparel website characteristics. The data were collected using an online survey with a structured questionnaire. To recruit participants, online surveys were collected and a total of 236 college students were used in the study. The results of factor analysis showed that website characteristics consisted of two factors (i.e., promotion, product/policy information). The results of MANOVA and multiple regression showed that the impulse purchase group evaluated the website where they bought the last apparel item significantly better in promotion and product/policy information than the non-impulse purchase group. Based on the results, H1, H2, and H3 were supported. The evaluations of the characteristics of websites where impulse purchases and non-impulse purchases of apparel products were made were significantly different.

The contribution of this paper is as follows. Firstly, it reveals the actual B2B website evaluation as well as evaluation by product types such as physical and service product. Secondly, it reviews the B2B e-Commerce that will play a key role in the near future.

For this study, previous studies were investigated and experts' discussions were held. In result, six characters of usability were chosen such as content satisfaction. customer attraction satisfaction, price information satisfaction, public security satisfaction, user interface satisfaction. and process of transaction satisfaction that affect usability of shopping mall websites and the evaluation models of 72 detailed measure factors were established. Since these 72 sub-factors inc)ode the key words of HTML, XML, JSP, and ASP from the target websites. 33 measurable sub-factors in the information were measured through usability evaluation experiment. In addition, a questionnaire about usability measure factors was executed after preferable websites and not preferable websites are selected. After that, we verified the reasonability of usability measure model factors comparing the results of the evaluation experiment with the result of the questionnaire. The time it takes to measure the usability of shopping mall websites can be reduced by using this measurement supporting tool. Also, this tool may be used to estimate the usability during the development of a shopping mall website.

  • The purpose of the present study is to examine how visitors of personal web sites evaluate self presentation styles. We hypothesized that visitors' gender, self construals, and self esteem would influence the evaluation (likeability and perceived competence) of the self presentation styles (bragging or positive presentation). The hypothesized models were tested with structural equation modeling. Gender differences among the constructs were also examined through latent mean analysis. The results revealed that females tended to have higher interdependent self construal than males. And the male and the female students showed higher likeability toward the self presentations of the other gender. Regarding perceived competence, women and men perceived the other gender more competent, and especially, women perceived men's bragging presentation more competent. Self construals and self esteem, however, did not show any significant effects, which were inconsistent with the results of the previous studies conducted with offline self presentation styles. One of the main implications of this study is that visitors' gender, among other things, is the most infueltial factor in perceiving and evaluating others' self presentation through personal web sites.

  • This paper presents an analysis of how the business models of organizations are getting transformed in the Marketspace created by the Internet. We use a research model comprising the transformation scores of four Ps(Product, Price, Promotion, and Place) as dependent variables and three dimensions, Demographics, Technology, and Community elements on the Websites, as explaining variables about the Cyber Transformation of the 4Ps. While most existing literatures have focused on Website's technology, our research model includes 22 five-point-scale items; 10 Demographics /Technology items and 12 Community items. To measure the 4P's transformation scores, the authors selected 14 workable items from the Marketspace Model by Dutta, Kwan, & Segev(1997). A sample of 123 shopping mall Websites comprising three categories(grocery, jewelry/accessory, and cosmetics) from the 100hot.co.kr list are evaluated and the data is analyzed by SPSSWIN 8.0 version. The result shows that there are five significant factors, Technology, Interaction, Connectedness, Business Features, and Domain, while the average transformation scores of 4Ps are at very low level. The factor scores are used in regression analysis for each P. Two factors, Technology and Interaction are influencing all four Ps; Connectedness is influencing only two, Product and Place. Organizations must not simply take their existing business models. They have to adopt the Technology items(navigation, logo, e-mail, guide, graphics) and to facilitate the Interaction items(consulting, number/quality of bulletin boards, participation, offline events) and Connectedness(club activation, contents, partner/site link, entertainment contents) in order to get transformed in the Marketspace successfully in the near future.

  • Recently, as user demand to receive various information through one integrated institution has increased, "Larchiveum," which integrates the functions and services of archives, libraries, and museums, has been established. Thus, web information services are provided in an integrated manner through the Larchiveum website. This study attempted to analyze the information services on the Larchiveum website in detail. To this end, the researchers developed a web information service evaluation index reflecting the characteristics of Larchiveum that are differentiated from information services offered by websites of general archives, libraries, and museums. Recognizing the importance of evaluation indicators, the researchers developed evaluation indicators, and an evaluation of the three institutions' websites was conducted. The assessment showed that the currently operating Larchiveum website provides ample basic business introduction and interface navigation, but the use of search results in the information search area was insufficient. Complementary points were presented in these areas, and measures that would be effective if additionally operated were also suggested. This research sought to provide practical assistance in configuring and providing web services for the newly established Larchiveum in hopes that the evaluation indicators used in this study will be applied, supplemented, and utilized well in the future.
