An online learning system for evaluating learner's activities and study level (수준별 학습과 학습 관심도를 고려한 학습평가시스템)

  • The biggest strength of the Internet is to enable to access information without any limitation of time and space. As the Internet and IT technologies have been developed, various kinds of teaching ways in education field such as remote lectures, video lectures, and CAI(Computer Adapted Instruction) have emerged. In terms of education, evaluation can be a basic foundation to help teach students in the next learning stage according to each student's level. In addition, it is able to give the information of students'abilities and provides proper learning programs to teach students on a case-by-case basis. The purpose of the paper is to establish evaluation system on the WWW(World Wide Web) that can reflect learning activities part of students in their evaluation scores based on the two important learning theories, Behaviorism and constructivism, which are mainly used in evaluation procedures to judge learning ability of students. This system will give information about learners, and analyze the learning interest of learners. The proposed system enables teachers to evaluate learning ability of students through various kinds of information of learners, and to execute level-based education.

  • Distance education, which emerged under the influence of both the rapid development of hi-tech information technology and the constructivism theory of learning, enables learners to acquire knowledge and skills needed by monitoring their learning process for themselves. Emphasis on web-based distance education and contructivism as a basis of learner-centered education does not mean that those education systems are performed without teachers or in noninterference. This study proposes a model of distance education system in which learners are taught in various levels of learning with the help of teacher agents. In the model teacher agents produce the learners' respective learning model considering the information on individual learners and also control the progress to the next step of learning with the result of the evaluation of learning accomplishment. The model of distance education system suggested in this study is able to help solve the problem that the learning resources web-based distance education provides were used only as objects of web search and to supply a basis of realizing learner-centered education.

  • Establishing problem-based leaning(PBL) that is one type of constitutional learning models is meaningful not only for finding the diversity of WBI types but also for being the specific example of constitutional usage of WBI. This paper shows the development of web-based and problem-based learning program for 6th grade students of elementary school and finds its effect on their studies achievement. There were two classes of traditional lessons and one class of web-based and problem-based lessons. It performed a test with the classes for science lesson. It was found that web-based and problem-based learning is more effective on the improvement of studies achievement. There was meaningful difference in studies achievement according to ICT utilization ability. Web-based and problem-based learning statistically had a meaningful effect on the improvement of ICT utilization ability.

  • 오늘날과 같이 급변하는 사회 속에서 개인 혼자서 모든 일을 처리하기보다는 여러 사람과 함께 열린 사고로 일을 처리하는 것이 훨씬 효율적이다. 학습에서도 마찬가지로 협동학습은 지식뿐만 아니라 인성적인 면에도 영향을 끼치게 된다. 본 논문에서는 구성주의에 입각한 웹기반 협동학습 시스템을 설계 및 구현하여 실제 학습 수업에서 활용한다. 이 시스템에서는 학습내용을 구성하는 부분과 이를 이용하여 학습을 수행하는 부분들이 교수자간 및 학습자간에 협동을 한다. 이는 고차원적인 사고를 요구하는 문제해결학습을 통해 학습자 개개인의 능력을 최대한 개발할 수 있고, 학습 성취감을 증가시킬 수 있다. 또한 그동안 부족했던 웹상에서의 상호작용적인 측면을 강화하여 면대면 교육과 같은 즉각적인 효과도 얻을 수 있다.

  • The purpose of this study is to design and implement the web-based counselling system in aspects of learning type and method by PBL in Constructivism. Learning problem is classified into learning difficulty, learning disability, emotional disability, memory/cognition, ADHD(attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), classwork, and school circumstance. Counselling for individual, offline visit, parents, electronic mail, and group with professionals who were involved in the design and implementation of learning counselling were used to supplement the clinic process for learning. The result of this study aims to administer the distance counselling system for learning without prominent computer knowledge. Each learner can solve diverse private learning problems which can be widely applied for situated learning. Also these online strategies by PBL indicate that providing learning types and methods are critical for overall understanding in online counselling system for learning.

  • Web-based instructional system gives us the greatest potential for supporting face-to-face classroom instruction in many ways. With the help of the Web in high school setting, all of the participants including teachers can share many different experiences, active interactions, and even learning outcomes. In this paper, web-based instructional strategy based on constructivism for extending the geographical thought is suggested. The results from the formative assessment, as well as the statistical results from regression analysis concerning the learners' satisfaction, are also provided.

  • 웹 코스웨어의 대부분은 2 차원적인 텍스트와 이미지를 이용한 것으로 설계되어 있으나 3 차원의 입체개념 형성이 필요한 입체도형 학습에서는 효과적인 학습이 되기 어렵다. 본 논문은 WWW에서 3차원 가상현실을 적용하여 구현한 웹 코스웨어로 중학생을 위한 입체도형 학습을 주제로 하였다. 2 차원 평면공간에서는 설명하기 어려운 입체도형의 성질을 3 차원의 가상현실의 공간에서 학습자 스스로 다양한 경험을 통해 이를 이해하고 학습의 개별화 요구를 충족시키는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 학습자가 주도적으로 학습을 조작, 진행해 나갈 수 있는 구성주의 학습이론을 기반으로 웹에서 3 차원 가상공간을 제공하는 스크립트 언어인 VRML2.0 을 이용하여 모델링하여 동적인 학습과 상호작용성을 높일 수 있도록 구현하였다.

  • 통계학의 여러 개념들을 효과적으로 가르치기 위한 다양한 연구들이 진행되고 적용되고 있다. 그러나 기초통계학 교육에서 교수자와 학습자 모두 교수와 학습의 어려움을 끊임없이 제기하고 있다. 또한 기존의 교수학습 방법들을 현실에 적용하기에는 시간과 교구재 등 여러 가지 어려움이 있어서 실제 적용되지 못하고 있는 것이 현실이다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 연구들에서 주장하고 입증된 교수학습 방법들을 교실 현장에서 쉽게 적용할 수 있도록 하는 통계 교수학습 모형을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 문제위주 학습과 협동학습 등을 통해 학습자의 참여를 높여 학습효과를 증대할 수 있는 구성 주의적 학습활동을 네트워크와 웹을 기반으로 수행하는 교수학습 모형을 제안한다

  • Speaking skill is an important quality in expressing oneself in school life. Quite a few students experience difficulties at school because of the lack of adequate speaking ability. In order to help them, a Web-based speaking enhancement system is designed and developed using computers equipped with multimedia devices with which students can practice speaking while they are observing graphical representation of voices, which is to cause interest and voluntary participation in the learning activity. The learning system was tested on a group of 44 students of 4th grade in an elementary school. The students were divided into three smaller groups in terms of speaking ability. The experiment shows the effectiveness of the system in building speaking ability.

  • Through WWW, one of Internet services, network infrastructure is grown explosively and web-based technologies have been developed tremendously. That technologies have had a potent influence on wide-area of society, so did educational area. Meanwhile, discussion is emphasized at school education because of its great advantages at a constructivist perspective and the part of performance assessment. But, there are many differences between web-based discuss-learning instruction and face to face discussion, because the former is based on interaction through the media especially networks. Consequently, in this paper, we look into about the consideration factors of the web-based discuss-learning instruction, and also study about the support system development factors and methods.
