Construction of Medical Episode Data using National Health Insurance Service Data (국민건강보험청구 자료를 이용한 진료에피소드 자료 구축)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of National Health Insurance claim data and to construct a pilot medical episode data considering it. In this study, the trends of respiratory disease (ICD10: J00-J99) cardiovascular disease (ICD10: I00-I99) from the day of onset of treatment to re-admission after admission were confirmed in Seoul, and the largest decrease was observed when the no-treatment period was 0 day. The data reduction rate when the no-treatment period is 0 day is judged to be due to the monthly separation claim of the health insurance claim data. Also, the result that there is a tendency of monthly separation request according to the type of medical treatment. Through this study, we constructed epidemic data for the pilot medical treatment considering the characteristics of the claim data of health insurance, and based on this, it can be used as a data processing method for calculating basic epidemiological information.

Comparison of Growth Characteristics, Forage Production and Feed Values of Bermudagrass, Teffgrass and Kleingrass as Annual Forage Crop in Summer (여름철 버뮤다그라스, 클라인그라스 및 테프그라스의 생육특성, 생산성 및 사료가치 비교)

  • This study was conducted from 2013 to 2014 to explore the feasibility of the cultivation of warm-season grass as an annual Korean forage crop, while concurrently evaluating the characteristics and forage production of warm-season grass in Korea. The experimental design was a randomized block design (RBD) with three replications. Five bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers.] cultivars, two teffgrass (Paspalum notatum Flugge) cultivars, and a Kleingrass [Panicum coloratum L.] cultivar were compared for forage production and quality in the middle region of Korea. After seeding, the numbers of days until seedling emergence for bermudagrass and kleingrass were observed at approximately day 11 and day 12, respectively. The heading dates of teffgrass and kleingrass were on July 12 and July 26, respectively. The dry matter (DM) yield of bermudagrass Tifton 85 was usually greater than the other entries. The crude protein content (CPC) and total digestibility nutrient (TDN) for the teffgrass cultivars were usually greater than the other entries at all study sites. The acid detergent fiber (ADF) and in vitro DM digestibility (IVDMD) were similar across all cultivars.

Studies on Growth, Forage Yield, and Nutritive Value according to Different Seeding Dates of Barnyard Millet (파종기에 따른 사료용 피의 생육, 수량 및 사료가치에 관한 연구)

  • These experiments are being conducted to obtain data of plant height, panicle length, heading date, number of culm, and fresh and dry weight, crude protein, acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), total digestible nutrients (TDN) by six times seeding of 10 days interval ranging from May 1st to June 21st for two types of barnyard millet from the Suwon area in Korea. In the early-heading type, IT 170609 (Echinochloa crus-galli), the plant height and the number of culm per square meters are decreased by late seeding relatively, and heading date is 7 to 10 days earlier than the late seeding. And the dry weight of forage is rapidly decreased after the June 11th seeding. In the late-heading type, IT 195422 (Echinochloa frumentacea), the plant height and the number of culm per square meters are also decreased by late seeding relatively, and heading date is about 13 days earlier than late seeding. The dry weight of forage was rapidly decreased after the June 11th seeding. In both two types, the nutritive value of ADF, NDF, and TDN are not changed by late seeding, but crude protein is increased by late seeding. The TDN yields of late-heading type, IT 195400, show average amounts in the June 1st seeding, but the TDN yield of early-heading type, IT 170606, indicate safety amounts of dry weight to the March 21st seeding. And these data are available for cropping systems, cultivating barnyard millet in summer and cereals for forage in winter, to get high production of forage in Korea.

Forage Quality and Production of Phragmites communis as a Native Grass According to Growth Stages (부존 조사료자원 갈대의 생육시기별 사료가치 및 생산량)

  • This study was carried out to determine the forage quality, production, and regrowth of Phragmites communis as a native grass according to growth stages. Experiment 1 was conducted in Ansan from May 2009 to April 2010 (7 stages), and experiment 2 was conducted in Cheonan from May to November 2011 (10 stages). In experiment 1, forage quality decreased rapidly with advance of growth from May. When harvested on late May, July, September and April of the following year, the contents of crude protein were 7.7%, 4.6%, 3.7%, and 2.2%, respectively. Relative feed value (RFV) were 80.2, 65.1, 61.8 and 52.8, and lignin contents were 7.1%, 9.9%, 12.0%, and 13.2%, respectively. In experiment 2, significantly higher forage yields were observed when harvested from late June to mid July. On the other hand, forage quality decreased with delayed harvest as was in experiment 1. Good regrowth of Phragmites communis was observed when harvested earlier than in August. When harvested on late May, June, July, August, September, October and November, the dry matter (DM) yields were 7,329 kg/ha, 12,527 kg, 9,593 kg, 8,279 kg, 7,649 kg, 5,822 kg and 5,540 kg, and in vitro digestible DM (IVDDM) yields were 3,924 kg/ha, 5,264 kg, 4,273 kg, 3,322 kg, 3,352 kg, 2,195 kg and 1,887 kg, respectively. Forage quality grades of Phragmites communis were 4th grade in May, 5th grade from June to Sept., and 6th grade in Oct., Nov., or in Apr. of the following year. However, all regrown Phragmites communis ranked the 4th in quality. In conclusion, we recommend that Phragmites communis should be harvested from late June to mid July (no later than the end of July) to obtain good forage quality with digestible nutrient contents greater than rice straw. Regrowth of Phragmites communis was poor, and more than 70% of annual forage yields were out of the first harvest. Therefore, we recommend only one harvesting per year for good regrowth and stable production of Phragmites communis.

Importance-Performance and Willingness to Purchase Analyses of Home Meal Replacement Using Eco-Friendly Food Ingredients in Undergraduates according to Gender (성별에 따른 대학생들의 친환경 식재료를 활용한 간편 가정식 구매의향 및 중요도-만족도 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to survey intention to purchase home meal replacement (HMR) made with eco-friendly food ingredients as well as need for development while analyzing importance and performance of HMR made with eco-friendly ingredients for its commercialization. From September 2014 to March 2015, questionnaires were filled out by respondents. Of the 422 questionnaires that were returned, 412 were used with 10 discarded as incomplete. Regarding reasons behind purchasing HMR, the highest percentages of both males and females answered 'ready to eat'. Almost all respondents spent 'less than 10,000 won' each time they purchased HMR. Regarding place they bought HMR, a higher percentage of respondents answered 'convenience store' and 'discount retail chain store'. In terms of improvements needed for HMR, the highest percentage of males answered 'development of a variety of menus' while the highest percentage of females answered 'change in food ingredients' at 37.7%. For development of HMR made with eco-friendly ingredients, most respondents replied that there is a need for development. Regarding intention for purchasing HMR made with eco-friendly ingredients, 66.7% of males and 73.5% of females answered they have intention to buy. Important performance analysis showed a need to improve performance of 'safety of food ingredients', which was located close to the second quadrant. To improve performance for 'safety of food ingredients', safety must be ensured through use of eco-friendly ingredients, and a systematic process for managing hazardous materials that could arise during the manufacturing process has to be developed.

Studies on the Optimum Dietary Energy and Protein Levels in Laying Hen (산란계사료의 적정에너지 및 단백질수준에 관한 연구)

  • A total of 1,440 White Leghorn pullets hatched in summer and winter, aged 20 to 72 weeks were fed 9 rations differing in dietary protein (13, 15 and 17%) and energy (2,500, 2,700 and 2,900 kcal/kg) levels for a period of 52 weeks in order to evaluate the optimum dietary energy and protein levels for laying hens. As metabolizable energy level increased from 2,500 to 2,900 kcal/kg of feed egg production, daily feed and protein intake and egg shell quality decreased, but reverse was true for the daily energy intake, energy requirement and feed cost per kg egg, body weight gain, nutrients utilizability and abdominal fat accumulation, Egg weight, viability and egg yolk Pigmentation were not affected by the dietary energy level. On the other hand, as dietary protein level increased from 13 to 17%, egg production, egg weight, daily protein intake, protein requirement per kg egg and body weight gain icreased, but daily feed and energy intake, feed and energy requirement per kg egg, egg yolk pigmentation and dry matter utilizability decreased, and no significant difference in the feed cost per kg egg, viability and egg shell quality was observed among dietary protein levels. However: the hens fed 15% and 17% Protein diets did not show significant differences in egg production, egg weight and body weight gain. For the entire laying period of 52 weeks, metabolizable energy level of 2,500 kcal/kg of feed and 15% dietary protein level were considered to be adequate to support the optimum productivity.

  • This paper proposes analyzing monthly rainfall patterns using copula and pricing related rainfall insurance using it. We analyze 30-year monthly precipitation data for 9 Korean cities between June and September using copula showing so that it can effectively generate realistic monthly rainfall patterns. In addition, we show that our copula rainfall models can be used in pricing various kinds of rainfall insurances effectively.

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 주요 종관기상관측장비(Automated Surface Observing System; ASOS)의 강수 자료에 CSEOF 분석(Cyclo-stationary Empirical Orthogonal Function Analysis)을 적용하여 주요 성분(principle component)을 추출한 후 이를 분석하여 국내 강수의 계절적 순환 특성을 평가고자 하였다. ASOS 자료로는 전국 131개의 ASOS 중에 40년 이상의 월 강수량 자료가 구축되어 있는 47개 지점의 자료를 이용하였다. 수집한 자료의 기간은 1978년부터 2018년까지이다. 강수 자료의 월별 공간적인 강수 분포 특성을 파악하기 위해 시간적인 순환성을 고려한 CSEOF 분석을 수행하였다. 강수자료의 주성분을 추출해본 결과, CSEOF 분석의 경우 첫 번째 CSEOF 외의 다른 CSEOF들의 원자료 설명 비율 또한 작지 않게 나타나 다양한 강수 변동 특성을 평가할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 8월의 2nd CSEOF는 한반도 전체의 강수가 감소하는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 라니냐가 7-8월 한반도 강수에 미치는 영향과 유사하다. 아울러 9월의 2nd CSEOF 결과 또한 남부를 중심으로 전체적으로 감소하는 경향이 나타남. 이는 엘리뇨 발생 시 9월의 강수 패턴과 비슷한 것으로 확인되었다. 뿐만 아니라, 우리나라에 영향을 미친 주요 태풍과 CSEOF의 상관관계도 검증할 수 있었으며, 장마와의 관계도 발견할 수 있었다. 향후, CSEOF 분석 결과에 해석방법이 개발된다면, 보다 다각적인 측면에서의 강수 계절적 순환 특성 평가가 이루어 질 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Purchasing Status and Supplier Performance Evaluation of School Foodservice in Chanwon, Korea (창원시 학교급식 식재료 구매 실태 및 공급업체 수행도 평가)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the purchasing status and to compare supplier performance evaluations between competitive bidding and negotiated contracts in school foodservice in Changwon, Korea. A total of 190 questionnaires were distributed and 167 (return rate 87.9%) were collected from June 29 to September 28, 2010, and then a total of 151 (analysis rate 79.5%) were used for the final analysis. First, 91.4% of food product purchases for school meals were contracted through competitive bidding, especially limited competitive bidding. It mainly consisted of agricultural products, processed food, and eco-friendly agricultural products (fruit). Second, 78.8% of schools purchased food products by negotiated contracts, while single negotiation accounted for 59.7%. Food products by negotiated contract consisted of meat, kimchi, and fish. Third, the purchase status of competitive bidding and negotiated contracts showed a significant difference in agricultural products (p<0.001), fish (p<0.001), meats (p<0.001), poultry (p<0.001), antibiotic-free poultry (p<0.001), eco-friendly grain (p<0.001), eco-friendly agricultural products (fruit) (p<0.001), eco-friendly processed food (p<0.001), processed products (p<0.001), milk (p<0.001) and general grain (p<0.001) except for kimchi. Fourth, comparative analysis of supplier performance evaluation (on a 5-point Likert scale) of school foodservice showed that price of product of competitive bidding (3.73) was significantly higher than that of negotiated contract (2.95) (p<0.001), and the overall performance level of the negotiated contract (3.85) was significantly higher than that of competitive bidding (3.61) (p<0.01). The supplier performance evaluation levels of product packaging (p<0.01), product quality at the time of delivery (p<0.001), hygiene of products (p<0.001), consistency to specification (p<0.001), swiftness of return and exchange (p<0.001), emergency delivery (p<0.001), service of delivery staff (p<0.05), and handling of complaints (p<0.001) of negotiated contracts were significantly higher than those of competitive bidding of school foodservice. In conclusion, school foodservice selected food suppliers both by adopting competitive bidding and negotiated contracts. And there was a significant difference of school foodservice supplier performance between competitive bidding and negotiated contracts in Changwon, Korea.
