  • It has become a crucial issue for IT service firms how to form positive relationships with their customers in order to retain existing customers and potential customers. To address this issue, many researchers have introduced the concept of consumer relationship proneness(CRP). This present study examines if CRP is related to trust and commitment that enhance the intention to reuse. Using PLS, we analyzed 200 data collected through a survey of global electronic company members experienced IT outsourcing services. As a result, CRP has a defined impact on both trust and commitment, and relationships between trust and commitment, commitment and reuse intention have a positive effect. On the other hand, trust does not affect reuse intention. Based on these results, it presents a discussion for future research and the implications for CRP.

  • The purpose of this study was to find and to apply an effective intervention method to deal with the aggressive behaviors of Junseo, who is in a classroom for two-year olds. First, we collected the data about the aggressive behaviors by ABC event sampling, journal, recording the frequency of behaviors and the interview with the parents. Second, we drew an inference to the reason for his behaviors and tried to find an appropriate method to deal with them with colleagues and the professor. A time-out was applied to Junseo's aggressive behaviors and alternately, his parents were asked to applause him frequently on appropriate behaviors at home. The aggressive behaviors became better gradually while the intervention method was monitored and assessed for feedback. As a result, the approach procedure, which was used in this study, was suggested to deal with the aggressive behaviors of young children. And supporting the system for operating this procedure was further discussed.

  • This paper proposes a new vector quantization scheme which exploits high correlations among indexes in vector quantization. An optimal vector quantizer in the rate-distortion sense can be obtained, if it is designed so that the average distortion can be minimized under the constraint of the conditional entropy of indes, which is usually much smaller than the entropy of index due to the high correlations among indexes of neighboring vectors. The oprimization process is very similar to that in ECVQ(entropy-constrained vector quanization) except that in the proposed scheme the Viterbi algorithm is introduced to find the optimal index sequence. Simulations show that at the same bitrate the proposed method provides higher PSNR by 1.0~3.0 dB than the conventional ECVQ when applied to image coding.

  • Traditionally, information systems audit has been carried out by the auditors. So the main focuses of audit are managerial point of view, such as finding errors or missing functions. The final purpose of audit, however, is to help the organization to make better decision through better information services. So we felt that managerial point of audit should be extended to include the factors that increase the competitiveness of organization. To accomplish this goal, new factors that reflect the ideas of three groups, users, developers in addition to auditors. First, by adopting the ideas from service quality evaluation area, we develop six items and 24 indexes for information systems audit. Second, we separate the audit related parties into three groups, users, developers and auditors. The main reason is that major concerns of three groups to the system will be different considerably. Third, we quantified the weights of each group to each 6 items and 24 indexes using Analytic Hierarchy Process. Fourth, the resulting weights of each item are found to be different by the group, and possible reasons are analyzed.

  • This study aims at investigating ways to enhance the efficiency of knowledge management systems in research institutes. This study analyzes the current state of knowledge management systems, changes in users' perception, and the use of knowledge management systems in Daedeok Science Park, and suggests improvement measures. This study reviews previous studies and employs a survey for case studies. This study also conducts log data analysis of knowledge management systems to investigate the current state of system use. The questionnaire asks about the interest in knowledge management, evaluation and rewards of knowledge contribution, quality of knowledge, and the level of utility. This study tests hypothesis and analyzes the frequencies. This study finds that the interest and use of knowledge management system have been remarkably dropped, and also reveals that maintaining reward systems and diverse rewarding systems are required.

  • Many researchers worldwide have been making a lot of effort to find sustainable clean energy source to replace the current fossil fuels. However, solar energy is considered as the ultimate energy solution to supply the world total power consumption. Light can be used for lighting, heating, wired and wireless communications, etc. Moreover, even light-driven motors which can directly convert optical energy into kinetic energy are studied recently. In this paper, we analyze optical energy delivery through multi-core optical fibers. Our estimation shows that an optical power of 2 kW can be transmitted through a multi-core fiber and an optical power of >10 MW can be transmitted through a bundle of optical fibers with a diameter of several centimeters. It seems competitive compared with the electric power delivery through a copper cable.

  • To find an optimal solution with genetic algorithm, it is desirable to maintain the population sire as large as possible. In some cases, however, the cost to evaluate each individual is relatively high and it is difficult to maintain large population. To solve this problem we propose a novel genetic algorithm based on fuzzy clustering, which considerably reduces evaluation number without any significant loss of its performance by evaluating only one representative for each cluster. The fitness values of other individuals are estimated from the representative fitness values indirectly. We have used fuzzy c-means algorithm and distributed the fitness using membership matrix, since it is hard to distribute precise fitness values by hard clustering method to individuals which belong to multiple groups. Nine benchmark functions have been investigated and the results are compared to six hard clustering algorithms with Euclidean distance and Pearson correlation coefficients as fitness distribution method.

  • Recently, smart TVs have widely spread in our daily lives. However, it is difficult for users to find proper TV contents among a lot of TV and application contents because of inconvenience of input devices compared with those of smart phones or smart pads, so there are some problems with very low utilization of the smart functionalities of smart TVs. We suggest a personalized contents recommender system on smart TVs to resolve these problems and help for users to search appropriate contents easily and quickly in this research. We design and implement an intelligent system for personalized contents recommendation on the smart TVs based on multi-dimensional analysis considering user profiles and preferences, watching patterns of TV programs, and TV contents use statistics of TV users.

  • The purpose of the study is to explore and understand the product development through the theory of evolution. For the purpose of the study, an evolution mechanism was set up in which the products were applied with. The results showed three distinguishable types of product evolution 'the evolution of functions','the evolution of forms'and 'the evolution of symbols what the products represent'. In order to answer the research questions, , , , the research was carried out in three ways: firstly, some ideas of product evolution were looked closely through existing researches; secondly, the study explored the idea of evolution mechanism being a natural process like an organic system; finally by applying various products with the evolution mechanism, different patterns of product evolution were classified. The results of the study can be summarised as follows: ${\bullet}$ The evolution mechanism in this study can be defined as an 'organic system'that consists of the causes of evolution'(based on the needs and the willingness to have pleasure), 'the point of evolving'(based on a degree of imperfection) and 'the motive of evolution'(based on the readiness to make profit). ${\bullet}$ The evolution mechanism seems to suggest three different patterns in product evolution,'the evolution of functions', 'the evolution of forms' and 'the evolution of symbols'

  • A very destructive lily disease was occurred at Daekwallyong alpine areas in 1999. We have performed experiments to identify the causal pathogen of lily disease and to find a way to control the disease chemically. Twelve fungal isolates from the infected lily were identified as Phytophthora cactorum. Mycelial growth of all isolates were completely inhibited on potato dextrose agar with $10{\mu}g/mL$ metalaxyl. Among 11 fungicides tested, $10{\mu}g/mL$ of dimethomorph, ethaboxam, and oxadixyl inhibited mycelial growth of P. cactorum. PC-1. Therefore, spray of phenylamide fungicides such as metalaxyl and other commercial fungicides should be a effective way to control the Phytophthora blight of lily.
