A Deflationary Understanding of Radical Interpretation (원초적 해석의 축소주의적 이해)

  • Michael Williams, in his paper, rejects the wide-accepted view that Donald Davidson's radical interpretation is a truth conditional account of meaning, and suggests a claim that robust truth in fact does not play any role in Davidson's interpretation and thus interpretation can be in accord with the deflationary theory of truth. In this paper, I will first research the right understanding on the explanatory relations in radical interpretation between truth and meaning, and on that ground, will evaluate the adequacy of Williams' suggestion. My diagnosis is that the acceptability of Williams' idea depends on how we regard the several factors which are crucial for interpretation. Especially I will argue that whether truth condition is regarded as deflationary or inflationary makes difference to the way of understanding radical interpretation, hence the room for taking radical interpretation as deflationary can be in two different ways. Furthermore I will show the same argument can be applied to Williams' another claim that Paul Horwich's use theory of meaning is similar to Davidson's account.

A Study on 'Language-Letter' images and politics of 'écriture' in Kim, Soo-Yung's poems (김수영 시의 '언어-문자' 이미지와 '에크리튀르'의 정치학)

  • This paper examines ${\acute{e}}pist{\acute{e}}m{\grave{e}}$ of ${\acute{e}}criture$ and its politics in Kim, Soo-Yung's poems, focusing on 'language-letter' images such as "speech", "language", "printing type", "letter", "brush", "book" and so on. While the previous papers fail to present the overall framework of analysis on 'language-${\acute{e}}criture$' images and to show political dimensions of discourse analysis, this paper tries to overcome these limitations. It explains images of 'speech' and 'language' on the basis of Heidegger's ontological thought, and analyzes writing-images such as 'type', 'letters' using Derrida's concepts of 'archi-${\acute{e}}criture$' and '${\acute{e}}criture$'. It also gives a new name to multiple images of 'book' in his poems as 'politics of ${\acute{e}}criture$' based on problematic such as Badiou's 'ethics of truths' and Derrida's '${\acute{e}}criture$'.

Studies on Shamanistic Symbols in Kim Ki-Duk's Film (김기덕 영화에 나타나는 무속적 상징에 관한 연구)

  • This Studies interpret Kim Ki-duk's film in terms of shamanistic world views. In this studies, the ritual properties of Kim Ki-duk's film were trying to reveal. To do this, Kim Ki-duk's entire 14 works were analysed. Specifically, shamanistic characters, their actions, themes, ways of storytelling, mis-en-scenes, and visual settings were focused on. The results show, fantastic and ritual properties were represented directly and the very archetypes of Korean cultural shamanistic symbols were embedded in his films. Shamanistic symbols and narratives in Kim Ki-duk's films were related to the main themes of harmony between suppressing men and suffered women. This symbols and narratives could be interpreted through the sacrifices of characters, exorcistic behaviors, expressions of death etc. In the long run, as visionary or anti-realistic author, Kim Ki-duk has been performing shamanistic ceremonies(in Korean "Gut") with his whole works. With these findings, processes from preparations to completions of Gut-Pan (Shamanistic ceremony) in Kim Ki-Duk's works were tried to reconstruct.

  • 수재해는 수자원 인프라의 부족 및 관리 미흡 등 많은 요인들이 있지만 강우의 유무와 크기가 가장 원초적인 요인들 중 하나이다. 정확한 강우량 추정 및 강우발생시간 예측은 수재해로 인한 피해를 예방하고 빠르게 대처할 수 있다. 그러나 강우예측에는 많은 불확실성을 내포하고 있기 때문에 이러한 불확실성을 이해하고 줄여 나가는 것이 필요하다. 최근 컴퓨터의 성능의 발전에 비례해 강우 예측 자료들도 점진적으로 발전을 거듭하고 있다. 이를 강우-유출 모형에 적용시 유출량 예측의 정확성 또한 비례하여 한층 더 발전할 수 있을 것이다. 하지만 신뢰성이 낮은 입력자료를 대상으로 하는 유출해석 모형은 많은 불확실성을 내포할 것이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 위천 유역에 대해 LENS(Limited area ENsemble prediction System) 강우앙상블 예측자료의 적용성을 검토하고 그리드 기반 강우 유출 모델 GRM(Grid based Rainfall-runoff Model) 에 적용하여 유출예측의 불확실성을 평가하고자 하였다. 또한 강우예측 및 유출예측은 수 많은 매개변수를 포함하며 최종적인 예측은 더 큰 불확실한 범위로 산출될 수 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 Python3 기반 코딩으로 LENS 자료 구축 및 GRM 모형의 매개변수 보정을 각 2000회 씩에 걸쳐 총 2회 실시하여 수문학적, 지형학적 인자에 따른 불확실성 범위를 보정하고자 하였다. 매개변수의 보정은 비정형우도(Informal likelihood) NSE, 정형우도(Formal likelihood) Lognormal(Log-likelihood function)의 우도에 따른 행위모델을 산정하여 보정하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 선행연구들을 참고한 정형, 비정형 우도의 임계치를 이용한 불확실성해석에 적용하였으며 이는 사용자의 행위모델선정 임계치 범위 선정으로 인한 불확실성을 줄여나감에 기여할 수 있을것으로 사료된다.

  • The wide range of understanding on form, function and style are very important in design practice. Because any design can't be existed without form and function and, also, every design can be embodied by the style. From this point of view, the new interpretation and their relations on form, function and style are studied in this paper. First of all, 1-In Introduction, a few issues are suggested to the purpose and requirement with explaining the background of the paper. 2-Design Form; original form, hand-made form, standard form and expressive form are researched. 3-Design Function; original function. traditional function, absolute function and relative function are studied. 4-Design Style; survival style, folk style, simple style and fusion style are searched. Finally, 5-In Conclusion, the approach method is expressed on form, function and style, and their relations are discussed.

  • Maogusi dance is an ancient ritual dance of the Tujia, a Chinese ethnic minority living in the remote region of the western Hunan Province of China. With characters, dialogues, simple story plots and unique performance procedures, it expresses ancient people's devout worship of nature, totems, ancestors, and reproduction in the uncivilized age. With the advancement of human civilization and the opening to the outside world, many dances of the ethnic minority gradually have faded out, while the Maogusi dance is still popular among the Tujia people and its spiritual symbols have been passed on through the generations. It is recognized by experts in dance and drama circles as the original source of Chinese dance and drama. From the perspectives of philosophy, religion, anthropology and folklore, this paper tries to remove the mysterious veil covering the Maogusi dance of the Tujia to explain how its ancient spiritual symbols have survived and why the original ecological consciousness has been preserved. These aims would help in understanding the deep connotation of this ancient Chinese art with its long history and profound culture.

  • Landscape around a settlement is not only a natural object, but also a matters of the man in the co-relation with his environment. Man perceives the landscape rational or sensible. Then it changes into the substance for him and influences him: as we see often in the folklore, that is of importance in the mind. Man reacts against his surroundings deceidedly, selfassurd or commonly, and uses sometimes the landscape to the elements for realization, physical or symbolical. Out of one character of korean villages, adaption to the circumstances, we can notice also its inner image, the reflection of the mind. Seeing and perceiving the environment emotional or reasonable and, reflecting and descreibing the inner self on the space. Here, the landscape and the nature are matter of the man, a scale for his ethical estimation or a mailer of the realization his mind. It is difficult, but important, such a immanent picture in(or of) the landscape to find. This is a preliminary study in such a way.

  • The purpose of this study is to interpret the MCU's universal worldview from the perspective of geometry and to storytell narrative elements with mathematical imagination. For storytelling, data from the Phase 3 series aired from 2016 to 2019 was used. The Phase 3 series stimulates the imagination of the public with the sense of reality shown in the narrative and images based on geometrical theory and various predictions about future technology. Imagination is the driving force for diverse and original thinking about the unexperienced, and the ability to find order in chaos and create new perceptions of matter. The power of imagination is very necessary not only in artistic activities, but also in the scientific field where logic and rationality are important. Bachelard's imagination aims for art, the primitive realm of human beings, and contains sincerity and passion for the wonders of nature and all things. By exploring the MCU's worldview and superhero narrative through geometrical logic and imagination-driven imagery, you can understand the cosmic messages and laws in the film. From a convergence point of view of art and science, various and original techniques based on mathematics and scientific imagination used in MCU video production will help to improve the quality of video analysis.
