A numerical model for the solution of two-dimensional free surface flow is developed on unstructured grid. By using fractional step method, the two-dimensional shallow water equations (SWE) are treated as two one-dimensional problems. Thus, it is possible to simulate computational hydraulic problems with higher computational efficiency. The one-dimensional problems are solved using upwind TVD version of second-order Weighted Averaged Flux (WAF) scheme with HLLC approximate Riemann solver. The numerical oscillations which are common with second-order numerical scheme are controlled by exploiting WAF flux limiter, Some idealized test problems are solved using this model and very accurate and stable solutions are obtained. It can be concluded as an efficient implement for the computation of SWE including dam break problems that concerning discontinuities, subcritical and supercritical flows and complex domain.

The main purpose of this paper is to present both the natural frequencies and the buckling loads of beam-columns on Winkler-type foundations. The ordinary differential equations governing the free vibrations and the buckling loads of beam-columns on Winkler-type foundation are derived as nondimensional forms. The Runge-Kutta method and Determinant Search method are used to perform the integration of the differential equations and to determine the eigenvalues(natural frequencies and buckling loads), respectively. Hinged-hinged and damped-clamped end constraints are applied in numerical examples. The relation between frequency parameter and elastic foundation parameter is presented in figure. The effects of axial loads on the natural frequencies of beam-columns on elastic foundations are investigated and the relation between buckling load parameter and elastic foundation parameter is also analyzed. The relation between foundation rested ratio and frequency parameter, buckling load parameter are investigated. The beam-columns on non-homogeneous elastic foundation are analyzed and typical mode shapes are also presented.

This paper deals with the free vibration of horizontally curved beams with transition currie. Based on the dynamic equilibrium equations of a curved beam element subjected to the stress resultants and inertia forces, the governing differential equations are derived for the out-of-plane vibration of curved beam with variable curvature. These equations are applied to the beam having transition curve in which the clothiod curve is chosen in this study. The differential equations are solved by the numerical methods lot calculating the natural frequencies and mode shapes. For verifying theories developed herein, the frequency parameters obtained from this studs and ADINA are compared with each other. As the numerical results, the various parametric studies effecting on natural frequencies are investigated and those results are presented in tables and figures.
Three-dimensional electromagnetic modeling algorithm in homogeneous half-space was developed using the extended Born approximation to an electric field integral equation. To examine the performance of the extended Born approximation algorithm, the results were compared with those of the full integral equation results. For a crosshole source-receiver configuration, the agreement between the integral equation and the extended Born approximation was remarkable when the source frequency is lower than 20 kHz and conductivity contrast lower than 1:10. Beyond this conductivity contrast, the simulated results by the extended Born approximation exhibit a difference with respect to those by the integral equation. Therefore, the limit of accuracy lies below contrast of 1:10 in the extended Born approximation. Since for the source frequency range from 20 kHz to 100 kHz, however, the difference is relatively small, the extended Born approximation could be used for a reasonable 3-D EM modeling algorithm.

Numerical experiments of sballow water equations are performed under various boundary conditions by finite element method to simulate the circulation in estuaries and coastal areas. Galerkin method is employed to discretize spatial domain, and for time integration, finite difference method (Crank-Nicolson scheme) is used. This method is tested in five problems, in which first four cases have analytic solutions. The computed values are well in agreement with the analytic solutions in four experiments and the result of the last 2-dimensional ease is resonable. Implicit and two step Lax-Wendroff schemes in time domain are compared, and the results when using four node bilinear and triangular elements are presented. Consequently it takes very long time for complex problems requiring many elements to integrate all the time steps using the implicit schemes. And the explicit scheme requires careful consideration in selecting the time step and the grid size to obtain the desired accuracy.
An imaging method of seismic sources using time-reversal wave propagation is presented. The method is based on the time-reversal invariance and the spatial reciprocity of the wave equation. Time-reversal wave propagation has been used to image anomalous features of a midium in medical imaging, non destructive testing and waveform tomography. Seismogram is the record whose energy is propagated from the seismic source. If time-reversed seismogram propagates back into the medium, seismic energy is concentrated at the origin time of the event and at the source location. In this work, a staggered-grid finite-difference method of the elastic wave equation is parallelized for 3-D wave propagation simulation. With numerical experiments, we show that the time-reversal imaging will enable us to explore the spatio-temporal history of complex earthquake.
In this paper, prediction of centrifugal fan was conducted through combination the hybrid CAA method which was used to predict the fan noise with the FRPM technique which was used to generate the broadband noise source. Firstly, flow field surround the centrifugal fan was computed using the RANS equations and noise source region was deducted from the computed flow field. Then the FRPM technique was applied to the source region for generation of turbulence which satisfies the stochastic features. The noise source of the centrifugal fan was modeled by applying the acoustic analogy to the synthesized flow field from the computed and generated flow fields. Finally, the broadband noise of the centrifugal fan was predicted through combination the modeled noise source with the linear propagation which was realized using the boundary element method. It was confirmed that the proposed technique is efficient to predict the tonal and broadband noises of centrifugal fan through comparison with the measured data.

A temperature preconditioning that modulates the derivative of density with respect to temperature is proposed to improve the convergence characteristics of the preconditioned Euler equations. Flows in a two-dimensional channel with a 10% circular bump in the middle of the channel were calculated at different speeds. The numerical dissipation terms of the Roe’s FDS scheme according to the temperature preconditioning are derived. It is shown that the temperature preconditioning accelerates convergence of the preconditioned Euler equations.
We Present digital watermarking using a quadratic equation embedding method in wavelet transform domain in order to improve the invisibility. Generally, embedding watermark used a simple equation form, but we extended a quadratic equation form in this paper. We performed a computer simulation in order to compare proposed method to other methods using LENA, GOLDHILL, BARBARA, and MAN images By computer experiments, invisibility of the proposed method better than the conventional methods at 100 % normalized similarity.
