붉은 대륙의 문화가 흐르는 곳. 서울 광화문에 자리잡은 '주한중국문화원'은 우리에게 대륙의 문화를 거침없이 보여주려는 듯 자신 있게 다가온다. 중국문화원에 거는 기대가 얼마나 큰지는 VIP룸을 보면 미루어 짐작할 수 있다. 중국을 제대로 알리고자 본국에서 직접 가구와 소품을 들여왔으며 실내 장식에도 본국에서 온 인테리어 기술자가 동원되었다. VIP룸에는 <삼국지>를 소재로 제작한 홍목 가구로 장식되어 있으며 이것 또한 명 청 시대 작품들을 원형 그대로 재현한 것이다. 아시아의 용에서 세계의 용으로 비약하고자 꿈틀대는 중국의 과거와 오늘을 서울에서 느껴본다.

사랑만큼 인간을 변함없이 사로잡은 테마가 있을까? 아담이 혼자 있는 것이 보기 좋지 않아, 이브를 탄생시켜 에덴동산에서 같이 살게 만들었 다는 <성서>, 질투와 짝사랑, 그리고 이뤄질 수 없는 자기애 등 사랑에서 생기는 많은 모티프의 원형으로 가득한 <그리스,로마 신화>, 그리고 바보 온달 왕자를 사랑의 힘으로 훌륭하게 만들었다는 낙랑공주의 이야기 등이 담긴 <삼국유사>. 역사의 고전에는 어디에나 사랑의 이야기가 넘쳐날 정도로 풍부하다. 그러나 이렇게 많은 사랑의 이야기에도 불구하고 우리는 새로운 사랑 이야기를 찾는다. 그리고 언제나 다시 사랑의 이야기에 주목하게 된다. 디지털 시대라고 해서 다를까? 그렇지 않다. SF영화, 미래를 다루는 영화에서도 사랑은 빠지지 않고 등장하는 중요한모티프이다. <매트릭스>만 봐도 그렇다. 궁극적으로 모든 갈등과 위기를 구원하는 것은‘사랑’이지 않은가. 이처럼‘사랑’은 인류 최대의 난제이자 영원한 테마인 것이다.

The Yellow sea, as described in article 123 of UNCLOS, is semi-enclosed sea surrounded by the Republic of Korea, the People's Republic of China and North Korea. In addition, the Yellow Sea is one of the 66 large marine ecosystems as it contains large amounts of marine resources. According to article 194 of UNCLOS, states should be aware of rights and duties with respect to the protection and preservation of the marine environment to be engaged with countries directly as regional entity or indirectly. Therefore, the legal blank is urgent in terms of trans-boundary environmental pollutant issues. The UNDP has conducted a project called Yellow Sea Large Marine Ecosystem (YSLME) which has reached the 2^nd phase. The project has some notable achievements, namely performing joint activities on analysis of diagnostic trans-boundary issues in collaboration with China and South Korea, developing a strategic action plan based on TDA, and establishing regional strategic action plan. However, on the other hand, the project could not reflect the full participation of North Korea as a state party. As a result, the project has a limitation on effective implementation of RSAP. Therefore, this study focuses on the suggestion of a legally-binding trilateral treaty as a blue print for the next, 3^rd phase of the project. By analyzing the best practice of the Wadden Sea Trilateral Treaty case, the study verifies the validity of legislative measures on establishing and managing a legally-binding trilateral YSLME Commission. By suggesting a three phase treaty, incorporating a joint declaration by establishing the commission, the signing of the treaty, and formulating an umbrella convention and implementation arrangement, the study expects to guarantee the consistency and sustainability of the trilateral treaty regardless of political issues pertaining to North Korea.

정보통신부가 주최하고 한국소프트웨어진흥원과 한국데이터베이스진흥센터가 공동으로 주관하는 2004년 디지털콘텐츠 대상 1분기 수상작이 결정됐다. 디지털영상, 온라인게임, 교육용콘텐츠, 무선콘텐츠, 웹정보콘텐츠 등 4개 부문 총 5개 작품이 선정된 이번 1분기 디지털콘텐츠 대상 수상작들은 전분야에 걸쳐 우수한 작품들이 제출되 심사과정에서도 고민이 있었다는 후문이다. 수상작들을 살펴보면 디지털영상 분야에서는 이매진하이의 트라이킹덤이 수상의 영예를 안았고, 온라인 게임 분야에서는 재미 인터렉티브의 '트라비아 온라인'과 엔트리브소프트 '팡야'가 공동으로 선정됐다. 교육콘텐츠에서는 와이즈캠프닷컴의 '와이즈캠프'가 수상했고, 모바일콘텐츠분야에서는 엔텔리젼트의 '삼국지 무한대전'이 차지했다. 이와 함께 웹정보 콘텐츠 분야에서는 북코스모스의 '국내외 북다이제스트'가 대상을 차지했다. 이번 디지털콘텐츠 대상 수상업체들은 향후 정보통신부의 해외 진출과 마케팅을 위한 각종 활동에 우선적으로 참가하는 혜택을 누릴 수 있으며, 연말에 열리는 디지털콘텐츠페어 2004전시회에 참가하고, 대통령상 후보에 오르는 자격을 얻게 된다.

Marek(말액) is the headgear, which is a form of hempen hoods[Geon(건)] and the origin of it is Pa(파) of band form. A history book of an old Chinese country Post-Han $\ll$ History of HouHan (후한서)$\gg$ had recorded that a soldier wore a red band around his head that was called Pa(파). In the Han dynasty(한대), Pa had been transformed into Chaek(책) or a kind of a hemp rap(건) while e headgear had still remained as the band form and called Marek from e Tang era(당). The literatures of the Tang era had referred the red Marek of soldiers, and other literatures of the later period had recorded that of the previous headgears of the band form were related with Marek. Since the Tang era, white or yellow Marek except red one fer soldiers had been were by soldiers, musicians, dancers and singers in Yuan(원) and Ming(명) of China. The colors was recorded in red on documents mostly, this red implicated soldiers for symbol of terror. This fart was documented in an old history book $\ll$The history of 25 Eras(이십오사)$\gg$, On the other side, a wall painting in Princess Jeonghyo(정효공주)'s tomb of the Parhae(발해) period described the portraits of twelve persons, and among them, two Siwui(시위) put on the red Marek. Quoted from the record of a history book of the Tang era system , a history book of Three Kingdoms(삼국시대) of ancient Korea $\ll$Samguksaki(삼국사기)$\gg$ described that four dancers of Kogryo(고구려) wore Marek on their heads with the costumes of Koguryo, one of those Kingdoms. In consideration that the book of $\ll$Tongjun$\gg$ was the literature of the Tang era so that Marek mentioned in this book was followed by their name, the Marek of Koguryo dancers shown in the history book $\ll$Samguksaki(삼국사기)$\gg$ might be a kind of Koguryo style hemp cap[Geon(건)]. The Marek of Parhae had succeeded to the headgear of Koguryo and the identity was on Koguryo.

Finding traces of the numerous contexts that exist in our culture surrounding an old-narrative and leading to it's textualization provides a chance to read the story anew. The 'Pieun(避隱)' section of 'Samgukyusa' contains the stories of people who hide from the world and avoid it, as well as the different types of stories by the compiler, the Buddihist monk, Ilyeon. In other words, the compiler has textualized the story. This study aims to attentively analyze the specific story in the 'Pieun' section and read the insights of the compiler on whether to move into the world or hide from the world. Through this analysis, it is apparent that the episode of 'Pieun' does not only illustrate the characters who wish to escape or hide from the world, but it also enables readers to grasp the intention of Ilyeon who deliberately includes the banquet story which is contrary to the meaning of the title. In the 'Pieun', he emphasizes that the behavior of revealing and hiding oneself to and from the world has significant religious and cultural meanings for an individual. The writer, without distinguishing people who move into the world or hide from it, used the Buddhist Dialectictics method to present a different interpretation.

We have reproduced the records of lunar occultation recorded in the History of Three Kingdoms(삼국사기), the History of the Koryo Dynasty (고려사), the Annals of the Choson Dynasty (朝鮮王朝實錄), the Daily Records of Royal Secretariat of the Choson Dynasty (승정원일기), and obtained the epochs of their realizations. We analysed these results to understand how the system of hours had been kept and when a day began. During most of the periods encompassed by these annals, the 12 double hours(12진각법) and the system of 100 divisions of the day (백각법) had been used when the lunar and the solar eclipses were calculated by royal astronomers. In these systems, the starting point of a day is midnight. On the other hand, the five watch system of hours (경점법), in which a night is divided into five watches, was also used. In this system, a day begins at the sunrise. We found that the traditional twilight, called dusk and dawn (혼명) and used in the east Asian countries, largely corresponds to the nautical twilight in modern concepts. This fact means that the Korean expressions and words for time system in every day life had originated form the five watch system of hours. We pointed out that the sunrise and sunset were convenient boundary lines to ancient astronomers, as well as to farmers in the agricultural society. Our results can be used to determine the exact epoch of each astronomical record in chronicles.

삶의 터전이 부족한 자연환경을 극복하기 위해 인간은 쓸모없는 땅을 개척하고, 다리를 놓고, 둑을 막는 등 끊임없이 노력함으로써 좀더 풍요로운 삶으로 발전시켜왔다. 그 중 호수나 바닷가에 제방을 쌓고 육지를 만드는 간척은 좁은 땅덩어리를 넓힘으로써 삶의 터전을 좀더 확대시킬 수 있다. 우리나라는 삼면이 바다로 둘러싸여 있고 특히 서해안과 남해안은 리아스식 해안에 갯벌이 발달하여 간척에 유리하다. 간척은 삼국시대부터 그 흔적을 찾을 수 있고 조선시대까지는 작은 갯고랑이나 해변을 막는 정도였으나 일제 강점기 때 주로 군량미 조달 등을 목적으로 본격적인 간척이 이루어졌다. 해방 후에도 간척은 계속되었고 1980년대 이후 중장비가 등장하면서 수천 미터의 제방 길이와 거대한 물목을 틀어막는 대규모 공사로 발전하였다. 근대의 간척사업이 군량미 확보와 미곡 증산 중심이었다면 최근의 간척사업은 생태환경 복원, 관광 등 다목적 용도로 쓰임새가 변화하는 추세이다. 서해안에서는 지금 국토를 넓히는 역사적인 사업이자 최대 규모의 국책사업인 간척사업이 한창 진행 중이다. 중국 동해안을 중심으로 한국과 일본 큐슈를 잇는 환황해권이 세계 최대 경제로 떠오를 것으로 예상됨에 따라 정부가 환황해권의 주도권을 잡기 위해 새만금개발사업을 적극 추진하고 있다. 세계 최장 33km의 방조제와 $401km^2$의 땅을 매립하여 농업 산업단지, 복합도시, 21세기 동북아 관광레저의 허브 등 다용도로 활용하기 위함이다. 본지는 바닷내음 물씬 풍기는 광활한 새만금 벌판에서 새만금집단에너지시설 건설공사를 시공 중인 (주)정호이앤씨(대표 최호선) 양석동 현장소장과 원도급 업체인 두산중공업 용환윤 소장을 만났다.

It has been well known that the function of the furnace is to cook, to heat, and to light. Especially, it is easy to grasp relations between the furnace forms and the dwelling structure because the furnace was a part of the most important housing culture.
